Director Sarvesh Mewara, who is all geared up for the release of upcoming action drama ‘Tejas’ starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead, has spilled the beans on the inspiration behind the dialogue ‘When in Doubt, Think About The Nation’. Well-studded with nail-biting action sequences, a grand canvas, and an immensely thought-provoking story of national pride, the trailer of ‘Tejas’ has indeed arrived as a treat for the audiences. Apart from all these intriguing elements, what especially stayed with people was the heavy dialogues that profoundly triggered the spirit of national pride.
The dialogue ‘When in Doubt, Think About The Nation’ comes along with the story from Sarvesh, as it has been inspired by producer Ronnie Screwvala’s creation ‘Rang De Basanti’.
The 2006 movie ‘Rang De Basanti’ was written, and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. It stars Aamir Khan, Siddharth, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kapoor and British actress Alice Patten.

Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra on Tuesday turned nostalgic as his directorial Rang De Basanti completed 15 years of release.
"Rdb has grown more than a film. Even when it was released, it had a huge impact, not just to cinema goers but to the collective consciousness of the nation. The film has remained young and evergreen and I don't know how to describe it but it is a humbling experience to see your work remain relevant. #15YearsOfRDB," Mehra shared on Instagram.
In a separate post, he spoke about the soundtrack of the film composed by A R Rahman. "There are some songs you come across in your life that will make you emotional every time you listen to it. Mine happens to be Luka Chuppi. Whats your favourite song from Rang De Basanti's album?" the filmmaker wrote.
Mehra also shared a video of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar recording the song...

Flix Flashback As I watched the film again, 14 years later, I felt like I related to the characters’ struggles more than ever before.Geetika MantriGrowing up, I remember watching Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Rang De Basanti with my family when it came on TV. We laughed as the six college friends – played by Aamir Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, Sharman Joshi, and Siddharth Narayan – and Alice Patten, who played the British woman Sue Mckinley, goofed around. We cried when they suffered a loss; and ultimately, we were on the edge of our seats, rooting for them as they attempted to tell their truth to the world. Fourteen years later, my family and I could sit on the same couch, watching the same film, but with the knowledge that we aren’t on the same page. Becoming an adult for me has been inextricable from the political values...

Australian actress Emma Brown Garrett has Bollywood dreams in her eyes as she prepares to follow in the footsteps of foreign beauties like Barbara Mori, Alice Patten and Sarah Thomson and make the Indian film industry her next stop.
Although, she already made her film debut in India with a Bengali language film, "Shukno Lanka," it is the Hindi film industry that she is interested in conquering.
Brown is waiting for her first Hindi movie, "Dum Maro Dum" to be released. In this movie, she works opposite Abhishek Bachchan, son of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. Brown's next release, in all probability, will be "Yamla Pagla Deewana," in which she is paired opposite action hero Sunny Deol.
She is hopeful of getting good roles in Bollywood, where most of heroines are cast just to add to the glamour quotient of the film.

'Rang De Basanti' (2006)
Starring Aamir Khan, Alice Patten, Soha Ali Khan, Siddharth Narayan, Kunal Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni, R. Madhavan
The film's title means "Paint It Saffron"—saffron, one of the three colors in the Indian flag, symbolizes sacrifice, and the narrative revolves around this theme, but here, the sacrifice is not noble—as the film suggests—but a foolish waste. The film is well-made and well-acted, but its romanticization of futile violence for wrongheaded reasons makes it impossible to take it seriously.
A cute, blond British filmmaker, Sue (Alice Patten), wants to make a movie about five violent Indian revolutionaries who were executed for treason by the British in the 1920s and 30s, but she can't get funding for her project. "Gandhi sells," her bosses say to explain their rejection of her topic, and Sue doesn't stop for a second to think why that might be...

What's common between Alice Patten, Rachel Shelly, Ali Larter, Annabelle Wallace and Brande Roderick? Number of things: a) Each of them has been an import from the West, b) Each of them has acted in a Bollywood film as a leading lady and c) None of them has stepped back into the B-town ever again after her debut effort. The statistics say it all. Alice Patten and Rachel Shelly were seen opposite Aamir Khan in Rang De Basanti and Lagaan: Once Upon A Time In India respectively...

'Basanti' rules India nods
LONDON -- The cream of the Indian film industry gathered in the northern city of Sheffield during the weekend to watch Rang de Basanti sweep the boards at the International Indian Film Academy Awards, Bollywood's answer to the Oscars.
Attracting such stars as Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan and with a global television audience expected to top 500 million viewers in 110 countries, the awards Saturday underlined the increasing power and mainstream significance of the Bollywood genre.
Basanti is a politically charged epic about a group of disillusioned Indian youths who become nationalist freedom fighters united against British rule in the 1920s, and of a British filmmaker who tries to tell their story. The film picked up five nods on the night, including best picture, supporting actress for British star Alice Patten and musical direction.
Rani Mukherji was named best actress for Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, a film about the impact of infidelity, while Hrithik Roshan picked up the best actor award for his portrayal of a superhero in Krrish. The musical comedy Lage Raho Munnabhai earned Rajkumar Hirani the best director award, and director Vishal Bhardwaj was given a special honor for best adaptation for Omkara, his take on Shakespeare's Othello.
The awards, voted on by fans, were handed out in front of an audience of 12,000 in Sheffield's Hallam auditorium.
