Can’t get enough of Bluey? Then you’re in luck, because Disney+ and Disney Jr. will roll out a series of “minisodes” beginning this July.

The 20 one- to three-minute shorts “highlight funny and sweet moments featuring Bluey and Bingo, leaning into playful interactions and games that further explore the characters and world of Bluey,” per the official description. Bluey creator Joe Brumm penned the new installments.

P-Valley is inching closer to its return to Starz.

Production on season three of the stripper drama from creator-showrunner Katori Hall has begun production in Atlanta and has promoted three actors to series regular, while also recruiting Mea Wilkerson to join the cast.

Gail Bean (Roulette), Bertram Williams Jr. (Woddy) and Thomas Q. Jones (Mane) have been promoted to series regulars for the third season of the Lionsgate TV-produced show. Wilkerson will also be a series regular, playing the role of Haiku, a new dancer at The Pynk who thrives on chaos and finds solace in the messy choices that ignite her spirit.

Bean joined P-Valley as a recurring character in season two, playing a dancer at The Pynk. Williams has played Woddy, Lil Murda’s (J. Alphonse Nicholson) manager. Jones has recurred as Mane, the leader of the Chief-Fi-Chief gang featured in the series.

Wilkerson is fresh off the Broadway tour of Hairspray.

The hit Starz drama series P-Valley has upped Gail Bean (Snowfall), Bertram Williams Jr and Thomas Q. Jones to series regulars while also adding Mea Wilkerson to its main cast for Season 3. Production kicked off recently in Atlanta.

Bean will continue to play Roulette, a new dancer at The Pynk; Williams Jr will continue to play Woddy, Lil Murda’s manager; and Jones will continue to play Mane, the leader of Chief-Fi-Chief gang. Exclusive: The Scripps-owned Bounce network has announced that Johnson has been renewed for Season 3.

The dramedy from executive producer Cedric The Entertainer and Eric Rhone and starring series creator Deji Laray and Thomas Q. Jones returns with two new episodes starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, August 5.

Shot on location in Atlanta, the series is a journey of love, self-discovery and brotherhood told from the Black male perspective but is inclusive of all men. The second season saw the series touch on hot-button topics including fatherhood, classism, and the ever-evolving relationship dynamics between Black men and women.

Johnson also stars Philip Smithey, Derrex Brady and D.L. Hughley. Laray and Jones serve as showrunners and executive producers; Rhone, Cedric The Entertainer and Reesha L. Archibald serve as executive producers.

Bounce TV also announced the return of Act Your Age with two new episodes set to premiere back-to-back on Saturday, June 3 at 8 p.

Starz has officially confirmed that P-Valley will be returning for a third season. The renewal announcement was expected given the series’ incredibly popularity and the fact it ranks as Starz’s most popular show in the United States.

Season two, which premiered in June 2022, increased the show’s viewership by 23 over season one. The second season averaged 10.3 million viewers, enough to earn it the title of Starz’s “biggest show.”

Created by Pulitzer Prize winner Katori Hall, season two starred Nicco Annan (“Uncle Clifford”), Elarica Johnson (“Autumn Night”), Brandee Evans (“Mercedes”), Shannon Thornton (“Miss Mississippi”), J. The sophomore season of “P-Valley” — created and executive produced by Pulitzer Prize winner Katori Hall — averages nearly 10.3 million viewers across linear, VOD and streaming platforms domestically, the network reported.

The African American Film Critics Association (Aafca) held the 4th Annual Aafca Awards today to celebrate and recognize outstanding work in the television industry.

Abbott Elementary was one of the winners, not only taking the accolade for Best TV Comedy but the creator, writer, and producer of the show, Quinta Brunson, took the award for Breakout Star. Apple TV+’s Pachinko won for Best International Production and Swagger tied with HBO’s Winning Time: the rise of the Lakers dynasty tied in the Best Limited Series/Special category.

Cedric the Entertainer is behind “Finding Happy,” an upcoming dramedy series set to premiere later this year on Bounce TV, the channel announced Thursday.

Created by Kendra Jo, Yasmine Coleman and Angela Wells, the ten-episode “Finding Happy” stars comedian and actor B. Simone as Yaz Carter, a single woman working in the Atlanta radio industry. Yaz feels stagnant in her life, an on her 36th birthday, she makes a decision to create change in her life and find her own happiness. That results in significant shakeups in her family relationships, her career and her dating life.

In addition to Simone, “Finding Happy” will feature an ensemble cast that includes Kim Coles (“Living Single”), Angela Gibbs, Marketta Patrice (“Black Jesus”), Stevie Baggs and Mike Merill. Jo serves as the showrunner of the series. Cedric the Entertainer will executive produce “Finding Happy” with Eric C. Rhone through their Bird and a Bear Productions company.

Exclusive: Shane Paul McGhie (Deputy) and Karimah Westbrook (All American) have signed on to star in Panorama, a short film exec produced by former New York Giants player Spencer Paysinger and the NFL team’s current defensive end, Leonard Williams.

The film, written and directed by former theater director Scott Felix, is described as a sense-bending drama that tells the story of Sam (McGhie), a young man grieving the unexpected loss of his Mother (Westbrook). Upon being hit by a car, Sam is catapulted into a near death experience where his Mother guides him through various chapters of his life.

Panorama also stars Thomas Q. Jones (Luke Cage), Myles Cranford (Mindhunter), Maleah Goldberg (On My Block) and Krystian Alexander Lyttle (Foster Boy).

The Urban Movie Channel (Umc) series “Stuck With You” has recast the role of Luvell with Timon Kyle Durrett, taking over for Thomas Q. Jones. Durrett and Tammy Townsend will now star together as an unhappily married celebrity couple that struggles with being the face of relationship goals in the spotlight, while living two separate lives behind closed doors. The series hails from writer and director Patricia Cuffie-Jones.

Geena Davis will appear in five of the 10 episodes in the third season of “Glow.” Season three follows the women wrestlers as they take their show to Las Vegas. Exclusive: Gvn Releasing has acquired writer-director Matthew Berkowitz’s A Violent Man, a murder mystery drama set in the world of mixed martial arts that stars former NFL running back Thomas Q. Jones. The distributor will release the film day and date in theaters and VOD on January 18, 2019.

Isaach De Bankole, Mma icon Chuck Liddell, Denise Richards and Bruce Davison also star in the pic, which has elements of a contemporary noir. “Luke Cage” series creator Cheo Hodari Coker is a longtime comic book fan, and it shows with the number of fun Easter eggs he includes in the show’s first outing. Since then, Netflix’s Marvel world has expanded, and therefore in Season 2, the show doesn’t hold back when it comes to pop culture references and full-blown crossovers. Many are obvious, but some are for diehards or eagle-eyed, pause-button-happy fans.

“Luke Cage” is the type of show that references the Avengers but never names them. It also exists in the present but feels retro thanks to the heavy ‘90s hip-hop influence and nods to the original comics when Luke Cage (Mike Colter) was drafting off the blaxploitation craze.
