Susan Jackson received voice training at the Royal Manchester College of Music. After her studies in Manchester, she went to the London Opera Centre where she spent three years at the school's centre for advanced singers. She went on to sing with the New Opera Company at the Cheltenham Festival, at the Glyndebourne Festival, and on British radio and television where she appeared in The Marriage of Figaro. She joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in 1967 as principal soprano, appearing as Phyllis in "Iolanthe", Rose Maybud in "Ruddigore", Patience in "Patience", Gianetta in "The Gondoliers", and Josephine in "H.M.S. Pinafore". She left the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in August 1969. Susan later sang on tour in A Waltz Dream, and appeared at the Players' Theatre, London, in Old Time Music Hall. Miss Jackson played the title character in "Patience", Phyllis in "Iolanthe", Psyche in "Princess Ida" and Gianetta in "The Gondoliers" at Gawsworth Hall, Cheshire, in the late 1980s, and has appeared in several "Together Again" concerts in the 1990s.
