TV Land's Teachers Face Budget Cuts, Grizzly Bears in Final Season Trailer
Before the final bell rings on TV Land’s Teachers, the ladies of Fillmore Elementary have 10 more lessons they’d like to impart, beginning with how to defend your school from potential grizzlies. (Thanks, Betsy DeVos!)

TVLine has an exclusive first look at the trailer for Teachers‘ final episodes — Season 3B premieres Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 10/9c — which kick off with a new neighbor (and his pet grizzly!) moving in across the street from the school. Though the teachers try their best to explain why it’s a bad idea to keep a 600 lb. predator across the street from so many children,...

‘Teachers’ To End After Season 3, Leaving TV Land With No Original Scripted Series
There will be no fourth season for TV Land’s Teachers. The Viacom network is announcing that the season 3B of Teachers will debut on January 15, 2019, and it will be the show’s final chapter.

Following the recent move of TV Land’s flagship original series, Younger, to Viacom sibling Paramount Network, Teachers remained the only original scripted series on TV Land, leaving the network with no original series and no originals in the pipeline.

That is in stark contrast to January 2017 when a major Viacom restructuring identified six flagship brands, including Paramount Network, that were earmarked to get the lion share of financial resources, naming the others, including TV Land, reinforcing brands.

At the time, TV Land had seven original scripted series. Since then, it has canceled three, migrated four to Paramount Network and has not greenlighted new shows, bringing its original slate from 7 to 0 in less than two years.

Teachers: Did TV Land's New Comedy Make the Grade?
Adrian Bower, Raquel Cassidy, Andrew Lincoln, and Nina Sosanya in Teachers (2001)
Somewhere between the first day of kindergarten and the college commencement ceremony, we’ve all racked up a list of teachers we’ve found memorable — for reasons both good and bad.

And now, thanks to TV Land’s Teachers, we’re not sure we can look at those educators the same way again.

The freshman comedy, which debuted Wednesday night, follows six elementary-school instructors as they navigate both their professional and personal lives — and I, for one, will now always wonder whether my second-grade teacher was hooking up with a drug dealer in her free time.
