Dcu Clayface Star’s Spy Thriller Based on Real Events Dominates Streaming That Critics Hated
Image
On June 17, 2025, at the tail end of a long search, Dcu commander-in-chief James Gunn announced that Tom Rhys Harries was officially cast as Clayface. Although originally meant to be a part of Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson‘s Elseworlds franchise, the Gotham villain will now be taking up permanent residence in the Chapter One prime timeline.

Meanwhile, Harries’s casting piqued the curiosity of DC fans all over the world due to the Welsh actor’s relative anonymity in Hollywood. Now, his recent spy action thriller, Kandahar, is soaring on streaming platforms as fans try to become familiar with his work before Clayface lands in Dcu.

Despite the dismal ratings that Kandahar suffered in the 2 years since its release, the DC casting has indirectly raised Gerard Butler‘s spy profile on HBO as the film now dominates at #3 in the streamer’s top 10 movies charts by FlixPatrol as of July...

Gerard Butler’s Industry-Changing 45% Rotten Tomatoes Thriller Is a Surprise Streaming Hit
Image
While Gerard Butler has become synonymous with high-octane action films, it's easy to forget that he was once a straight-up romantic heartthrob. It's just as easy to forget that even now, during what's considered to be the prime of his action-hero career, he occasionally headlines the odd kids' movie and espionage thriller. Not too long ago, he starred in Joe Carnahan's Copshop, a Tarantino-esque noir that barely made a noise in theaters. He also played the lead role in director Ric Roman Waugh's Kandahar, a spy thriller inspired by real events. The movie is climbing up the streaming charts two years after its theatrical release domestically.

Kandahar was released on Prime Video in several overseas markets, and is now available to stream on HBO Max in South America. Thanks to its recent release in those markets, it has jumped to the number three spot on HBO Max's global rankings,...

‘Vikings’ Characters Ranked From Most to Least Likable
Image
Not every Viking was created equal. Some sailed straight into hearts with honor, wit, or killer braids, while others deserved a long voyage off a short fjord. Watching Vikings is like getting emotionally whiplashed every other episode, falling head over heels for a fierce shieldmaiden one moment and screaming at a power-hungry traitor the next. This legendary saga gave the world some of the most unforgettable warriors, rulers, lovers, and downright chaotic souls television has ever seen.

Now, sure, everyone has a soft spot for Ragnar’s soulful speeches and Lagertha’s spine of steel, but let’s not pretend there weren’t characters who made blood boil faster than a raid on Paris. And yes, even the most brutal characters somehow earned a weird kind of respect, or at least a memorable death scene. Whether it was pure charisma, a tragic arc, or just unmatched loyalty, likability came in many messy,...

‘Vikings’ Star’s Critically Trashed $160M Video Game Adaptation Is Now a Streaming Sleeper Hit
Image
The rise in the reputation of video game adaptations has been stark and recent, with the likes of The Last of Us helping many see the sub-genre as a worthwhile endeavor. However, ten years ago, this was far from the general consensus, with video game adaptations almost always ending in disaster. A case in point is Warcraft, directed by Duncan Jones, a big-budget adaptation of the beloved World of Warcraft.

Starring Travis Fimmel, best known for his turn as Ragnar Lothbrok in the beloved television series Vikingsand his recent work in Dune: Prophecy, the video game adaptation faced serious critical backlash upon arrival, with Wendy Ide of The Guardian calling it a "derivative, relentlessly dull-witted computer game spin-off." Sporting just 29% on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, its audience rating of 76% suggests a different story, as does the movie's recent streaming success, almost a decade since its release.

Officially, as of July...

Gerard Butler's $9 Million Action Thriller Critics Hated Refuses to Back Down on Free Streaming
Image
It's safe to say that Gerard Butler has easily established himself as one of the great action stars of this generation. From Olympus Has Fallen and its many sequels, to Plane and the Den of Thieves franchise, Butler is everywhere these days, much to the chagrin of critics who haven't been very kind to the actor's efforts. Case in point: Butler's 2023 action thriller Kandahar, which, despite being called things like "mindless" and "predictable," continues to be a streaming hit on Tubi.

