From director Nicholas Gyeney, the supernatural thriller The Activated Man marks one of the final appearances of horror legend Tony Todd, and it’s now available on VOD.

The cast includes genre icons Tony Todd (Candyman), Sean Young (Blade Runner), and four-time Jason Voorhees actor Kane Hodder, alongside Andrew Keegan (10 Things I Hate About You), Vladimir Kulich (Vikings), Sab Shimono (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III), Ivana Rojas (This Fool), and Scott Brown as the ‘Fedora Man.’

In the film, “Ors (Jamie Costa) struggles with the grief from losing his best friend and beloved dog Louis to cancer.

From director Nicholas Gyeney, the supernatural thriller The Activated Man is headed our way this December, and the official trailer introduces us to the Fedora Man this week.

The Activated Man will have an exclusive premiere at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills on Thursday, December 12th, and will have a weeklong theatrical run in Los Angeles, as well as in Tempe, Az, Huntingdon, Pa, and other cities across the country beginning the following day: Friday the 13th. Two special opening-day screenings in Los Angeles on Friday the 13th will be fan events with Gyeney and star Kane Hodder in attendance to meet fans.

Independent film “The Activated Man” is set to have its worldwide theatrical premiere starting December 13th. The film explores themes of grief and spirituality through the lens of supernatural thriller. Starring Jamie Costa as a man grappling with the loss of his dog, “The Activated Man” follows his character as he experiences unsettling visions and a blurred line between reality and the paranormal.

Directed by Nicholas Gyeney and produced through his company Mirror Images Ltd, “The Activated Man” has already received critical acclaim on the film festival circuit. It has won around 30 awards total, including top honors for horror/thriller at the Glendale International Film Festival and HorrOrigins Film Festival in Tucson. New York-based distributor Stonecutter Media acquired North American distribution rights based on this festival success.

In addition to its theatrical run starting December 13th, the film will also be available to rent or buy on cable and digital platforms.

The film stars Costa as an everyman grappling with the loss of his dog. His grief triggers unsettling visions, blurring the line between mourning and supernatural forces.

The film is executive produced by Gyeney’s Mirror Images Ltd, with Gyeney and Kelsey Aho serving as producers.

The Popcorn Frights Film Festival is back this year, both in-person and virtually, from August 8-18. If the first wave wasn’t already an idicator, the fest is going big to celebrate its tenth anniversary, and the second wave of programming unleashes even more exciting events and premieres.

Synopsis: Scrat’s epic pursuit of his elusive acorn catapults him outside of Earth, where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the planet.

“Beta Test” follows Seattle-based video game champion Max Troy (Larenz Tate) who is about to test the latest release from global juggernaut Sentinel, but he quickly realizes that the game isn’t like any other: Whenever he completes a new task, real world events mirror them. Soon, Max discovers that Sentinel is at the center of a global conspiracy and realizes the game’s protagonist Orson Creed (Manu Bennett) is actually a real person. “Beta Test” is written and directed by Nicholas Gyeney. His previous credits include “The Falling,” about a police officer forced to decide the fate of the entire world by battling forces of good and evil, and “The Penitent Man,” about a psychologist who wants to change the course of his future. “Beta Test” stars Manu Bennett, best known for playing Deathstroke on the CW’s superhero TV series “Arrow,” Gallic gladiator Crixus in the Starz series “Spartacus,” and orc commander Azog the Defiler in Peter Jackson’s “Hobbit” trilogy. Co-star Larenz Tate has previously appeared in Best Picture-winner “Crash,” “Meance II Society,” “Ray,” and a recurring role on the FX series “Rescue Me.”
