Jackson ‘Butch’ Guice passed away late last week becoming another who is pulling his chair up to the great drawing board in the sky. Guice first came onto my radar with the 2008 Ultimate Origins mini-series. Much to my embarrassment, I assumed he was a hot new talent, as at the time the Ultimate Universe was a tight-knit group of creators. I later discovered his varied career in comics across the board of creators with a strong body of work in the 80s and 90s. Guice is another in the long line of creators who broke into comics via the fanzines, as well as designing patches, badges and the like for a company based out of North Carolina. The early stepping stones at Marvel saw him land gigs on Rom and Micronauts, the latter of which he would contribute an 11-issue run on. In Titans: Beast World #4, Amanda Waller sends Peacemaker after Flash Family friend Chester P. Runk, as the latest step in her grand plan to rid the world of superheroes. Preview pages for the issue indicate Waller has "twisted" plans for Runk, that could have dire consequences for the DC Universe as a whole. With the heroes preoccupied, Waller continues her villainous agenda unopposed, making her the most urgent threat in the DC Universe.

Wookiees are perhaps the most iconic alien species in Star Wars, not just because of their looks or the fact that the most recognizable one of them all, Chewbacca, is so popular, but also because of the way they speak. However, it is because of their dialect that they are incapable of speaking ‘English’ (which is called Galactic Basic in-canon), at least, that’s usually the case, as the explanation for how a Wookiee can speak Basic is absolutely bizarre.
