Like Christopher Nolan on a budget, writer/director Jamin Winans (Ink) creates worlds where imagination and emotion trump logic and traditional cohesion. A couple of years ago there was a lot of buzz circulating around director Jamin Winans' feature film Ink. I remember seeing the poster everywhere but the movie dropped off my radar completely until earlier today when I saw the first trailer for Winan's feature film follow-up.

The Frame stars David Carranza and Tiffany Mualem and besides the fact that the movie is a sci-fi mystery, that's really all we know about the project. Winan and producing (and life) partner Kiowa K. Winans are keeping details under wraps but one thing is certain: this is looking mighty fine.

Well, the filmmaking team behind Ink, husband and wife Jamin Winans and Kiowa Winans, have returned with a new project called The Frame where they've "dug even deeper" this time. They've been quietly working on this for the last three years, and now the first trailer has debuted. It's very nicely edited, a bit trippy, captivating and still mysterious. Double Edge Films and director Jamin Winans have completed production on the sci-fi thriller The Frame. Winans is most widely known for his production on the short film "Spin" and the brilliantly shot sci-fi feature Ink. Both films were self-distributed. As well, Winans scores all of his own films, including his latest. Film fans can see Winans' upcoming endeavour, with the first trailer for The Frame hosted here. Double Edge Films is keeping the plot of The Frame behind close doors. Only the genres of the film have been revealed. The Frame will blend science fiction tones with those of mystery.