Debuting on the free streaming service last month, Kandahar quickly became a smash, storming its way to the top of the charts. Now, a month later, it remains in the Top 10, sitting comfortably at #8 at the time of this writing, sandwiched between Jean-Claude Van Damme's 1994 sci-fi thriller Timecop, and Noah Wyle's 2004 action adventure romp The Librarian: Quest for the Spear.

Hitting theaters on May 26, 2023, Kandahar was inspired...

‘Vikings’ Star, 43, Reveals How the Series Rewrote Rollo at the Last Minute [Exclusive]
Image
Ragnar and Rollo’s love-hate relationship is one of the fiercest rivalries in Vikings, but according to Clive Standen, it almost didn’t exist the way we know it. In a candid interview with Collider’s Therese Lacsonat the Italian Global Series Festival, Standen pulled back the curtain on how his character Rollo was originally conceived — not as Ragnar’s brother, but as his much older cousin — and how the showrunner Michael Hirst made a last-minute change that reshaped the series forever.

“I did nearly nine auditions to play Ragnar and Travis came in right at the end. I think they offered it to Mads Mikkelsen at one point. Rollo was written to be like a 50-year-old cousin of Ragnar Lothbrok, because they weren't brothers in real life. And I think Donal Logue was offered that at one point, and then he came back as King Horik.”

Rollo was never...

'Vikings' Star Clive Standen, 43, Has the Perfect Spin-Off Pitch [Exclusive]
Image
If you thought Rollo was gone for good in Vikings, think again. According to Clive Standen, the door is still wide open for a return — and he’s got a killer idea for how to make it happen. In a recent conversation with Collider's Therese Lacsonat the Italian Global Series Festival, Standen not only reminded us that “Rollo never died on screen!” but pitched an entire spin-off series based on the historical legacy of his character. Standen, ever the champion of untapped Vikings lore, has been actively imagining where the story could go next — and he wants to go way back, to the seeds of what would eventually become the Norman dynasty.

“I’ve been championing, when we talk about spin-off shows and things like that. I just think he’d be the nice way into... The series I’d like to see Michael [Hirst] write, or anyone who can write about Vikings,...

Xavier Molyneux lands lead role in new Vikings series: Bloodaxe
Image
From Amazon and MGM comes Bloodaxe, an all-new Viking series from Vikings creator Michael Hirst and his son Heratio Hirst. The series, set decades after the original Vikings show and decades before its spinoff Vikings: Valhalla, follows Eric Bloodaxe, one of the most famous Vikings that ever lived.

While no casting had been officially announced, Deadline has revealed that Australian actor Xavier Molyneux has landed the leading role. Molyneux is a largely unknown actor probably best known for his recurring role in the soap Neighbours. His casting recalls that of Australian actor Travis Fimmel, who landed the lead role of Ragnar Lothbrok in the original Vikings series.

The Amazon/MGM series follows Bloodaxe and his wife Gunnhild, Mother of Kings, as they fight for the throne of Norway, a throne sought after by several different factions. The conflict draws attention across Scandinavia and England. Prepare for a series rife with blood,...

Now, the new Norse series has offered a bloody good update.

Image
Years after Ragnar Lothbrok’s death in Vikings Season 4, we have still not recovered from the shock. The snake pit? The wild speech? And the haunting calm in his eyes? Dune: Prophecy revealed the show's biggest twist right at the start
Image
HBO's Dune prequel series Dune: Prophecy was filled with enough secrets and plot twists to do a Bene Gesserit proud, but according to showrunner Alison Schapker, one of the show's biggest reveals was teased right from the start.

Schapker was part of a recent FYC panel to talk up Dune: Prophecy ahead of the Emmys, along with Emily Watson (Valya Harkonnen), Olivia Williams (Tula Harkonnen), Travis Fimmel (Desmond Hart), producer Jordan Goldberg, costume designer Bojana Nikitović, production designer Tom Meyer, and VFX supervisor Michael Enriquez. Variety has published a report of some of the biggest moments from the panel, including Schapker's tease about a hidden Easter egg that hints at the identity of Desmond Hart in his very first appearance in the show.

Late in the series, it's revealed that Hart is none other than the son of Tula Harkonnen, who had a love affair with a member of House Atreides as a young woman.

