Artifacts Of Fear (2023)
Rusty Apper in Stuck in the Groove (2021)
Anthology films are often hit or miss in story style and content. People pick their favorite segments seldom having the whole film in mind. Little or non-existent budget films can use different styles of directing, acting and story. The downfall of most is inconsistency not in the fact of lack of money but in simply the process. Watching a new anthology film by the one person who just does about everything Rusty Apper’s three-story part Artifacts Of Fear (2023) is an example of style over substance.

Filmed in Liverpool and other areas in the UK, which I picked up from some slight scouser accents and my time following a certain football club that wears red, I found Artifacts Of Fear a wonderful seventy-five-minute tight terror experience. The trouble is the actual film is a huge one hundred and ten minutes long caused by some poor choices in directing and editing...

Lock Up Your Fears in The Horror Vault 3
In the mood to watch something new but don't have a lot of time to spend in one sitting? Then check out the third and final installment of The Horror Vault Trilogy, which is out on DVD now and contains five separate tales of terror and depravity.

Back in May of 2008 Melissa reviewed the first installment of The Horror Vault (review here), and her advice to the filmmakers was to concentrate on quality over quantity and cut back on the number of films included (Volume 1 had nine films in all). It seems they took her advice as Volumes 2 and 3 both contain five each. Below is the list of what's included in Volume 3:

Synopsis:

Starting off, it's "A Christmas Haunting" directed by Kim Sønderholm and starring Kim Sønderholm, Russ Diapper, Tanja Bønke, Mette Løvendahl and celebrity model Katrine Poulsen. There are also some brief cameos by well known indie stars such as April Monique Burril,...

The synopsis for Zombie Office:

"The Zombie Office is a black, twisted, comedic and nihilistic story about...well, guess the title pretty much says it all" (Sonderholm).

The synopsis for Undone:

"Undone follows a man kidnapping another man who wants revenge for his crimes" (Sonderolm).

The plot summary of Unchangeable here:

Craigs on DVD
Today Cetus Productions released their feature film Craig - the story about a young quiet man turning serial killer in despair.

The film is directed by Actor/Director Kim Sønderholm who also plays the lead as Craig. The film is his debut as a director. It has been described as something as odd as an artsy horror slasher with depth and atmosphere - drama, blood, murder, a dark underworld with plenty of gorgeous undressed women on the way and our favorite and yours...Llyod Kaufman.

Supporting Sønderholm on the acting side is, among others - Lloyd Kaufman (playing an obscure part as the god inside Craig's mind), Manoush (Barricade, Amelie from Montmatre), Merete van Kamp (Osterman Weekend, Dallas), Jan Tjerrild (Westbrick Murders, Brutal Incasso), Christa Møller Nielsen and last but not least Danish pin-up models Sarah Louise Christensen and Jenni Lykke Olsen.

This independent film is now available from the website www.
