British musician and DJ Matthew Herbert has pretty much done it all. After making a name for himself in electronic music (his 2003 manifesto “Personal Contract for the Composition of Music” famously emphasizes “no drum machines”) and launching his label Accidental Records, he ended up remixing such iconic artists as Quincy Jones, Ennio Morricone, Serge Gainsbourg, and classical composer Gustav Mahler.

His production work has seen him work with the likes of The Zone of Interest composer Mica Levi, Róisín Murphy (one half of the pop duo Moloko), and frequent collaborator and Icelandic songstress Björk. Best known for turning ordinary or so-called found sound into electronic music, he has also become a go-to partner for film and TV creators looking for a score. We have the first trailer for you to check out from the film Semper Fi, from writer and director Henry Alex Rubin (Murderball) and co-writer Sean Mullin (Amira & Sam). The film stars Jai Courtney and Nat Wolff as brothers who are trying to connect, on opposite sides of the law. Here’s the synopsis for the film:

Cal (Jai Courtney) is a by-the-book police officer who, along with his close-knit group of childhood friends, makes ends meet as a Marine Corps reservist. When his reckless younger half-brother, Oyster, is arrested after a bar fight and given an unfair prison sentence, Cal – driven by his loyalty to family and fierce code of honor – fights for Oyster (Nat Wolff) in this gripping tale of brotherhood and sacrifice.

The movie also stars Leighton Meester, Finn Wittrock, Arturo Castro, Beau Knapp, Rachel Hendrix, Wayne Pére, Ashton Leigh, Sylvia Grace Crim, Lance E. Nichols, and Rob Mello.

The title is a reference to the Marine Corps slogan "semper fi" (in full: semper fidelis), which means "always loyal". The plot is about a police officer who serves in the Marine Corps Reserves who is faced with an ethical dilemma when it comes to helping his brother in prison. A few years back, Blumhouse and writer-director Christopher Landon proved that a PG-13 slasher movie could work with their teen-friendly masked killer movie Happy Death Day. In fact, that teen-slasher flick was so popular that it spawned a sequel earlier this year with the silly-titled follow-up Happy Death Day 2U. And today we're hearing that Blumhouse has begun developing a third (and final?) entry in the teen slasher series, Happy Death Day 3.

Truth be told, I'm not sure I'm excited for Happy Death Day 3. I mean don't get me wrong, I was all kinds of ready to check out Happy Death Day 2U when it hit earlier this year. Described as reminiscent of "hard-boiled action/thrillers from the '70s/'80s", Into The Ashes is about an ex-con trying to settle down in rural Alabama who believes he has escaped his violent past, only to find his old crew hasn’t forgotten about him or the money he stole.