‘Dune: Prophecy’ Showrunner on the Hidden Easter Egg That Hinted at Desmond Hart’s True Heritage
Image
“Dune: Prophecy” spoiler alert incoming! Desmond Hart (Travis Fimmel), the warrior, is Tula Harkonnen’s (Olivia Williams) secret son, and is half Harkonnen and half Atreides.

But there were hidden hints revealing his identity from the get-go.

Showrunner Alison Schapker was speaking at the show’s FYC and revealed how there had been an Easter egg from the beginning, and it would be the very thing that connects him to his mother, and audiences finally learn who he is. She revealed, “He walks up to the palace, and he has a little piece of black cloth, and it takes the whole season for you to really figure out where that comes from, but that’s a connection to his mom.”

That was just one of the key reveals during the panel moderated by Variety’s senior artisans editor Jazz Tangcay. Schapker was joined by Emily Watson (Valya Harkonnen), Williams, Fimmel,...

Olivia Williams was more than happy to be ‘the wise old bird’ on the ‘Dune: Prophecy’ set
Image
The first season of Dune: Prophecy led to a revelation that redefined HBO series core relationship and shed new light on the origin of its central villain.

Throughout the first six episodes of the series, which was renewed for a second season at the end of last year, viewers watched a Tula Harkonnen (Olivia Williams), dedicated member of the Sisterhood and literal sister to Valya (Emily Watson), played surrogate mother to the young acolytes of her order.

And there was a very good reason for that.

Toward the end of the season, a flashback revealed that not only did Tula give birth to the child of a Atreides, but the fire-wielding Desmond Hart (Travis Fimmel) was that baby.

The two were eventually reunited, but under terrible conditions. Hart ordered Tula's arrest, no doubt setting up more confrontation in Season 2.

'Dune: Prophecy' Star Josh Heuston Reveals Season 2 Filming Date
Image
Set in the same universe as Denis Villeneuve's Oscar-winning movie franchise, Dune: Prophecyis a prequel series that aired on HBO and Max last year to generally positive reviews. The network moved quickly to renew the epic action series for Season 2 before the finale, and it seems the big-budget production will begin rolling cameras sooner rather than later. Dune: Prophecy takes place 10,00 years before the events of the film series and follows the origins of the Bene Gesserit, a super-powered sociopolitical and religious entity with far-reaching influence across the galaxy.

During an interview with Collider, Dune: Prophecy star Josh Heuston, who portrays Constantine Corrino in the show, revealed that Season 2 will begin filming this August and continue until the end of the year. There is no release date yet, but fans can probably expect the show to return on HBO and Max sometime in 2026. For reference, the first season took...

‘Dune: Prophecy’ Star Reveals When Season 2 Will Start Filming [Exclusive]
Image
Dune: Prophecy wrapped up its first season before Christmas last year, and the show was renewed for Season 2 mere days before the episode premiered on Max. Details about the second season of Dune: Prophecy have been sparse, as Max is playing things close to the vest when it comes to revealing new details to the public. However, the second season of the Dune prequel series just got a major update from one of its stars. Collider’s Steve Weintraub had the chance to chat with Josh Heuston, who plays Constantine Corrino in the series, while Heuston was promoting his upcoming project, Dangerous Animals. While refraining from using the Voice to get any new information, Weintraub asked Heuston if he was in Season 2, and he didn’t hold back on confirming his status and even revealing when the next installment would begin filming:

Alec Baldwin's Controversial Western Receives Encouraging Reaction From Moviegoers Despite Poor Critical Reception
Image
There are some projects that simply can't be separated from the tragedy surrounding them. Whether it's a legal battle, a feud, or even a death, the project is forever tied to its controversy.

One of those cases is Alec Baldwin's latest release, the controversial Western Rust. The movie had been long in development, as it started filming in October 2021, but everything was halted when Baldwin accidentally fired a live round from a prop gun on the set, injuring the director and killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The film's journey to the theater was long, and after an unimpressive reception from the critics, Rust received more encouraging reactions from the audience on Rotten Tomatoes.

Rust officially premiered in theaters on May 2 and debuted with a low score of 56% from the critics on the review-aggregator website. That automatically led to a "rotten" badge. As more reviews came in,Rust's score further dropped...

