Freeform on Thursday announced the final season of The Bold Type would arrive Wednesday, May 26 at 10/9c.

The six-episode wrap-up finds Jane, Kat, and Sutton “on the brink of defining who they really are and how best to leave their mark on the world,” per the official synopsis.

The fifth and final season of “The Bold Type” will premiere on May 26 at 10 p.m., Freeform announced Thursday.

The fourth season left Kat, Jane and Sutton at their limits both personally and professionally at Scarlet Magazine. The final six episodes of the series will celebrate the trio’s journey into becoming who they were each meant to be. The series stars Katie Stevens, Aisha Dee, Meghann Fahy, Stephen Conrad Moore and Melora Hardin. Nikohl Boosheri will recur as fan-favorite character Adena El-Amin, and Carson Kressley will guest star as himself in the season premiere. The series is executive produced by Wendy Straker Hauser, Matt McGuinness, David Bernad, Joanna Coles, Brian Madden, Ruben Fleischer and Sandrine Gros d’Aillon.

Freeform has picked up a fourth season of dramedy The Bold Type. Series stars Katie Stevens, Aisha Dee and Meghann Fahy made the announcement during the Freeform portion of the Disney upfront presentation in New York City.

The Bold Type was a breakout for Freeform, earning a two-season pickup. As was the case at the time of the Season 2 and Season 3 renewal, the series is changing showrunners. Amanda Lasher, who ran the dramedy the last two seasons, will be succeeded by Wendy Straker Hauser, who has been with the series since its first season.

"The Bold Type" Renewed for Season 4 at Freeform, Switches Showrunners Again

“The Bold Type” has been renewed for a fourth season at Freeform but will switch showrunners once again.

Taking the stage during the network’s portion of the Disney upfront presentation in New York Tuesday, series stars Aisha Dee, Meghann Fahy and Katie Stevens announced the return.

Amanda Lasher, who took over as showrunner in Season 2 will step down in that role for Season 4, and Wendy Straker Hauser, who has been a producer on the series since the launch, will take on the new title. Hauser is also known being a co-producer on Hulu’s dystopian drama “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

Freeform announced the season premiere dates of two of their popular series.
