"Making the Band 2" alumna Sara Stokes was in Riverside County Court in California on Friday to enter a not-guilty plea to one charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Stokes, the former Diddy protégé, was arrested August 2 after allegedly stabbing her husband, Tony, with a weapon in the presence of her three children.

A court spokesperson confirmed to MTV News that Stokes was present in court and was assigned a public defender before entering her plea. Stokes is due back in court September 9.

Though a mug shot portrayed Stokes with bruises above and below her left eye and a bloodied nose, a lawyer for the former Da Band member released a statement following the arrest in which he said the couple were having "fun...

Sara Stokes Gets Arrested, Further Tarnishing The Legacy Of Da Band
As great as "Making His Band" is, it can't compare to "Making the Band 2," which focused on Diddy trying to put together a rap group that ended up being called Da Band. Sadly, one of the group's members found her way into the news today, and it wasn't for something musical: Sara Stokes was arrested for stabbing her husband in a domestic incident in their California home. Ness is probably the success story of the group. Even though Diddy was ready to package him and Babs as "hip-hop's new Bonnie and Clyde," the...

"Making the Band 2" alumna Sara Stokes was arrested last Sunday on domestic abuse charges after the former Diddy protégé allegedly stabbed her husband, Tony, in an altercation at their Moreno Valley, California, home on August 2, police have confirmed.

The singer, who along with rappers Chopper, Fred Watson, Babs, Ness and reggae vocalist Dylan formed Da Band — allegedly struck her husband with the weapon in the presence of her three children. Stokes is believed to have been injured in the fracas as she fell while storming out of her home. A mug shot shows Stokes with bruises above and below her left eye and a bloodied nose.

A lawyer for Stokes released a statement to TMZ explaining that the couple was in...
