Derek's first produced screenplay, a college film, was a feature length script called 'Love Squared'. A romantic comedy set against the backdrop of a Rubik's Cube World Championship. Derek also served as director on the film.
Derek was chosen as one of the 2017 participants in the Writer's Guild of Canada TSC Writer's Room Intensive, getting an opportunity to work in a Kim's Convenience writers' room under showrunner's Ins Choi and Kevin White.
Besides screenwriting, Derek Robertson is also a licensed private investigator.
