Biography

Jose Rico is a business school dropout, psychologist, multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, writer, actor, and filmmaker in the making.

Born in Chula Vista, California, growing up in Mexico he started learning keyboard, flute, and drums at a young age.

Later, he taught himself to sing, play guitar, and write lyrics.

Having always admired actors, and loved music and cinema, he started to write short stories to create a book and a movie script.

After taking some acting lessons he found opportunities in the San Diego Filmmaking and Acting sphere.

In 2023 he released his first composition album "Somnia", and in 2024 he released his second composition album named "Mania".

In 2024, he received his acting, singing, and filmmaking certificate from UCSD Extended Studies in San Diego, CA.

In 2024 he shot, edited, and presented his first short documentary "Mexico: Cultura Sin Fronteras" in the Digital Gym Cinema.

In 2024 he played the role of "Positive" in the play "El Chocolate" in a UCSD theater workshop.

In 2024 he was an extra in the upcoming Film "The Battle of Baktan Cross" by Producer Paul Thomas Anderson.

In 2025 he was Interviewed by the 2nd largest Mexican television network, TV Azteca Michoacán .
