They’re always up for a smashing good time, and on Friday (June 20) Ashley Tisdale and Christopher French headed over to the Westin Bonaventure Hotel for the 2014 Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards Gala.

The betrothed lovers opted for matching black and grey ensembles as they posed for photos ahead of the big event.

And though the 41st Daytime Emmys was slammed by multiple media outlets with words like “trainwreck” and “disaster,” host Kathy Griffin manned the hosting duties and made sure the winners got their due recognition.

The biggest winner at Sunday’s live-streamed Daytime Emmy Awards, emceed by Kathy Griffin, was Steve Harvey, who took home two prizes: one for his eponymous talk show and one as the host of the syndicated Family Feud. Among soap operas, The Young and the Restless dominated, nabbing Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor (Billy Miller), and Outstanding Supporting Actress (Amelia Heinle), among other awards.

The 41st annual Daytime Emmy Awards were held Sunday at the Beverly Hills Hilton, hosted by expletive-happy comedienne Kathy Griffin and streamed online at DaytimeEmmys.net, home of the most dreadful pre-show ever.

CBS’ The Young and the Restless came away as this year’s big winner, grabbing gold five times at Sunday night’s main gala, including for Outstanding Drama and for Lead Actor. Sister sudser The Bold and the Beautiful was shut out at the big show, but had scored four statuettes at Friday night’s Creative Arts awards ceremony (see winners list).

The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday evening. When it was announced that this year’s Daytime Emmys would be streamed online (and not broadcast), surely no one imagined that the accompanying red carpet pre-show would set the bar so unacceptably low, with an interview team that would lob rape “jokes,” talk about “go[ing] lesbian” for one actress and quite possibly not recognize more than five of the people they spoke to.

Celebrating the best on the small screen, the 2014 Daytime Emmy Awards announced its nominees on Thursday (May 1).

"The Young and the Restless" led the nominations list with a whopping 26 nods, while "The Bold and the Beautiful" followed with 18.

Meanwhile, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "CBS Sunday Morning" earned nominations in their respective categories.
