Janet Fontaine
Award-winning performer Janet Fontaine's far-reaching versatility allows her to seamlessly transition among diverse projects in film, television and stage. Her screen credits include Project Greenlight's "The Uninvited," Richard Clark's "The Orin Leach Story" and Silas Howard's "Zero to Hero," among others, as well as starring in the web series "HOT Church." She is also in development on the short "Last Call," the piece having been specifically created to showcase the actress. Fontaine's stage work has brought regional recognition, with performances ranging from the highly comedic (Laura in TV veteran Duane Poole's "Some Enchanted Evening," Amy in "Company," Fred in "Once Upon a Mattress" and Mrs. Roach in the world premiere of "Pest Control...The Musical") to the moving and dramatic (Rose in Christopher Knopf's autobiographical "The Red Room," the Justice in "FEED," Hester Smit in "Hello and Goodbye" and multiple roles in "Lizard" - all West Coast premieres). A native of northern California, Fontaine leveraged her considerable figure skating Olympics training to become the youngest company member of the iconic Ice Capades national tour. Following a career-changing injury, Fontaine discovered theater while in college studying veterinary medicine. Fontaine's voice may be her most immediately recognizable feature, having recorded multiple audio books for Dove Audio/New Star Media, opposite such talent as Edward Asner. Additionally, she is penning her own stage piece, "Janet Fontaine: On Thin Ice," and the web series "Heeere's Bonnie!" Her most gratifying role is that of mother to her twenty-something son, William.
