Set in the same universe as Denis Villeneuve's Oscar-winning movie franchise, Dune: Prophecyis a prequel series that aired on HBO and Max last year to generally positive reviews. The network moved quickly to renew the epic action series for Season 2 before the finale, and it seems the big-budget production will begin rolling cameras sooner rather than later. Dune: Prophecy takes place 10,00 years before the events of the film series and follows the origins of the Bene Gesserit, a super-powered sociopolitical and religious entity with far-reaching influence across the galaxy.
During an interview with Collider, Dune: Prophecy star Josh Heuston, who portrays Constantine Corrino in the show, revealed that Season 2 will begin filming this August and continue until the end of the year. We may still be reeling from the season finale of The Wheel of Time, but don't worry, there's plenty more good fantasy television on the way this year. One of the biggest fantasy shows still to come down the pike in 2025 is The Witcher, which will be releasing its fourth season on Netflix. We don't have an exact release date yet, but unless there's a serious shake-up at Netflix, it will come sometime between now and December 31.
This is an important season for the series, since it will be the first time that the white-haired witcher Geralt of Rivia is played by Liam Hemsworth, after previous Geralt actor Henry Cavill stepped down following season 3. Changing a lead actor is always a challenge, and doubly so when they're as central to the series as Cavill's Geralt. Can The Witcher survive this change?
We shall see. Beyond Hemsworth's Geralt, The Witcher...

Netflix recently unveiled the latest additions to The Witcher ahead of the show's final two seasons. After Henry Cavill stepped away from the show following Season 3, Netflix revealed that the series would be cut short, coming to an end after Seasons 4 and 5 with Liam Hemsworth taking over as Geralt of Rivia. Despite boasting high ratings and viewership figures, The Witcher has been the target of much criticism from fans of Andrzej Sapkowski's novels for making major alterations to the story. Fans of the books will have even more to be upset about with the latest round of casting.
The news of The Witcher's new cast additions comes via Redanian Intelligence. A total of eight new actors have been added to The Witcher for its final two seasons. Camilla Beeput (Dune: Prophecy), Liv Andrushier (A Play in a Day), and Laurie Duncan (Warfare) are the most well-known of the new additions.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Dune: Prophecy episode 2!Dune: Prophecy showrunner Alison Schapker has explained episode 2's Water of Life predecessor, revealing why the choice was made to differentiate it from the movie rendition. In Dune: Prophecy episode 2, Tula Harkonnen (Olivia Williams) asks one of her students, Lila (Chloe Lea) to unlock her genetic memory, attempting to investigate who killed Kasha (Jihae) in the previous episode. To do this, she uses Rossak poison, an ancient predecessor to the Water of Life used by the Bene Gesserit during the Dune movies.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Schapker explained how Dune: Prophecy's use of Rossak poison as a Water of Life predecessor came from the books. She explained how, much like the origins of the Voice, everything in the prequel series comes from the source material, expanding on the sci-fi world's history in the process. Max has been home to a few franchise prequels, but Dune: Prophecy has the right idea. While showing the younger days of Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) may be an alluring idea, setting the new series 10,000 years before the rise of Paul Atreides (Timothe Chalamet) is the wiser choice. Dune: Prophecy shows the beginnings of the organization that becomes the Bene Gesserit while allowing freedom to explore storylines that won't besmirch Denis Villeneuve's films.
Dune: Prophecy follows Valya Harkonnen (Emily Watson), an ambitious Reverend Mother who vows to change the course of history. Planning to seat one of their own on the throne of the Imperium, she believes she can mold events of what is to come to her own benefit. Valya is a complex character from the House that doesn't improve in reputation over the next 10 centuries.

Quick Links Why Dune: Prophecy Is a Mistake The Narrative Scale of Dune: Prophecy
When Dune: Prophecy premieres on HBO, not even the might of the all-powerful sandworm will be enough to carry its strained and unnecessary weight on its back. Following the hit of Dune: Part Two is no easy job for any movie, even the franchise's upcoming third entry. So, for something like Dune: Prophecy to be next on the release schedule feels like a disservice to the show itself and the fans, especially given the frosty climate around movie-adjacent TV shows from Marvel and Star Wars. Not everything is meant to be an expanded universe, and, in the case of Denis Villeneuve's Dune series, it feels entirely unnecessary, given the streamlined approach he has taken to his adaptation.
Given the dense nature of Frank Herbert's source material, Villeneuve has done a decent job creating...