Alec Baldwin's Controversial Western 'Rust' Earns Abysmal Box Office Debut
Image
The history surrounding the movie Rust has put a stain on it after more than three years since an incident on set ended with a filmmaker tragically losing their life. The film first made news in 2021 after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed following the accidental discharge of a prop gun that the film's star, Alec Baldwin, believed was loaded with blank rounds. In the years since the tragic accident, Rust has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, and that continues with the movie's arrival in cinemas. Rust was finally released over the weekend, but the film's box office haul indicates that many people chose not to show up.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Rust grossed a mere $25,000 during its opening weekend while showing in 115 theaters. The film ranked 27th on the box office chart, behind the documentary Secret Mall Apartment, which managed to gross $29,750 on just 39 screens. In Rust's defense,...

Alec Baldwin's Controversial Film Gets More Bad News at Box Office After Leaving Critics Unimpressed
Image
This weekend’s box office saw Thunderbolts*easily take the No. 1 spot with $76 million from 4,330 theaters. However, it was another story for Rust, the problematic film from actor and writer Alec Baldwin. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Rust, directed and co-written by Joel Souza, took in $25,000 in its debut weekend in limited release. The film had a budget of around $8 million.

The $25,000 total comes from just 115 theaters after the movie was finally released four years after its star, Baldwin, accidentally discharged a weapon on set that killed the film’s cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, and wounded Souza. Baldwin thought the weapon contained only blanks, but the chamber contained a live round of ammunition.

The Lawsuit was Ultimately Settled

A lawsuit followed the events, with Hutchins’ family settling and all charges being dropped against Baldwin. Baldwin paid a settlement to the cinematographer’s family, and Hutchins’ husband, Matthew Hutchins, was made an executive producer on the film.

Halyna Hutchins’ Mother & Sister Encourage You To See ‘Rust’

Relatives of Halyna Hutchins, the cinematographer tragically killed on the Santa Fe set of Western Rust, have come out in support of the film, encouraging movie lovers to see it.

Olga Solovey, the Dp’s mother, said, “I watched my daughter’s stunning film twice. I was so happy for the success of my daughter because it was filmed so beautifully. I would want everybody to watch it because it was the dream of my daughter and she would want people to see it.”

Solovey continued, “I would want people to see the talent, the beauty, the success, and I’m just so immensely proud of [Halyna]. She had a very specific style of cinematography and she saw the world differently. She could see and capture how the sun sets and how animals behaved. She saw the beauty of it all. She could capture it. She could capture nature. I like the film.

Alec Baldwin’s Tragedy-Stricken ‘Rust’ Debuts with a Subpar Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
Rusthas become one of the most talked-about films in years due to the tragic events surrounding its filming. Four years after an accidental shooting left the film's cinematographer Halyna Hutchinsdead and director Joel Souza injured, the Western has finally been released courtesy of distributor Falling Forward Films. But viewers appear to be unmoved, as Rust's Rotten Tomatoes score is largely underwhelming.

At the time of this article's publication, Rust is sitting at a "rotten" critic's score of 48% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 21 reviews. However, it should also be noted that the film currently has no audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, so there is a chance that audiences could end up liking it far more than the critics, as is the case with many films. The film is as "about as standard a Western as you can imagine, one that hits all the narrative beats and clichés expected of the genre,...

After On-Set Tragedy and Controversial Release, Alec Baldwin's Western Gets Unfortunate Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
Alec Baldwin's latest film, Rust, has just hit theaters. However, the film had been long in the making following the fatal shooting accident on set and the controversial release.

Rust has officially released in theaters on May 2, and it's already not a favorite. The Western, which was written and directed by Joel Souza, stars Baldwin in the leading role, besides his role as co-writer and producer. As Rust hit theaters, the movie debuted with an unfortunate score of 56% from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes, which makes the movie considered "rotten." After this debut score, the number has begun to sink lower.

Rust had its world premiere last year on Nov. 20, 2024, at the Camerimage Festival in Poland, but to smaller audiences. The movie's release at the festival was also controversial, as Hutchins' former cinematography peers were wondering if premiering the movie was the right thing. Now, the movie is officially...

Alec Baldwin's Controversial Western Movie Debuts With Middling Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
Alec Baldwin is best known for his leading and supporting roles in a variety of genres, from comedy to drama, in both film and television. He's received a whopping 20 Emmy nominations for his work on the sitcoms Will & Grace, winning three for playing network executive Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock, and Donald Trump on the sketch comedy series, Saturday Night Live. Baldwin also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for playing a casino manager in the 2003 film, The Cooler.

