Set in smalltown western India, Uttera Singh’s directorial debut “Pinch” (in which the writer-director also stars) unfolds with propulsive rhythms and a bleakly humorous tone. Its subject matter — a young woman dealing with being sexually assaulted by an older neighbor and family friend — ought not to make for raucous subject matter. However, Singh commands both sides of the camera with confidence, even if her storytelling veers toward tying too neat a bow on discomforting material.

“Pinch” opens in medias res with a politically charged occurrence: a crowd at a Hindu festival turns on a man and attacks him for reasons yet unknown, resulting in an act of mob vigilantism — an all-too-common event in modern India. Mumbai, April 4 (Ians) Actress Apoorva Arora, who is receiving a lot of positive responses for her recently released Ott show ‘Family Aaj Kal’, has shared that she tried her hands-on method acting for the first time in the show.

The actress spoke about her preparation for the role, and how her director Parikshit Joshi came up with crazy methods which initially left her confused but over a period of time these methods paid off really well.

The actress said: “Being a director’s actor means I’m all in for bringing their vision to life. When we were prepping for ‘Family Aaj Kal’, Parikshit had some pretty unique methods that had me scratching my head at first. But I decided to trust him and go along with it, even if it felt a bit weird. Those workshops and homework sessions really opened my eyes to his approach.”

Mumbai, May 24 (Ians) Actor Nitesh Pandey, who essayed the role of Dheeraj Kumar in the top rated television show ‘Anupamaa’, passed away due to cardiac arrest at the age of 51.

Reports claim that the actor suffered a massive cardiac arrest late on Tuesday night in Igatpuri near Nashik. He succumbed to the same instantly.

Nitesh started his journey with theatre in 1990. In 1995, he bagged the role of a detective in ‘Tejas’. He went on to work in serials like ‘Manzilein Apani Apani’, ‘Astitva…Ek Prem Kahani’, ‘Saaya’ and ‘Durgesh Nandini’.

Apart from television, he also worked in films. His work in the National Award winning film ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ received widespread appreciation. He also starred in ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Badhaai Do’.

After Aditya Singh Rajput and Vaibhavi Upadhyay, actor Nitesh Pandey from the television series ‘Anupamaa’ has also passed away. He was 51. Nitesh suffered a cardiac arrest on Tuesday, May 23.

Both thetelevison show’s actors and the viewers have been shocked by the tragic news. According to reports, the actor had a severe heart arrest late at night in Igatpuri, close to Nashik.

In 1990, Nitesh Pandey started acting in plays. Nitesh Pandey has appeared in serials including ‘Manzilein Apani Apani’, ‘Astitva…Ek Prem Kahani’, ‘Saaya’, ‘Justajoo’, and Durgesh Nandini. He also worked on the films like ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Badhaai Do’.

The actor, who has been an established name on Indian television for the past 20 years, was most recently seen ‘Anupamaa’. He played Dheeraj Kumar, the best friend of Gaurav Khanna, who played Anuj Kapadia.
