White Space introduces us to the idea of the titular “white space” and that is, areas of space that somehow have remarkable healing properties that they can imbue on anyone who passed into them (for some reason). The only problem is there are space leviathans that protect them (for some reason). Our opening scene takes us 20 something years into the past for us to see a boy lose his dad to the space monsters. So, revenge it is then.

We have Moby Dick in space, revenge for revenge’s sake as it were.

I’ve got a trailer here for a cool-looking sci-fi film called Beyond White Space that follows a man hunting down a giant alien space creature and he’s looking for revenge.

It almost feels like a Moby Dick type story only it’s set in deep space. As the obsession to capture the giant creature grows, they find themselves traveling deeper and deeper into the dangerous unknown regions of space.

Here’s the story description:

2150 A.D. The Essex, a deep space fishing vessel for industry giant, AmberCorp, is ready to make its final harvest of the season. The ship brushes with a rare creature, mammoth in size and highly territorial. Could this be the same leviathan that killed Richard and Owen's father? To make matters worse, a vicious band of scavengers intercept the transmission and infiltrate the Essex, leaving them with nothing. With no cargo and few supplies,...

Vertical Entertainment has debuted the first official trailer for an indie sci-fi thriller titled Beyond White Space, an original concept from writers Ryan Colucci and Clay McLeod Chapman. Set in 2150 in another part of the galaxy - when a deep space fishing vessel is robbed by a gang of pirates, the Captain makes a daring decision to go after a rare and nearly extinct species. On the hunt, his obsession propels them further into space and danger as the crew spins into a downward spiral of mutiny and betrayal. That sounds like a very cool setup for a thrilling sci-fi adventure, but alas the trailer doesn't look that great. Paul Logan, Costas Mandylor, Bill Moseley, Vernon Wells, Nestor Serrano, Matt Willig, Tiffany Brouwer, Sydney Sweeney, John Omohundro and Devin Reeve are starring in 313 Films' The Horde (not to be confused with the French zombie film that goes by that name).

Now shooting in Los Angeles, the film follows Ex-Navy Seal, John Crenshaw (Logan) as he accompanies his girlfriend (Brouwer) and her students on a weekend nature-photography expedition deep into the woods.

Exclusive: La-based 313 Films are heading to Afm to meet with sales agents on feature debut The Horde, currently shooting in La.

The action-horror stars an ensemble of genre icons led by Paul Logan, Costas Mandylor, Bill Moseley, Vernon Wells, Nestor Serrano, Matt Willig, Tiffany Brouwer, Sydney Sweeney and John Omohundro.

Logan will play a former Navy Seal on a woodland getaway with his girlfriend and her students who come under attack from mutant humans.

Jared Cohn directs from Logan’s script. 313 Films’ Doreen Bennett and Beth A Thuna produce with Joel Bennett, Gabriel Campisi, Devin Reeve and Logan, while Sonia Thuna is the executive producer.

The film is scheduled to open in 2015.

It was a monumental year for Haven as it made its first panel appearance at San Diego Comic-Con. Haven not only hosted a fan party in honor of the occasion, they held their 1st panel at Sdcc, then rushed over for a 2nd panel at The Nerd Machine’s Nerd HQ — and managed to squish in time for fan scavenger hunt along the way. Everywhere you turned for the first couple of days at Sdcc there was a Haven event to be had. Fans of the show and newcomers were delighted with the large presence at San Diego Comic-Con and made sure that each appearance was a sold-out, jam-packed, and bursting at the seams event.

A few of us here from GeekTyrant will be hitting up WonderCon 2013, which takes place from Friday, March 29th to Sunday, March 31th at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. We went for the first time last year, and we had a great time, so we're all excited to be going back for more geek goodness!

Season 1 of Cinemax's sexy anthology series Femme Fatales is set to conclude with a two-part finale titled Visions Part 1 and Visions Part 2. In this double episode, Phony mentalist Foster Prentiss (Marc Crumpton) has visions of the murderous activities of sultry women Violet (Christine Donlon) and Tiffany (Catherine Annette). When he uses his psychic ability to blackmail them, he finds that the women have their own ideas about payback. We have an exclusive clip from Visions Part 1, which airs Friday, July 29th at 11pm. The seventh episode of Cinemax's Femme Fatales entitled Haunted airs tonight at 11 Pm Et on Cinemax, the first horror-themed story in this film noir anthology series about sexy and dangerous women. This Friday sees the seventh episode of Cinemax' new sexy series Femme Fatales, a pulpy, episodic anthology of tales where powerful and dangerous women use their survival instincts to escape perilous situations and exude their inner guile. 

The series, borne out of the creators of Femme Fatales Magazine draws its inspiration from film noir and graphic novels, placing the stories in contemporary setting.  Tanit Phoenix (Death Race 2)'s "Lilith" introduces each episode, which feature different casts and storylines, some of which are intertwined. This Friday marks an all-new episode of the hit Cinemax anthology series Femme Fatales, which airs at 11pm.