Baldwin's film career began in 1988 with a series of roles in Beetlejuice, Working Girl, and Married to the Mob before playing Jack Ryan in The Hunt for Red October (1990). Alec Baldwin's Controversial Western 'Rust' Gets Middling Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
It's no secret that Rust is one of the most controversial projects to get completed in recent memory due to the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. However, despite that fact, critics have weighed in on the final product, and it seems to be a heavily divisive entry in the Western genre. It's hard to separate the behind-the-scenes tragedy from what is on-screen, but thankfully, it seems Hutchins' work is getting the bulk of the praise despite mixed reviews.

As of this writing, Rust debuted with a 50% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes based on 20 reviews, which gives it a rotten label. The middling score is reflective of the deeply controversial nature of the film and everything surrounding it. Some critics were quick to point out the film's "bare-bones" plot, while others were impressed by the film's grim visual aesthetic. Meanwhile, MovieWeb's own review by Julian Roman praised Rust as...

‘Rust’ Is Both a Tribute and a Major Tragedy
Image
There is an alt-timeline in which Rust, writer-director Joel Souza’s pulpy and pathos-fueled Western, is just another tale of an outlaw in his autumn years. It’s simply the latest entry in a genre whose century-plus history is filled with similarly modest sagebrush epics. After a brief theatrical run, a slightly longer tenure on VOD and a lifetime of cable re-runs every Father’s Day, this frontier opus would trot off into the sunset as a footnote in Alec Baldwin’s post-30 Rock, pre-reality TV show career. You know,...

Rust Review: A Highlight Reel of Halyna Hutchin’s Phenomenal Cinematography But Not Much Else
Image
Plot: A boy left to fend for himself and his younger brother following their parents’ deaths in 1880s Wyoming goes on the run with his long-estranged grandfather after he is sentenced to hang for the accidental killing of a local rancher.

Review: Most people will already know of Rust due to the controversy that has long surrounded the project. Halyna Hutchins‘ death is an absolute tragedy and is a dark cloud hanging over the film. Like Brandon Lee with The Crow or the tragedy of Twilight Zone: The Movie, some things will always be associated with their respective films, and some people will never get past it. And it’s really up to the individual viewer as to whether or not they want to watch the film given the circumstances, but it should be noted that profits on the film will be going to Hutchins’ family. But does Rust stand on its own?...

Joel Souza Reflects on Finishing Rust as Film Opens in Limited Release
Halyna Hutchins
More than three years after an on-set shooting killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza, Rust is opening to the public. The film will be available through a limited theatrical release beginning May 2 and for digital purchase on platforms including Apple TV and Prime Video starting May 1.

Souza, who co-wrote the script and directed the film, has spoken about the decision to complete the project following the incident. “I’d been repelled by the thought of going back,” he said in an interview with The Guardian. “But now it started to appeal. And I couldn’t live with the idea of someone else doing it.”

The October 2021 shooting occurred when Alec Baldwin discharged a prop revolver that was believed to be safe. A live round was in the chamber, resulting in Hutchins’ death and Souza’s injury. Production was suspended, and the film’s future was uncertain until Hutchins’ family encouraged its completion.

‘Rust’ Review: Tragedy Hit The Set But Now Alec Baldwin’s Western Hits The Screen – What’s The Verdict?
Image
Rust is certainly one independently made movie that doesn’t need publicity.

The Western starring Alec Baldwin, who also came up with the story and serves as a producer, was hit by tragedy during production in October 2021 when Baldwin’s prop gun discharged during a rehearsal, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and also injuring director-screenwriter Joel Souza. Production on the film halted immediately and finally resumed in April 2023. Legal cases involving Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, both charged with manslaughter, ended with Baldwin’s case being dismissed and Gutierrez-Reed found guilty.

The events of this tragedy made headlines around the globe and certainly raised doubts that the film itself would be finished, let alone see the light of day. In the end it was decided that to honor Hutchins’ final work the film would be completed, no profits would be shared by the original producers, and Hutchins’ widower Matthew Hutchins would...

