‘Avatar: Way of the Water’ Blu-ray 3D Review
Image
Stars: Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Cch Pounder, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Brian Dalton, Jemaine Clement, Edie Falco | Written by James Cameron, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver | Directed by James Cameron

Director James Cameron returns to planet Pandora for Avatar: The Way of Water, the long-awaited follow-up to his 2009 smash hit Avatar. Boasting state-of-the-art special effects, the film is the first in a series of four planned sequels, though whether any of them will achieve the same level of record-breaking box office success as the original remains to be seen.

The film picks up more than a decade after the events of the original film, with Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) happily married and raising their four children in the forests of Pandora, according to the nature-loving ways of the Na’vi. However, when a clone of former adversary Col...

“The way of water connects all things. Before your birth, and after your death.”

It seems James Cameron has always had an obsession, and connection with water. From his 1989 sci-fi movie The Abyss to his 1997 blockbuster Titanic, water has been everywhere. Now Cameron dives deeper into water than he has dared to do before, taking us back to Pandora and back into a cinematic experience that only he is capable of achieving.

13 years after the release of its predecessor, Avatar: The Way of Water takes us back to the planet of Pandora, a world that never fully captured me 13 years ago, (I did miss the first one on the big screen). On rewatches over time however,...

The Dark and the Wicked Trailer Reveals New Horrors from The Strangers Director
Image
We have the first trailer for The Dark & The Wicked. This is the latest from director Bryan Bertino, which was recently picked up for distribution by Rlje Films and Shudder just ahead of its debut at this year's digital version of the Fantasia Film Festival. They made quick work of getting a trailer out in the world following the acquisition. And, based on the trailer, it's not hard to see why, as this looks to be a chilling, mysterious and horror-filled flick.

The trailer picks up with a woman on a seemingly isolated farm at night, peacefully humming a tune to herself. Peaceful though it may be, there is an ominous feel in the air. We quickly discover why, as things don't pan out well for her. In the aftermath of her death, a mystery begins to unravel. There is a great deal of unsettling imagery and unexplained happenings, with...

The Dark and the Wicked Is Coming Next from The Strangers Director Bryan Bertino
The Strangers writer-director Bryan Bertino's new nightmare The Dark & the Wicked has just snagged it's cast in the form of Marin Ireland (The Miseducation of Cameron Post), Michael Abbott Jr. (The Death of Dick Long), and Xander Berkeley (The Walking Dead). Bertino's new film follows the tale of terror centering on two siblings who are summoned back to the family farm to await the inevitability of their father's death, and what initially appears to be a timeless ritual of loss and remembrance turns out to be something very different.

While this has not been confirmed, I can only imagine that Ireland and Abbott Jr. will be playing the siblings mentioned above while Berkeley will be portraying the family patriarch at the end of his life. But again, this has not been confirmed at this time.

One of the main reasons I'm excited about today's news is the inclusion of actor Xander Berkeley.

A Splash of Reason From God Himself
Update posted on Facebook this past Saturday by the creator of Mr. Deity, Brian Dalton:   [Mr. Deity website | Mr. Deity on Facebook]

Why I do Mr. Deity... Today at 2:25pm  For those of you interested, this (see below) is the motivating, philosophical force behind why I do Mr. Deity. I really want people to rethink this stuff...

The following is an email I received this morning (I get stuff like this frequently) from someone who had seen the show. This is followed by my response...

All of us have sinned against our Creator. We have offended a Holy and Righteous God. We All rightfully deserve hell. God made Himself a man, in the person of His Son Jesus Christ, and took the punishment for Our sins upon Himself on a cross. The only way we can be made right with God, and in turn be with Him for Eternity is through Christ.

"Whoever believes in him is not condemned,...
