It follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.

Inspired by the novel “Sisterhood of Dune” by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, the series follows the leader of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood, Valya Harkonnen (played by Emily Watson), and Tula Harkonnen (Olivia Williams), who team up to combat forces that threaten humankind.

Both are ancestors from long ago of the evil House Harkonnen, which betrays Paul Atreides and his father in the “Dune” movies. Mark Strong plays Emperor Javicco Corrino and Sarah-Sofie Boussnina is his daughter Princess Ynez.

HBO will continue following the Sisterhood of Dune: Prophecy.

The series will return for a second season, showrunner Alison Schapker announced at a press conference Thursday. The renewal comes a few days ahead of the show’s first-season finale, which debuts Dec. 22 on HBO and Max.

According to HBO, the premiere episode of Dune: Prophecy has racked up 15 million viewers worldwide on Max since its Nov. 17 debut.

“Dune: Prophecy” debuted to a lukewarm audience, on par with “The Penguin.”

The series premiere of “Dune: Prophecy” brought in 1.2 million viewers across HBO and Max on Sunday, according to Warner Bros. Discovery internal data. Viewership for the debut episode of “Dune: Prophecy” was on par with “The Penguin,” whose series premiere scored 1.4 million cross-platform viewers on a Thursday, before “The Batman” spinoff series moved to Sundays.

Viewership for the debut episode of “Dune: Prophecy” saw a 75% uptick the day after its premiere, growing to reach 2.1 million viewers across platforms.

“The Penguin,” which aired its finale just a week before “Dune: Prophecy” took over HBO’s coveted Sunday night spot, grew to 2.1 million viewers for its finale, marking a series high. Its series premiere went on to draw 18 million viewers in the U.

A first look image of Tabu in Dune: Prophecy has been revealed. The upcoming Max series will focus on the history of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood in the Dune universe. In addition to Tabu, Dune: Prophecy is set to have a leading cast including Travis Fimmel, Emily Watson, Camilla Beeput, Sarah Lam, Olivia Williams, Jodhi May, and Mark Strong.

There's a chance IMAX revealed Dune: Messiah and Steven Spielberg's new UFO movie during their investor presentation. It could have been a mistake, but once you plant the seed, it's hard to control the bubbling up of rumors that arise from such things. While there's nothing officially confirmed yet, Comic Book and World of Reel detailed the IMAX event in which investors were presented with stats and release schedules, including a presentation that showed the information in question. The document includes titles that would theoretically be released in their state-of-the-art theaters and which could be shot with IMAX cameras, listed as Untitled Dune - Denis Villeneuve by Warner Bros. and The Dish by Universal Pictures.

Fans of Dune have something exciting to celebrate as the mythology continues to expand with the upcoming prequel series, Dune: Prophecy. The events take place thousands of years before director Denis Villeneuve's lucrative film franchise, which in turn is based on the works of Frank Herbert. HBO just dropped a new teaser trailer for the series, which premieres in November.

The second teaser for Dune: Prophecy offers up more dialogue and different footage from the first snippet released back in May. The teaser is only a minute long, but it teases the drama to come, ending with Emily Watson's Valya Harkonnen declaring that "Sacrifices must be made." You can check out the new teaser below.

So far, there has been no new sci-fi series this decade that has been able to match the quality of Denis Villeneuves two Dune films. Described by many as a cross between Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and Game of Thrones, Villeneuves Dune has provided a blockbuster cinematic event that has to be experienced to be believed. The classic Dune novel, written by Frank Herbert, was first published in 1965 and has been adapted on several occasions over the years. First, there was the failed attempt by experimental director Alejandro Jodorowsky to bring it to life in the 1970s.

AMC Networks’ Sundance Now today released the trailer for its original five-part thriller, The Suspect, starring the Poldark, Leonardo, and The Hobbit veteran.

The end of episode three of ITV’s The Suspect, based on Michael Robotham’s book, found our Doctor Joe O’Loughlin (Aidan Turner) almost at rock bottom. And it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

The case against him for the murder of Catherine is looking pretty strong in the eyes of detective Devi and Ruiz based on very strange behaviour from Joe (he has fibbed A Lot) as well as circumanstial evidence all pointing in his direction. He’s either guilty, or someone really is out to get him.

Could it be his long time friend Doctor Gerald Owen (Adam James) aka Jack – who has the same initials as him? Jack heads to the police to come clean that he was the J.O. in Catherine’s journal which has now been discovered.

The British broadcaster has ordered a small-screen adaptation of Michael Robotham’s novel The Suspect.

The five-part series will also star Shaun Parkes (Small Axe), Sian Clifford (Fleabag), Camilla Beeput (Peep Show), Adam James (Doctor Foster) and Anjli Mohindra (Vigil).

The series is being written by Gangs of London writer Peter Berry.

17 months go by in between the first two seasons of “Save Me.” When the camera ducks inside The Palm Tree, the local pub frequented by so many in the series’ ensemble, most of the patrons are living their lives much the same way as they did before the events of the show’s first season. “Save Me,” which aired its opening episodes stateside on Starz before landing at its current home on Peacock, began with the disappearance of Jody, the 13-year-old daughter of Nelly (Lennie James) and Claire (Suranne Jones).

At the opening of Season 2 (stylized in the opening credits as “Save Me Too”), Jody is still missing. Nelly, much like Claire and her husband Barry, have settled into a state of perpetual anxiety, even if they’re able to mask that sadness to their respective partners.

Save Me Too, the new six-episode series from writer-actor Lennie James, takes place 17 months after the conclusion of the first run, when Nelly Rowe’s search for his kidnapped 13-year-old daughter led him to the discovery of another underage girl he rescued from child abusers.

In the year and a half Jody has been missing, the trial of Gideon Charles and investigation into her disappearance is ongoing. Jody’s mother Claire (Suranne Jones) is struggling to come to terms with her daughter’s absence, while Nelly (James) is determined to continue the search despite friends at the South-East London Towers Estate telling him it might be time to move on.
