After the deadly acts of season one, Apple TV+’s Bad Sisters returns for its second season as the central siblings face increasing suspicion and fear about what they did.
In the trailer released Tuesday, the women are first seen atop a cliff and opening the trunk of a car as showrunner and star Sharon Horgan’s Eva assures them that everything’s going to be Ok. But then, in a microcosm of the concerns sprinkled throughout the second season preview, the women are startled by something they see inside the trunk.
The trailer jumps ahead to Grace (Anne-Marie Duff) getting remarried to a man named Ian (Owen McDonnell) as Eva again tries to offer reassurance, saying, “After everything that happened, things are finally looking up.”
But as Grace dances with Roger (Michael Smiley), who helped her kill her abusive husband J.P. (Claes Bang), he asks if she ever...

It’s the news “Bad Sisters” fans have been hoping for: the limited series has been commissioned for a second season, meaning the murderous Garvey sisters are set to grace our screens once more.
Apple TV+ and executive producer and star Sharon Horgan confirmed the second season order on Tuesday (Nov. 8), although no other info – including potential release date, cast or plot details – has been revealed.
An adaptation of Belgian limited series “Clan,” “Bad Sisters” launched earlier this year with Horgan playing de-facto Irish matriarch Eva Garvey to her four younger sisters Grace (Anne-Marie Duff), Bibi (Sarah Greene), Ursula (Eva Birthistle) and Becka (Eve Hewson) in the wake of their parents’ deaths.
But the tight-knit group begins to unravel as Grace, trapped in an abusive marriage with the toxic John-Paul (Claes Bang), becomes increasingly diminished and distant. Her siblings soon hatch a plan to dispatch John-Paul in order to free...

Apple TV+ has renewed Bad Sisters, the dark comedy murder-mystery series from Sharon Horgan, for a second season.
The black comedy-drama, from Horgan’s Merman Television and Disney Television Studios’ ABC Signature, follows the tight-knit Garvey sisters, who all find themselves under investigation from life insurers when their brother-in-law is found dead.

“If you’d have told me three years ago that I’d be making a series about five murderous sisters chasing a man around Ireland trying to kill him, I’d have said, ‘Yeah, that sounds about right,’” said Horgan. “The response to our show had been beyond what we could have hoped for. It gave us the opportunity to shine a light on stories that don’t always get such a global platform. I look forward to getting chilly in the Irish Sea one more time.

Apple TV+ will spend more time with its group of Bad Sisters.
The tech behemoth’s streaming service has ordered a second season of its dark comedy/murder mystery Bad Sisters, co-created by and starring Sharon Horgan. The renewal comes comes a few weeks after the conclusion of the 10-episode first season, which has earned mostly positive reviews from critics (The Hollywood Reporter’s Angie Han called it “never boring” but also “slightly less than the sum of its parts”). Apple TV+ doesn’t self-report any viewing data, and the show did not break into Nielsen’s streaming top 10 during its run.

At the center of Apple TV+’s dark comedy-thriller Bad Sisters is the mystery of how John-Paul Williams (Claes Bang), a seemingly respectable husband, father and businessman, really died. Life insurance agents Thomas and Matthew Claffin (Brian Gleeson and Daryl McCormack) suspect foul play, and they’re probably not wrong: As the series quickly establishes, his sisters-in-law were definitely plotting something against Jp, though it’ll apparently take the entire ten-episode season to find out exactly what came to pass.
If the how is in question, though, the why certainly isn’t. Within his first five minutes of screentime, Jp shows himself to be so thoroughly, irredeemably, aggressively awful that the real puzzle might be how no one else got around to killing him first. In one light, this has the advantage of releasing the audience from any ambivalence we might feel rooting for his comeuppance.
