The actor and executive producer of Prime Video series “Outer Range” helms one episode of the upcoming Season 2, which follows his character Royal Abbott struggling to keep his family together after a sci-fi reckoning on their ranch.

“Dune: Part Two” star Brolin leads the series alongside Lili Taylor, Imogen Poots, Tamara Podemski, Lewis Pullman, Tom Pelphrey, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, and Will Patton.

The official synopsis for Season 2 reads: “‘Outer Range’ centers on Royal Abbott (Brolin), a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable phenomenon at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness, in the form of a dark void. The highly anticipated new episodic anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead will premiere Sunday, August 14 at 9 pm Et/8c on AMC and AMC+, with the first two episodes streaming that same night on AMC+.

Subsequent episodes will stream one week early, beginning Sunday, August 21.

Tales of the Walking Dead consists of six original one-hour standalone episodes focused on both new and established characters within the walker apocalypse.

"Each episode has its own distinct tone and point of view -- but the stakes are high in each story, pushing new, indelible characters with relentless, life-threatening choices and situations," the logline reads.

AMC said Monday that the latest installment of its The Walking Dead universe, the episodic anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead, will premiere Sunday, August 14 at 9 p.m. on AMC and AMC+.

A “Tales of the Walking Dead” crew member was taken to a hospital after an accident on set, Variety has confirmed.

The accident occurred on Monday night after filming had wrapped for the day. It involved a riverboat and a plank connecting the boat to the pier. The crew member fell into the water and was taken to a hospital via ambulance, but she is in stable condition. A marine safety crew was present when the incident occurred and is currently investigating what happened.

Production on the series was suspended on Tuesday and resumed again on Wednesday morning.

Samantha Morton is returning to the Walking Dead Universe: She’ll reprise her role as villainous Alpha in an episode of the upcoming six-episode anthology series “Tales of the Walking Dead,” AMC confirmed to TheWrap on Friday.

Alpha, who led a group called The Whisperers that wore zombie skins to avoid being eaten by walkers, appeared in Seasons 9 and 10 of AMC’s hit series “The Walking Dead,” which is now in its 11th and final season.

Details of Morton’s episode have not been released yet. Each episode of “Tales of the Walking Dead” will be a standalone, but are all set in the same zombie apocalypse world. Samantha Morton is returning to the world of “The Walking Dead,” with the actress set to appear in the upcoming anthology series “Tales of the Walking Dead” at AMC.

Morton will star in an episode of “Tales of the Walking Dead” as Alpha, the villainous character she played in Seasons 9 and 10 of the hit zombie apocalypse series. Alpha was the leader of The Whisperers, a group that survived by donning zombie skin in order to move freely among the undead and then attacking other living humans for resources. The Me Too movement has done a lot to raise awareness of sexual exploitation and abuse in the film industry, but cultural understanding of how it happens still has a long way to go. Based on real events that happened to a friend of director Deborah Kampmeier, this film explores some of the factors that make young actresses vulnerable to abuse and some of the reasons why they might not wish to talk about it afterwards.

It begins with Rosa (Annarosa Mudd) shaving off her long dark hair, piercing her tongue and putting on dark lipstick and shades, a traditional cinematic post-trauma transformation which now has added reference because of the particular resemblance it conjures up. Blue Bug Entertainment has partnered with American Content Media for the worldwide distribution of Blue Bug Entertainment’s slate of 15 animated feature films over the upcoming eight years, Variety has learned exclusively.

Three films will be green-lit for production per year, with the first film expected to be released in 2023. Production budgets are expected to average $15 million.

“Coupled with a strong partnership with American Content Media for wide theatrical release in the USA and sales internationally, this is a major breakthrough for animated film production and worldwide distribution for Blue Bug Entertainment and the Quebec Film Industry,” said Jean Aubert, CEO and producer of Blue Bug Entertainment, the Montreal-based animation company.

The series will have a two-night premiere on Feb. 11 and Feb. 12, and air on Wednesdays going forward.

Each season of the drama will chronicle the stirring romance of one couple, with each episode spanning a single day. The first season stars Xosha Roquemore and Alano Miller as a couple that meets in Los Angeles, with the full season spanning five years. Additional cast includes Cicely Tyson, Michael Beach, Anne-Marie Johnson and Kellee Stewart.