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dune: Prophecy showrunner Alison Schapker discusses how the prequel series will reveal the beginning of the Bene Gesserit. There's a chance IMAX revealed Dune: Messiah and Steven Spielberg's new UFO movie during their investor presentation. It could have been a mistake, but once you plant the seed, it's hard to control the bubbling up of rumors that arise from such things. While there's nothing officially confirmed yet, Comic Book and World of Reel detailed the IMAX event in which investors were presented with stats and release schedules, including a presentation that showed the information in question. The document includes titles that would theoretically be released in their state-of-the-art theaters and which could be shot with IMAX cameras, listed as Untitled Dune - Denis Villeneuve by Warner Bros. and The Dish by Universal Pictures.
Of course, those titles refer to Steven Spielberg's upcoming sci-fi film with Josh O'Connor and Emily Blunt and Villeneuve's Dune: Messiah. The weird thing about this is that such information is now gone. Screenshots were made,...

Dune: Prophecy moved from Max to HBO, signaling a shift towards prestige television for the series. HBO aims to establish Dune as the next big fantasy series, filling gaps between major tentpole shows. Dune: Prophecy offers new material for fans, shedding light on the origins of the Bene Gesserit with a star-studded cast.
After the release of Denis Villeneuves first Dune film in 2021, the future of the franchise was still somewhat uncertain. The first movie performed well at the box office, pulling in a total of $407 million worldwide. However, the actual success of the film was hard to measure, as the world was still in the midst of the Covid-19 global pandemic, which resulted in the movie being released day and date on HBO Max (now Max). However, enough things went right with the first Dune film that Warner Bros. and Legendary saw fit to move forward with the franchise.

Dune: Prophecy is a prequel to Villeneuve's Dune films, focusing on the Bene Gesserit's origins 10,000 years before. The series will delve into how the Bene Gesserit formed and gained influence, linking Harkonnens and the sisterhood. Dune: Prophecy will feature new characters and explore ancient events like the Battle of Corrin and the Butlerian Jihad.
The upcoming HBO/Max series Dune: Prophecy will be a prequel and spin-off of Denis Villeneuve's celebrated Dune: Part One (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024). Following the critical acclaim and box office success of Dune: Part Two, which is still the second highest-grossing film of 2024 as of the time of writing, HBO/Max will debut its first-ever Dune original series in November. The six-part series will take a deep dive into the origins of the Bene Gesserit as led by Emily Watson's Valya Harkonnen, Olivia Williams' Tula Harkonnen, and Mark Strong's Emperor Javicco Corrino.

Denis Villeneuve's Dune films set a new standard for sci-fi adaptations, unmatched in quality this decade. Dune: Prophecy is a prequel series based on Brian Herbert's novel that explores the origins of the Bene Gesserit. Warner Bros. is expanding the Dune franchise with Dune: Prophecy, testing the waters for further adaptations and spin-offs.
So far, there has been no new sci-fi series this decade that has been able to match the quality of Denis Villeneuves two Dune films. Described by many as a cross between Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and Game of Thrones, Villeneuves Dune has provided a blockbuster cinematic event that has to be experienced to be believed. The classic Dune novel, written by Frank Herbert, was first published in 1965 and has been adapted on several occasions over the years. First, there was the failed attempt by experimental director Alejandro Jodorowsky to bring it to life in the 1970s.

Contains spoilers for all episodes of The Suspect
The end of episode three of ITV’s The Suspect, based on Michael Robotham’s book, found our Doctor Joe O’Loughlin (Aidan Turner) almost at rock bottom. And it’s going to get worse before it gets better.
The case against him for the murder of Catherine is looking pretty strong in the eyes of detective Devi and Ruiz based on very strange behaviour from Joe (he has fibbed A Lot) as well as circumanstial evidence all pointing in his direction. He’s either guilty, or someone really is out to get him.
Could it be his long time friend Doctor Gerald Owen (Adam James) aka Jack – who has the same initials as him? Jack heads to the police to come clean that he was the J.O. in Catherine’s journal which has now been discovered.
A few words about Jack and his inconsistent behaviour.

