Jody Mortara - is a 9 time award winning film maker in domestic and international film festivals: Actress, producer, director, writer and editor.
Her recent comedy film, Cocoa, which she also wrote, starred in, co directed/co edited/produced, is the culmination of all her talents.
Cocoa received the Dove Seal of Approval and a spot on MovieGuide for family films, as well as thumbs up on Rotten Tomatoes. Cocoa is streaming on Prime television, tub I and The Faith Channel. Located in the family/comedies/kids section.
In 2025, Jody and Madelynn Jones have launched an audio book business called; AudioExcursions where they create a cinematic world for the listener. Jody Writes, produces, edits and narrates these audio books, with Madelynn Jones creating original music and score. Jody has acted in movies and television shows for most of her career. Her film, "Cocoa" she won Best Actress at the Cannes Arts Fest, As well as best comedy, best women's film, best family picture, best independent film (twice), as well as awards of Merit for her script and women in film. Additional, the film "Vertical" where she plays Samantha Duncan, won the best International Feature Film award at the London Independent Film Festival. Jody has a heart for the special needs community and as such, she created a television show called Needs to Bake. The audience follows four Autistic young adults as they find a way to get their band off the ground by creating a baking empire!
Jody is also a singer and composer and worked with Freddie Ravel (Musical director for Al Jared and George Benson), Randy Emata (music department: "Becoming", Triple 9") and Julian Jackson (Producer, "The Button Band", "Babyface").
