Lifetime Reveals Movie Slate For January & February Starring Cush Jumbo, Tamar Braxton & More

Exclusive: Lifetime has revealed its January and February movie slate that includes a ripped from the headlines movie about catfishing and another about multigenerational eating disorders. There’s also a flick abouta new mom who searches for the truth bout her missing newborn and another about the abduction of a Philadelphia nurse’s aide at the hands of a homicidal predator.

Inspired by real events, Girl in the Video follows the story of widowed mother Mo, whose daughter Krissy has begun chatting online with a closet predator who ends up kidnapping her and exploiting her in sexually abusive live streams on the dark web.

Girl in the Video airs Jan. 13 and is produced by ITN Productions for Lifetime. Ian Russell serves as executive producer. The film is written by Matthew Broughton and Neil Rawles directs.

Bet Developing Female Biker Drama ‘Black Mambas’ From ‘Rebel’ Creator
Exclusive: Bet Networks has put into development Black Mambas a one-hour drama from Rebel creator Amani Walker.

Black Mambas is the journey of four powerful women who are bikers and grow tired of the violent crimes and injustice in their hometown of New Orleans and decide to take justice into their own hands.

Salli Richardson-Whitfield is attached to direct the pilot and will executive produce along with Dallas Jackson (Rebel), Erwin More and Brian Medavoy. The project will be overseen by the network’s head of programming Connie Orlando and Svp Rose-Catherine Pinkney.

Walker created the Bet series Rebel, which was executive produced by the late John Singleton.

Jackson executive produced Rebel, and is the writer/producer/director of the Blumhouse/Netflix feature Thriller.
