Burden of Truth Will Continue, But Will It Air In the US?
Kristin Kreuk in Burden of Truth (2018)
Kristen Kreuk will continue to solve crimes on the addictive Canadian drama, Burden of Truth.

CBC, the show's home in Canada, has officially picked up a fourth season of the hit drama series.

Eight new episodes have been ordered for Burden of Truth Season 4, meaning that fans will get some much-needed resolution to everything that happened at the end of Burden of Truth Season 3.

"Both Burden of Truth and Diggstown look at the legal world through a distinct lens by highlighting systemic corruption, injustice and discrimination in the legal system, including anti-Indigenous and anti-Black racism," said Sally Catto, General Manager of Entertainment, Factual & Sports, CBC.

"These two series offer a unique take on the traditional crime procedural, and continue to engage audiences across the country each season with strong performances and original storylines."

Set in Manitoba and starring Kristin Kreuk, Burden of Truth follows Joanna Chang, a ruthless, big-city lawyer...

"Guess you're gunna have to stop the wedding." eOne in Canada has unveiled the first official trailer for an indie romance titled Lovesick, about a 30-something guy dealing with problems with his love life. Jacob Tierney stars as Dash, the guy at the center, who still has a thing for his ex-girlfriend, played by Quebecois actress Jessica Paré. Along the way he meets a new girl, of course, named Nora played by Ali Tataryn. The cast also includes Jay Baruchel, Rebecca Gibson and Adam Brooks. This looks charming and has some nice moments, but the story seems so typical - from one beautiful girl to the next, what is a guy to do? Us Briefs: Zag, 1492 line up '12/24'
Plus: Telefilm Canada announces 12 Cfff productions; and Arielle Boisvert on the rise at Brightlight Entertainment

Zag has joined forces with Chris Columbus’ 1492 Pictures and Ocean Blue Entertainment on the live-action-animation hybrid 12/24.

Matt Lieberman wrote the screenplay from an original idea by David Guggenheim, who will produce with Madhouse Entertainment. Columbus, Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe will produce for 1492 Pictures.

12/24 (pictured) follows two brothers who try to prove the existence of Father Christmas and set an elaborate trap on Christmas Eve.

Telefilm Canada has raised more than C$8m (Usd 5.9m) to produce 12 english-language films through its Canada Feature Film Fund (Cfff), writes Angela Lee.
