As a result, he hatches a plan to ruin the principal’s chances of winning the blue ribbon of academic excellence by secretly producing the most inappropriate musical imaginable. The story...

10 Best Alexander Skarsgård Movies And TV Shows, Ranked
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

2025 is quietly shaping up to be the Year of the Skarsgård. Coming off the science fiction blockbuster hit "Dune: Part Two" from last year, patriarch Stellan Skarsgård has once again helped elevate genre content with a stunning dramatic turn in the "Star Wars" prequel series "Andor" on Disney+. Meanwhile, Bill Skarsgård has returned to the world of Stephen King and Pennywise the Clown, reprising the role that made him a household name in the HBO series "It: Welcome to Derry." But perhaps most significant of all is the latest endeavor of Alexander Skarsgård, an arguably underrated member of the acting dynasty currently leading "Murderbot," one of the buzziest shows of Apple TV+ triumphant 2025 run.

It's possible Alexander doesn't get as much attention because his most high-profile swing at a blockbuster turned out to be a major box office bomb. There...

'Scream 7' Recruits Original 'Scream' Composer Marco Beltrami
Image
The Scream 7family gets bigger with some returning figures that will rekindle the flame that Wes Craven created almost 30 years ago. Marco Beltrami, the composer behind the music of the first four Scream films, has revealed that he will do Scream 7. The music veteran behind major works like A Quiet Place and Logan confirmed this on social media, and suddenly, Scream 7 just got a bit more exciting.

At first, Beltrami wasn't announced as the official composer of Scream 7. Nevertheless, a few weeks ago, a fan pleaded for him to do Scream 7 by commenting on a 2023 post on Instagram. "Please do Scream 7!" said the comment, to which Beltrami replied by saying, "Don't worry, I am." This marks Beltrami's return to the horror franchise after he wrote the score for the first Scream films, all directed by Wes Craven. In Scream (2022), Beltrami was replaced by Brian Tyler,...

Superman & Man of Steel Stars Unite for New Biopic
Image
The casts of James Gunn's Superman and Zack Snyder's Man of Steel are about to collide. Michael Shannon, who memorably played Zod in the 2013 superhero movie as well as The Flash, has joined the cast of Skydance Sports' upcoming biopic about Mr. Irrelevant, a.k.a. John Tuggle.

Per Deadline, Shannon will play iconic coach Bill Parcells in the untitled football drama about former NFL player John Tuggle, who was given the title "Mr. Irrelevant" after being the last pick of the last round of the 1983 NFL Draft. Superman lead David Corenswet was previously cast to play Tuggle back in October 2024, with 1883 star Isabel May joining the movie last month in an undisclosed role.

Reacher creator Nick Santora penned the screenplay for the upcoming biopic, which is set to be directed by Jonathan Levine, whose directorial credits include zombie rom-com Warm Bodies and the Seth Rogen-led comedies 50/50,...

Two Superman Icons Will Unite as Michael Shannon Joins David Corenswet in New Football Biopic
Image
Clark Kent and General Zod are together again, for the first time. Intense thespian Michael Shannon, who played the Kryptonian villain in Man of Steel, is teaming up with newly minted Superman David Corenswet for a new movie chronicling the tragically short life of a lesser-known sports hero. Corenswet will play running back John Tuggle, while Shannon will portray legendary coach Bill Parcells in the as-yet untitled film.

Tuggle, a running back who helped Uc Berkeley reach their first bowl game in twenty years, was drafted last overall in the 1983 NFL Draft, 335th overall in the 12th round, by the New York Giants. The last player selected in the draft is traditionally known as "Mr. Irrelevant": other players with that tag include Super Bowl champ Ryan Succop and current San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. Tuggle made the team out of training camp, becoming the first Mr. Irrelevant to...

Michael Shannon to play Hall of Fame Coach Bill Parcells opposite David Corenswet in untitled Mr. Irrelevant football drama
Image
Huddle up, friends! Oscar-nominated actor Michael Shannon is taking the field to play coach Bill Parcells in Skydance’s untitled sports drama about former player John Tuggle, better known as Mr. Irrelevant, after being picked last in the final round of the 1983 NFL Draft. Interestingly, the casting has a superhero connection with Superman actor David Corenswet playing Tuggle. Henry Cavill’s Superman famously snapped General Zod’s neck in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, with Shannon as the benevolent space villain.

Jonathan Levine directs the untitled film from a script by Nick Santora with Isabel May co-starring alongside Shannon and Corenswet.

Levine’s film aims to score a touchdown with audiences by telling the moving and heartfelt story of John Tuggle, drafted by the New York Giants and who profoundly impacted the team. Parcells, the Hall of Fame coach, oversaw the team during Tuggle’s inspiring position. Many consider...

Prime Video's Latest Crime Comedy Series 'The Sticky' Canceled After One Season
Image
Prime Video has decided to cancel The Sticky, a heist comedy series that premiered on the streaming platform back in December with six episodes. The reason behind this decision hasn’t officially been stated, but per Deadline, it is likely due to a kind of viewership that wasn’t strong enough to warrant a renewal. This cancelation is surprising, considering The Sticky has an 80% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and received good reviews from both critics and audiences.

The series follows the story of Ruth Landry, a maple syrup farmer in Canada, who teams up with a mobster and a security guard to exact revenge on the authorities who threaten to take away her land. The official synopsis reads:

“The Sticky follows Ruth Landry, a tough, middle-aged maple syrup farmer who turns to crime when the bureaucratic authorities threaten to take away everything she loves. She teams up with the hot-tempered Bostonian mobster,...

‘The Sticky’ Heist Comedy Canceled By Prime Video After One Season
Image
Exclusive: Prime Video has opted not to renew The Sticky for a second season. The news comes more than two months after the six-episode first season of the Canadian comedy, starring Margo Martindale, Chris Diamantopoulos and Guillaume Cyr and guest starring Jamie Lee Curts, was released on Dec. 6.

Like another recently canceled Prime Video freshman comedy series, The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, The Sticky could not break through and draw wide enough audience despite solid reviews (80% on Rotten Tomatoes). Comedies take longer than dramas to, um, stick, which could explain why streamers are doing fewer half-hour shows and why those shows have a generally higher cancellation rate after a single season.

The Sticky, produced by Blumhouse Television, Curtis’ Comet Pictures, Jonathan Levine’s Megamix and Sphere Media, was inspired by a real-life heist that made global headlines in 2012, which saw more than $18 million worth of maple syrup stolen from Quebec’s national reserves.