ITV latest glossy thriller The Suspect, based on the debut novel of Michael Robotham, is a semi-ridiculous, tropey but nonetheless twisty-turny ball of fun told over five episodes broadcast weekly. He’s a brilliant (probably – they’re always brilliant aren’t they?) psychologist with his own private practice, several published books that...

Exclusive: Poldark star Aidan Turner is to play a doctor with a dark side in a new drama for ITV from Bodyguard and The Pembrokeshire Murders producer World Productions.
The British broadcaster has ordered a small-screen adaptation of Michael Robotham’s novel The Suspect.

It follows Doctor Joe O’Loughlin, played by Turner, who appears to have the perfect life – a devoted wife, a loving daughter, successful practice as a clinical psychologist, media profile and a publishing deal. 17 months go by in between the first two seasons of “Save Me.” When the camera ducks inside The Palm Tree, the local pub frequented by so many in the series’ ensemble, most of the patrons are living their lives much the same way as they did before the events of the show’s first season. “Save Me,” which aired its opening episodes stateside on Starz before landing at its current home on Peacock, began with the disappearance of Jody, the 13-year-old daughter of Nelly (Lennie James) and Claire (Suranne Jones).
At the opening of Season 2 (stylized in the opening credits as “Save Me Too”), Jody is still missing. Nelly, much like Claire and her husband Barry, have settled into a state of perpetual anxiety, even if they’re able to mask that sadness to their respective partners.
Even with the potential arrival of a new baby among the Palm Tree faithful,...

Warning: contains major spoilers for Save Me series one.
Save Me Too, the new six-episode series from writer-actor Lennie James, takes place 17 months after the conclusion of the first run, when Nelly Rowe’s search for his kidnapped 13-year-old daughter led him to the discovery of another underage girl he rescued from child abusers.
In the year and a half Jody has been missing, the trial of Gideon Charles and investigation into her disappearance is ongoing. Jody’s mother Claire (Suranne Jones) is struggling to come to terms with her daughter’s absence, while Nelly (James) is determined to continue the search despite friends at the South-East London Towers Estate telling him it might be time to move on.
As the new episodes arrive on Sky Atlantic and Now TV, here’s a reminder of what happened in series one.

May 16th, 2016, 1:21pm– CilUxmEXEAAbduA.jpg large We never know when Rupert Grint has a new project in the bag – one day we’re going through a long news drought and another day he is spotted on set filming something new. Today, Rupert was spotted on set filming a new series called Sick Note. We know very little about this project at the moment so hopefully more information will become available soon. Firstly, check out the pictures of Rupert (with a new haircut and wearing a snazzy suit) alongside costar Nick Frost: CilUxLeWsAAOEr3.jpg large Thanks to twitter users Christinahighup and RunningReenie. Secondly, we found out about this project when actress Camilla Beeput tweeted that she was about to start filming with Rupert and Nick (the tweet has since been deleted). Now we know it’s a comedy series for Sky Atlantic directed by Matt Lipsey and produced by King Bert Productions.

Fame Academy may only have lasted two series, but boy, did it burn bright. And even though it was over ten years ago that it was on our screens, we're still belting out David Sneddon's utter tune 'Stop Living The Lie' at our DS karaoke sessions.
But the news of series two's Alistair Griffin teaming up with Kimberley Walsh for a Tour de France single got us thinking - what happened to all of our favourite Fame Academy contestants? Well, here's what we could find out about 16 of the students over both series...

Ashley might have been eliminated in week one of Fame Academy (the shame) but he's not let that little disappointment hold him back. He went on to guest star in an episode of Cbbc's Mi: High... look, we promise, this gets better. He's now a sports presenter who helped launch Arsenal TV,...

Peep Show star Robert Webb has revealed that his character Jeremy will begin a new romance in the upcoming seventh series. The comedian told What's On TV that the hapless musician would be "bowled over" by love interest Zara (Camilla Beeput). "She's a pseudo-intellectual who thinks Amélie is a very clever film," he explained. "Jeremy buys into it because, even though he doesn't have a clue what she's talking about, it sounds brilliant." Webb explained that the affair will become complicated when Jeremy starts to work for Zara's music (more)...
