Hardball: All Balls Don't Bounce (2008)
Writer/director Jerry Ochoa's micro-budget debut feature Hardball: All Balls Don't Bounce reminded me that — if resourceful, imaginative and talented — a filmmaker doesn't need a big budget to make a good movie. Films like this are usually not without flaws, but they are often the most rewarding.

Hardball: All Balls Don’t Bounce is the story of Hardball, an oddball hit man who finds himself caught between two rival underworld factions involved in the illegal sex trade. After developing his skills in the military, Hardball sets up shop in Houston, working for the police chief to take out heinous criminals who slip through the system, or so he thinks. After one particular job, Hardball begins to have doubts. Maybe the good guys aren't as good as he believes.
