Over the last 70 years, we've seen many versions of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures In Wonderland on our screens. There are always new ways to experience a timeless classic, and Japan is bringing a different take on the story in anime form. Titled Dive in Wonderland, the new movie is set to debut this summer and, in order to tease it, P.A. Works decided to reveal a slate of character looks along with a promotional video. The anime movie is yet to get a release date on this side of the world.
The images reveal the character designs of Dive in Wonderland by artists Kosuke Kawazura and Mio Fujishina. In them, we can see some pretty iconic characters like the White Rabbit — albeit a lot more technological with a smartphone in hand, tablet and smartwatch — the purple (but not striped) Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, The Queen of Hearts and many others.

Anime often serves as a vibrant window into Japanese culture, offering more than just entertainment — it reflects centuries-old traditions, values and societal norms. For those unfamiliar with these cultural nuances, certain anime might feel like they lack depth. However, understanding the historical and social contexts behind them transforms these stories into richer, more immersive experiences. From the reverence for tradition to the subtleties of interpersonal dynamics, Japanese culture breathes life into narratives in ways that resonate far beyond the screen.
Many anime are deeply rooted in Japan’s unique customs, philosophies and aesthetics, making them even more compelling when viewed through a cultural lens. Whether it’s the meticulous preservation of art forms, the weight of historical events or the quiet beauty of everyday rituals, these elements add layers of meaning that might otherwise go unnoticed. Exploring these cultural threads reveals that anime isn’t just a form of escapism...

However, none have shaped popular perception as significantly as Disney’s 1951 animated film. Starting out as a 2021 manga series, Blue Box has become a slice-of-life romance hit. It's no wonder that, three years after its debut, the series has finally received an anime adaptation. This cements the sports-oriented story as a modern classic, especially for international audiences. Now, the anime adaptation is nearly halfway into the run of its first season, causing many to want to know where they can watch it.
Streaming the new anime series Blue Box is a lot easier than most might imagine, but it's notably missing from one streaming platform in particular. It's now set to air its 10th episode, allowing viewers to quickly catch up with its story. Likewise, it will likely end its first season at one point in particular, meaning that newfound fans can also "skip ahead" to read more of the story in the form of its source material.

Tohru Furuya, the long-time voice actor for Yamcha in the Dragon Ball series, has been replaced following a scandal that surfaced earlier this year.
According to an official statement from the Dragon Ball Daima website, Ryota Suzuki will take over the role of Yamcha, starting with the first episode of the new series, set to air on Oct 11, 2024.
