Martin Menzel was born to Marianne Menzel, M.D. and Arnold Menzel,
industrial lubricants engineer, on May 24th 1979 in Magdeburg, East
Germany. After high school he was trained to be a media designer at
German Television ZDF. Additionally, hes studied filmmaking at New York
Film Academy in New York City (NYFA).
From 1999 on, Martin has continually been working as media designer and editor for ZDF and other German TV stations. Additionally, he became a film editor and edited feature films and documentaries for TV and cinema release in Germany. He has also been writing screenplays and directing his own short films, produced and shot both in Germany and the United States. His films garnered international festival acclaim. Martin Menzel currently lives in Magdeburg and Berlin, Germany, and is preparing his feature film debut as a director, as well as working freelance as film editor.