‘Rust’ Review: Alec Baldwin Plays a Cold Outlaw With a Heart of Gold in a Buddy-Movie Western That Lopes Along More Than It Takes Wing
Image
“Rust,” as the whole world knows, is a movie that was the seat of a horrific on-set tragedy. During the shooting of a scene at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Alec Baldwin, who is the film’s star and one of its producers, discharged a gun that was being used as a prop and that somehow contained live rounds. The weapon went off, killing the film’s cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, and injuring the director, Joel Souza.

Now that “Rust” has been completed and is finally being released, this terrible event regrettably but inevitably places “Rust” on that small but dicey roster of films that become famous because someone got violently killed in the process of making them. Is it part of the tainted karma of this category that the films themselves end up struggling to justify their existence? Vic Morrow was beheaded by a helicopter blade...

‘Rust’ Review: The Specter of a Real-Life Death Haunts This Tragic Western
Image
It’s nearly impossible to critique a film like Joel Souza’s western “Rust” because, in many respects, the film itself feels irrelevant. No matter how “Rust” turned out the inescapable truth is that on October 21, 2021 a tragedy occurred on set, ending the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The film’s star, Alec Baldwin, was rehearsing a shot, brandishing a gun in front of the camera. It fired. It should not have. Regardless of who is to blame — which is a very important question, but not one I’m qualified to answer — Hutchins died from her wounds. The film was put on hold, then finally resumed production, and now… here we are.

Is it a good movie? That depends on your definition of “good,” I suppose. It’s hard to celebrate any production where such an unthinkable, avoidable event took place. And it’s nearly impossible to stop thinking about...

‘Rust’ Review: Alec Baldwin Leads a Competent but Uninspired Western Haunted by Death and Scandal
Image
In another timeline, Joel Souza’s Rust would come and go with mild fanfare and maybe some critical praise. The film follows a 13 year-old boy (Patrick Scott McDermott) who runs from the law — he’s been sentenced to death after accidentally shooting a local rancher — with his estranged grandfather (Alec Baldwin). It’s a no-frills Western, a classic story of cowboys and outlaws that revels in gorgeous scenery and the Puritanical moral dilemmas foundational to much of this nation’s mythology.

But Rust is a more fraught cultural product. Four years ago, Baldwin, who co-wrote as well as produced the film, accidentally discharged a weapon he thought only had blanks. A live round was in the chamber, and the bullet fatally wounded cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and also hit Souza. What followed was a dramatic, closely reported story that revealed on-set negligence and raised questions about industry practices around gun safety.

All 6 Seasons of ‘Vikings’, Ranked From Worst to Best
Image
Not every season of Vikings is created equal. Some are legendary, while others feel like a never-ending winter. Over six action-packed seasons, this historical drama delivered brutal battles, jaw-dropping betrayals, and more shocking deaths than you could count on one severed hand. But let’s be real: any show that lasts this long is bound to have its highs and lows.

Vikings started strong, weaving a tale of power, ambition, and blood-soaked adventure. Still, as the years went on, it faced the usual long-running TV pitfalls, repetitive storylines, shifting main characters, and that tricky balance between historical accuracy and dramatic flair.

Gustaf Skarsgård, Alexander Ludwig, Jordan Patrick Smith, Marco Ilsø, Alex Høgh Andersen, and Linnéa Lindström in Vikings (Credits- History)

That doesn’t mean the show ever completely lost its edge. Even at its weakest, Vikings had enough gripping moments to keep fans coming back for more. Whether it was the sheer unpredictability of battle,...

Alec Baldwin's Rust Reveals First Trailer Ahead of Controversial Premiere
Image
On October 21, 2021, a fatal accident occurred on the set of Alec Baldwin's latest film, Rust. The actor accidentally discharged a live round from a prop revolver which killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. Despite the tragic incident and the subsequent, highly-publicized trial, the film will still be released, and the studio has just debuted a trailer which shows Baldwin in the film's leading role.

The trailer marks the first footage that has been released to general audiences since the 2021 incident. The film did premiere at Poland's Camerimage international film festival, but to a much smaller audience. Since the film is a Western, the minute-and-nineteen-second-long trailer features horseback riding, grand desert vistas, and a fair amount of shooting – which some viewers might find particularly hard to watch considering the tragedy. The film and its premiere have been criticized, though others have supported its release as a way...
