From bestselling novels to bold cinematic storytelling, Ja'Lisa Marie is a rising powerhouse reshaping the independent film landscape with fearless creativity and unapologetic vision.
She made her literary debut in 2019 with Dangerous Thirst, launching a gripping trilogy that concluded in April 2022. Craving a new medium to bring her stories to life, Ja'Lisa transitioned into film-graduating from the Coach John Alexander Screenwriting Academy in July 2022. Even before completing the program, she earned her first major writing credit with The Wrong One, starring Draya Michele and Jamal Woolard, and was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Screenwriting through the Push 24 Media Writers Room.
Ja'Lisa's creative fire didn't stop there. In both 2023 and 2024, she was named Visual Artist of the Year, a testament to her trailblazing spirit and artistic impact.
She quickly became a sought-after screenwriter in Houston's indie film scene, collaborating with standout creatives like Shannon Washington (Cash Hawk Films), Denise Mone't (Purple Hart Productions), and Johnnard Harper (JHarper Films), co-writing his chilling thriller Killer Brides (formerly Wedding Day Massacre).
Her breakout feature, Dangerous Thirst, is now streaming on Tubi, Prime Video, Roku TV, and Vudu. In April 2024, she made her directorial debut with Through Sickness and Hell, now available on Peacock, Prime Video, Tubi, Vudu, and Hoopla.
