The Courtship (2022)
‘The Courtship’ Moves From NBC to USA Network, Will Air After ‘Temptation Island’
The Courtship (2022)
The Regency-era-inspired reality dating competition “The Courtship” has moved from NBC to USA Network, where it will air Wednesday nights at 11 p.m., after “Temptation Island,” NBC confirmed to TheWrap.

The decision was made after the series’ lackluster debut in the 8 p.m. slot on March 6 and its even worse performance the following week, where it lost 37% of the premiere’s 990,000 viewers. Newcomers can catch up with the series from the beginning as it will re-air the first episode this week, followed by Episodes 2 and 3 next week and Episode 4 the following week.

NBC did not have a comment about the move, but the disappointing ratings and the ability to slot it next to an already established reality series likely played a part in the network’s decision.

The first two episodes are available now on Peacock and new episodes will be added to the streamer the day after they air on USA Network.

‘The Courtship’ Moves From NBC to USA Network
Image
Reality dating series “The Courtship” has pulled from NBC’s lineup following poor initial ratings and will move to USA Network where it will air behind the new season of “Temptation Island,” Variety has learned.

“The Courtship” will begin airing tonight, Wednesday, at 11 p.m. on USA Network behind “Temptation Island.” The show will not be picking up where it left off on NBC, instead restarting with the series premiere tonight. Next week, Episodes 2 and 3 will air, followed by Episode 4 the following Wednesday.

Originally picked up at Peacock, “The Courtship” was moved over to broadcast, set on Sunday at 8 p.m. on NBC, while also still streaming on Peacock, aiming for a bigger audience with a multi-platform rollout.

“We are always looking to discover a fresh take on a beloved format,” Jenny Groom, EVP of entertainment unscripted content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, recently told Variety. “Much like how ‘The Voice...

‘The Courtship’ Dating Series Pulled From NBC, Moved To USA Network
Image
The Courtship is ending its date with NBC.

The reality dating format has been pulled from the NBC lineup and moved to USA Network.

It comes as the series struggled to find an audience on linear television with its premiere scoring a 0.2 and 0.92M viewers with its second episode dropping to a 0.1 with 0.59M viewers.

It was in a tough Sunday slot without much lead-in and the hope is that pairing it behind Temptation Island on USA Network will drive more reality TV eyeballs to the series.

The series, which was formerly known as Pride & Prejudice: An Experiment in Romance, was originally ordered by Peacock but was moved to the linear network last month.

It debuted on Sunday March 6 at 8pm. This Sunday, March 20, NBC will replace it with an original episode of The Weakest Link, followed by an Adele special at 9pm. On March 27, a recap of American...
