Devin Leigh(III)

Devin first began acting at Daniel Wright Junior High in his hometown
of Lincolnshire, just thirty miles outside Chicago, Illinois. While
attending Junior High he performed in such musicals as "When Silence is
Golden", "Bye Bye Birdie", "Peter Pan", and "The Music Man." His
parents recognized his talent and urged him to audition to attend High
School at the Chicago Academy for the Arts in downtown Chicago. Devin
was accepted to the Academy in 2002 and opened the theater season as
Eugene in Neil Simon's "Brighton Beach Memoirs." Throughout his four
years at the Academy Devin appeared in such plays as "Three Sisters",
"The Dining Room", "Our Country's Good", "Macbeth", "Antigone", "All in
the Timing", "Santa Land Diaries", "Rime of the Ancient Mariner",
"Noises Off" and more. He has worked behind the scenes on productions
of "Arabian Nights", "Kid Simple", "The Laramie Project", "Pippin", and
"Company" to name a few. He made a stage directing debut at the academy
in 2004 with productions of "Cover" by Jeffrey Sweet, and "The Drummer"
by Athol Fugard. Also a writer, Devin has written several different
plays, two of which have been produced at the Academy. After graduating
from the Chicago Academy in 2006 Devin moved to Los Angeles to study in
film. After a year of acting with such teachers as Eric Morris and
Scott Sedita Devin has grown immensely as an actor. His awareness,
understanding, and appreciation of the craft has never been stronger.
He returned home for the summer of 2007 to perform in Infamous
Commonwealth Theater's production of "Resort 76", and moved back to Los
Angeles after the show closed.
