Ofcom has found Gb News to be in breach of due impartiality rules in a landmark ruling pertaining to an episode of Esther McVey and Phillip Davies’ show.
The regulator’s investigation concluded that an episode of Saturday Morning with Esther and Phil, which aired on Gb News on March 11, failed to “represent and give due weight to an appropriately wide range of significant views on a matter of major political controversy and current public policy.”
The right-leaning news network therefore breached rules 5.11 and 5.12 of Ofcom’s Broadcasting Code on impartiality, following 45 complaints.
This is the third time Gb News has breached Ofcom’s rules but the first regarding the controversial move to have politicians present topical shows and interview other politicians. There are six more investigations of this ilk currently open.

Naomi Wolf’s claims about the Covid-19 vaccine on U.K. network Gb News have resulted in the controversial TV channel being hauled into a meeting with British media regulator Ofcom.
Wolf, best known for her feminist book “The Beauty Myth,” made the comments on Gb News’s “Mark Steyn” show, hosted by anchor Mark Steyn, in Oct. 2022. During a segment on the show discussing the vaccine, Wolf compared doctors who assisted the vaccine rollout as being akin to those in “pre-Nazi Germany” and said the rollout itself had resulted in “mass murder.”
“I’m not a conspiracy theorist, I’m a journalist,” she said at the beginning of the segment, before adding later: “I believe [the mRNA vaccines] are bio-weapons because they are literally sterilizing people, they are poisoning breast milk.”

Gb News has been summoned for a meeting with Ofcom after being found in breach of its Broadcasting Code for the second time in the space of two months, both pertaining to Covid-19 vaccine comments on Mark Steyn’s former show. The right-leaning news network has, however, escaped a fine.
Ofcom has this morning sanctioned the right-leaning UK news network for an episode last October during which a guest, Dr Naomi Wolf, said the Covid-19 vaccine rollout amounted to “mass murder” and was comparable to the actions of “doctors in pre-Nazi Germany.”
Following more than 400 complaints to the regulator, Ofcom found Gb News to be in breach of the section of its code that states: “Generally accepted standards must be applied to the contents of television and radio services…so as to provide adequate protection for members of the public from the inclusion in such services of harmful and/or offensive material.

Ofcom has found Gb News to be in breach of its code over Covid-19 vaccine comments, in the first of two rulings investigating the Mark Steyn Show and the first time it has fallen foul of the regulator’s code.
In an episode last April, host Steyn quoted official data from the UK Health Security Agency (Ukhsa) to say that the vaccines caused higher infection, hospitalization and death rates, but four viewers complained that these comments were “dangerous” and drew “fatally flawed conclusions.”
Steyn said in the program that Ukhsa data on those people that had, and those that had not, received a third Covid-19 vaccination dose could be compared because the two groups included approximately the same numbers of people.
Ofcom, however, said in today’s ruling he had failed to take into account other factors such as the significant differences in age or health of the people in the two groups.

Piers Morgan’s debut Uncensored show including an interview with Donald Trump averaged 300,000 viewers across 8pm last night in the UK, tripling the competition from BBC News and Sky News and pulling in 10 times the viewers of Gb News.
A peak of around 400,000 watched the hour-long show that included multiple clips from the interview with the former Potus, which was teased heavily by Rupert Murdoch’s Talk TV in the run up to the debut show and will air its second part tomorrow – expected to confirm the situation by which Trump stormed off set.
Morgan’s show beat BBC News and Sky News, while rival Gb News, which launched less than a year ago, made just 33,000 for Mark Steyn’s 8pm news show, according to Barb data from overnights.tv.
Uncensored also made a dent in the mainstream channels, only just behind BBC Two and Channel 4 across the 8pm hour.

Updated, 5:45 Pm Pt: On his Fox News show on Monday, Tucker Carlson stood by his comments last week that triggered the Anti Defamation League to call for his ouster.
Carlson repeated the segment from last Thursday that the Adl said was an endorsement of the “white replacement theory,” or the conspiracy theory that elites are trying to place white with immigrants.
Then he repeated the general thrust of his remarks.
“Demographic change is the key to the Democratic party’s political ambitions,” Carlson said in a 20-minute segment on Monday. “Let’s say that again for emphasis because it is the secret to the entire immigration debate. Demographic change is the key to the Democratic party’s political ambitions. In order to win and maintain power, Democrats plan to change the population of the country. … Their goal is to make you irrelevant.”
He cited the case of California, now a reliably Democratic state.

Adl Leader Says That Tucker Carlson “Must Go” Following Fox News Host’s “Replacement Theory” Remarks
The Anti-Defamation League’s CEO Jonathan Greenblatt condemned Tucker Carlson for defending “replacement theory” on his show Thursday and said that it’s time for the Fox News host to be taken off the network.
“Tucker must go,” Greenblatt wrote on Twitter. He also fired off a letter to Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott, in which he wrote that Carlson’s “full-on embrace of the white supremacist replacement theory on yesterday’s show and his repeated allusions to racist themes in past segments are a bridge too far.”
.@TuckerCarlson: “replacement theory” is a white supremacist tenet that the white race is in danger by a rising tide of non-whites.
It is antisemitic, racist and toxic. It has informed the ideology of mass shooters in El Paso, Christchurch and Pittsburgh.

Fox News on Monday confused CNN anchor Chris Cuomo for his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, in a photo mix-up during primetime.
Mark Steyn, filling in for Tucker Carlson, was criticizing the governor for taking “the same point of view” as New York City mayor Bill de Blasio on whether Trump emboldens “violent forces.” But the broadcast displayed a photo of his brother, Chris Cuomo, instead.

A Fox News panel reacted Thursday to viewers’ reports that Donald Trump’s cameo was cut from a Canadian broadcast of the 1992 holiday movie “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” calling the editing “censorship” and a symptom of “derangement.”
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation said that Trump’s single line in the movie was edited for time, not politics, but on “Fox & Friends” Thursday, pundit Mark Steyn disagreed with the CBC.
“I think they’re actually terrified that people will remember that before he was the new Hitler, he was a beloved mainstream cultural figure,” he said. “That’s who Donald Trump was before he was the new Hitler.
