Peacock isn’t the first out of the gate with a nonfiction project about the charges facing Sean “Diddy” Combs — that would be the ever-nimble TMZ, which released a special in April 2024 that was soon followed by others from 20/20 and Nightline.
But the NBCUniversal-owned streamer still made a splash on Thursday with the trailer for its upcoming Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy. The 90-minute documentary special, set for Jan. 14, promises to dig deep into the explosive claims Combs is facing, tracing the musician and entrepreneur’s rise to power and featuring insiders like Al B. Sure! — the ex-husband of Combs’ longtime girlfriend Kim Porter — a former bodyguard, a makeup artist, an intern, a winner on Making the Band and a childhood pal.

A new series, hosted by Khalik Allah, will tell the story of the rapper, the stage-crashing, secret weapon of the Staten Island group.
Eight-part series Odb: A Son Unique will explore the complex man also known as Ason Unique (and born Russell Tyrone Jones), who struggled with addiction and mental health and died in 2004, a few days before his 36th birthday.
The show, which launches on November 7, comes from Usg Audio, Novel and Talkhouse.
Host Khalik Allah, who started his career photographing the Wu Tang Clan, will explore the story of the young prankster who grew up in Brooklyn before becoming part of hip hop history. As well as the Wu Tang records, he also recorded three solo albums – Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version, Nigga Please and A Son Unique.

Last month, the organizers of the rap festival Rolling Loud announced that they wouldn’t be holding their annual event in New York this fall. “For the last few years, we’ve made some legendary moments happen in Queens,” a graphic posted to their official Twitter account says. “Sadly, due to logistical factors beyond our control, Rolling Loud will not return to New York in 2023.”
