Aquaman star Jason Momoa swaps a trident for silk pyjamas as he joins the list of celebrities reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story.

Jason Momoa is following in the footsteps of Tom Hardy and joins the growing roster of celebrity readers for CBeebies Bedtime Stories. Momoa will be appearing on TV screens across the UK in black silk pyjamas and reading Tiddler by Julia Donaldson to the kiddos – and probably a few parents, too.

“One of my favourite books that I read to my children as they were growing up was The Gruffalo, so I am very happy to read another amazing story by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler for a CBeebies Bedtime Story,” Momoa said of his stint on the popular children’s programme.

The podcast offers music-loving guests the chance to curate their own dream festival from start to finish. Stormzy has released a new single, “Sounds of the Skeng,” the third song to emerge from the British rapper’s upcoming album. The fast-talking track, produced by Sir Spyro, follows “Vossi Bop” and “Crown.”

In the last couple of years there have been a number of music documentaries which have breathed life into what was becoming a tired genre, unleashing new or once forgotten bands and music into the world. Last year’s Anvil!: The Story of Anvil and Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage, released earlier this year, were particularly impressive, highlighting a human story full of years of struggle and ultimate joy to the soundtrack of awesome music. Continuing this trend comes Anyone Can Play Guitar, which tells the story of the 30-year history of music in Oxford, England.

English cities have long been synonymous with great music: Liverpool gave rise to The Beatles; Manchester Oasis and the Stone Roses; the East Midlands area...

Some bands have all the luck, and some bands can't buy a break. Supergrass belong in the latter category, as despite a series of buzz-heavy singles (including "Alright," the breakout hit from their debut album I Should Coco that was also featured on the soundtrack to the hit movie "Clueless"), they never seemed to be able to get over the hump for a true breakthrough (at least in America, anyway). And on this day in 2007 (just as they were , the band had to put all of their business on hold when bassist Mick Quinn broke his back and heel in a supremely unfortunate accident.

The original score by Nigel Godrich is just beautiful, as it is seamlessly infested with videogame influences. Members of Supergrass have reportedly announced that they have finished recording a covers album with their new side-project. As previously reported, Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey teamed up with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich to work on a record of covers under the alias of The Hot Rats. From its beginning as the bratty little brother of the Britpop moment, Supergrass never looked built to last. But as Blur edged toward abstraction and Oasis got better only at repeating itself, Supergrass has carried on reasonably well. The band's 2005 album, Road To Rouen, sounded like a grab at artistic maturity—it lacked tunes, in other words—but Diamond Hoo Ha dispenses with any such pretensions. If the title weren't indication enough that this was a back-to-basics effort, an opening riff that playfully rips off Led Zeppelin's "Moby Dick" seals the deal. It works, too. Supergrass sounds loose and inspired throughout, turning that Zep goof into a catchy throwback to early singles like "Caught By The Fuzz," then building an explosive chorus using raw materials borrowed from Idiot-era Iggy Pop on "Bad Blood." Supergrass rockers Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey are taking to the streets of London on Wednesday to busk for charity.

The pair will perform as their Diamond Hoo Ha Men alter-egos at the West Plaza in Covent Garden from 1pm.

All money raised by the outdoor gig will go to homeless organisation Crisis.
