Biography

    • Grace Chow is a multi award-winning Asian Australian actor, critically acclaimed writer and voice over artist. She is most well known for playing Lily Lim in the CW's internationally acclaimed US series Good Cop/Bad Cop alongside Leighton Meester. Other notable credits include playing Constable Cindy Cheung in Australia's critically acclaimed television noir Mystery Road: Origins (2022) on the ABC and BBC4; and for her role as Wendy Hang in season 2 of the nation's hit drama series The Twelve (2024) starring Sam Neil on FOXTEL and BINGE. The same year she was awarded A Rising Star Award by the Casting Guild of Australia. Chow is also a critically acclaimed playwright and theatre-maker herself, notably winning the nationally prestigious Griffin Award in 2022 for THE PROMISE LAND. In the same year, Chow's original audio work HELL was featured in JUXTA at the BanksTown Arts Centre NSW, which was programmed for the Sydney Festival and SUBTERRAINS, the Bankstown 2022 Biennale. Grace was also a recipient of the National Studio Residency (ATYP), where her work Dance Ourselves to Death was published by Currency Press. In 2023, she worked as a writer and actor in the capacity of Associate Artist at Barking Gecko Theatre.

Chow's expansive career boasts an impressive array of performances across live art forms, including theatre, opera, and musical theatre on Australia's main-stages in both leading and supporting roles. Key performances of note (but not limited to) include leading The West Australian Opera's Our Little Inventor as the inventor Nell for the AWESOME FESTIVAL, playing Fan Wang in Ella Hickson's OIL at Black Swan State Theatre Company, as well as Varya in the State Company's adaptation of The Cherry Orchard for Perth Festival, and leading The Snow for Barking Gecko Theatre as Theodora. Grace also featured as Princess Fantastic in Barking Gecko's The Great Un-Wondering of Wilbur Whittaker and as Beth in David Milroy's hit musical PANAWATHI GIRL at Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, also for Perth Festival. Having originally trained at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Chow graduated as dux in the categories of writing, performance, and final works. Since then, she has built and cemented a reputation across Australia as an actor and writer of expansive talent, rigor and skill spanning comedic, experimental, and dramatic genres. Grace is also known for her advocacy in the arts sector regarding accessibility, interculturality and inclusion within flagship Australian arts companies, working as an associate artist or artist advisor.
