The third season of “Industry” elevated the HBO drama series to new heights in creative ambition and audience awareness. A standalone episode focused on Rishi Ramdani, played by star Sagar Radia, is a prime example of the show’s evolution.

Episode 4, titled “White Mischief,” follows a day in the chaotic life of the Pierpoint associate — kicking off with the reveal that Rishi is deep in debt with loan sharks hot on his tail. The hour, written by series creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, shows how Rishi gambles and cheats his way out of the impossible situation as his personal life also begins to fall apart.

“It’s a crazy mindset to be in,” Sagar Radia told TheWrap in a new installment of How I Did It, presented by HBO. “The interesting thing about the gambling scenes was that it was my day one of shooting [this episode.] It was actually a really tough place to start.

As heartbreaking as the Season 3 finale of “Industry” may have been for fans seeking a Yasmin and Robert romance, Marisa Abela sees her character’s ending as “inevitable.”

“The way that Myha’la as Harper makes the most cutthroat choice in terms of the industry and what she’s preparing to do, Yasmin makes the most cutthroat choice in terms of her own life,” Abela told TheWrap of her character.

It begins with a simple but powerful premise. Kelly (Brittany Ashworth) is on a climbing holiday with her friend Sophie (Anaïs Parello) when they meet a group of young men. Altitude has boarded UK rights on Howard J. Ford’s Lockdown Hauntings, a pandemic-themed horror produced by the UK’s Evolution Pictures that is now in post.

The distributor is planning a theatrical release for the film around March 2021 to mark the anniversary of the first lockdown.

Production is underway in Serbia on Howard J Ford’s The Ledge, with Gfm Films Sales recording first deals on the UK-Serbian co-production.

Stranded in a car wreck in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Juliette (Brittany Ashworth) has to fend off a strange creature who isn't interested in giving her a hand in Hostile. With the new horror movie out now on VOD platforms and DVD from 4Digital Media, we caught up with writer/director Mathieu Turi to discuss combining genres, the influence of Richard Matheson's I Am Legend, and working with Javier Botet.

Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Mathieu. How and when did you first come up with the idea for Hostile?

Mathieu Turi: I previously did two short films, Sons of Chaos (2010), a post-apocalyptic/action/creature short which received official selection in multiple film festivals around the world and officially competed at Sitges in 2011. The second film, Broken (2012), is a love story/drama set in an elevator. So, in a way, Hostile is a mix of the two short films.

We've been tracking the career of Mathieu Turi since we debuted his first short post-apocalyptic film Sons of Chaos nearly ten years ago.

Synopsis:

A worldwide epidemic has killed most of the planet’s population. The few survivors struggle to find food and shelter. But they are not alone…On her way back from a scavenging mission, Juliette (Brittany Ashworth) has a terrible accident.

Stuck in her car, with a broken leg, in the middle of an unforgiving desert, she must survive the perils of the post-apocalypse, while a strange creature prowls around…

It’s finally happening: the final countdown to the greatest time of the year is officially upon us! You were born in Cannes so you grew up with film all around? When did you know for sure you wanted to direct?

I think it’s always been there. As a child, I used to steal my dad’s VHS camera to make mini-movies. They were basically all about my Jurassic Park toys eating my dog or invading the garden. Later, I did more elaborate short films with friends, instead of studying. Then, I remember watching Braveheart and the making of the movie. For the first time, I knew that directing was something I wanted to do for a living.

Late last year we announced that French director and friend to Qe Mathieu Turi had partnered with Xavier Gens (The Divide, Frontier(s)) to produce his first feature film called Hostile, a post-apocalyptic horror thriller with a great concept.

Now we're hearing out of Cannes that the film has its official cast locked in Brittany Ashworth (The Crucifixion) in the lead, Javier Botet (Crimson Peak, The Revenant) and Grégory Fitoussi (World [Continued ...]...

Granted, Warner Brothers released an extensive two-disc collection of arguably Charlie Chaplin's finest film back in 2003, but Criterion Collection is bringing the silent comedian to Blu-ray for the first time with a newly remastered edition of the Depression-era classic with an array of special features including the Dardenne brothers' 2003 tribute to the film, the 1916 two-reeler "The Rink," the Alistair Cooke home movie with Chaplin and Pauline Goddard, "All at Sea," two deleted sequences from the film, a new featurette on the film's special effects with Ben Burtt and Craig Barron and much more.
