The longtime entertainment news program E! News has been canceled after 34 years on the air, marking the second time the program has been dropped in the past five years. As reported by Variety, E! News, currently hosted by Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester, will continue airing new episodes until September 25, after which it will be removed from E!’s schedule. Roughly 20 employees who work on the show were informed of the network’s decision on Thursday, July 24. The move comes just three years after E! News returned from a two-year hiatus following its 2020 cancelation. While originally airing as a daytime program, the show moved to the late-night slot upon its return. The show will now continue as a digital brand only, including the E! Online website, E! News’ The Rundown on Snapchat, Hot Goss on Instagram, and Re!Cap on YouTube. The “E! News” nightly broadcast has been canceled ahead of the network’s move to Versant, TheWrap has learned.

The decision comes as part of E!’s efforts to lean more into a pop culture news destination that will take place across several platforms, including E! News digital and the network’s social platforms, an individual familiar with the matter told TheWrap.

“E! News,” the network’s long-running half-hour program, which launched in 1991, will continue to air at 11:30 p.m. through Sept. 25.

They added that due to a high demand for breaking news with the E! audience, the 11 p.m. time slot no longer delivers fans with real-time coverage of pop culture news throughout the day. Additionally, some E! News linear correspondents will move over to Versant, though there have been no confirmed decision as of yet.

Versant, the nascent company that oversees E! as well as a number of former NBCUniversal cable networks, is axing the show on September 25.

The half-hour launched in 1991 and currently airs at 11:30 p.m.

Deadline understands that employees on the show were informed this morning, with around 20 people working on it. Some of them might be offered other roles, and some are expected to leave.

It marks the first major programming decision since Versant was formed earlier this year.

The move is not unexpected; given the way that people consume pop culture news these days, largely on their phone and across social media, means that operating a nightly news operation is more challenging.

Hallmark+ has a new reality series called Finding Mr. Christmas. Jonathan Bennett and Melissa Peterman are hosting and judging this series that tries to find the next Hallmark Hunk. Ten gorgeous men have to compete against each other in tests that will prove that they could star in a holiday romcom.

They will be judged for different skill sets that you may need for a Christmas movie. This could be everything from chopping down a tree to dancing cheek-to-cheek. This means ice skating and slow dancing. A hero of one of these movies needs to be able to chop a Christmas tree and bake cookies. The activities are endless. So are the costars. Besides their love interest, a leading man needs to be able to work with children and pets alike. Most of all, how will the judges evaluate? That is to be determined.

Thankfully, the two judges won’t be working alone.

Hallmark has announced the guest judges for Finding Mr. Christmas, the new reality competition series hosted by Jonathan Bennett, which searches for the next Hallmark Channel holiday movie star. Once again, E! News personality Keltie Knight will co-host the event, and this time, she’ll be joined by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais. The judges for this year’s competition are Anastasia Beverly Hills founder Anastasia Soare, Miss USA 1990 Carole Gist, Miss USA 1994 Lu Parker, stand-up comedian Iliza Shlesinger, motivational speaker Natasha Graziano, Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay, and Athletic Propulsion Labs managing partner NJ Falk, according to a press release. The pageant comes after months of controversy around Miss USA and Miss Teen USA — both operated by the Miss Universe Organization — as the 2023 winners of the two pageants resigned within days of each other this May.

Dolly Parton is enthusiastic about the new 9 to 5, hopes to see original stars involved, and especially to see her iconic song used. Lily Tomlin has mixed feelings about the remake. News of Jennifer Aniston producing a reimagining of the iconic 9 to 5 has elicited a range of emotions from the original leading ladies, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, and Jane Fonda. The currently untitled project follows the rapper’s daughter, Cori Broadus, and her fiancé, Wayne Deuce, as they navigate relationship tensions ahead of their wedding and a health struggle that impacts Snoop and the rest of the family. E!, USA Network and Oxygen True Crime have revealed their programming slates for the 2024-25 season which include a docuseries that follows the daughter of Snoop Dogg and a true crime series about homicides in Philadelphia.

USA Network also confirmed new competition show from the producers of The Traitors, as revealed by Deadline last month.

At E!, the network will launch its untitled Cori Broadus and Snoop Dogg Project, a three-part docuseries that follows Snoop’s daughter Cori Broadus and her fiancé, Wayne Deuce. It’s produced by Death Row Pictures and 101 Studios.

E!’s returning slate includes Season 2 of House of Villains, E!’s most-watched freshman series since 2020; the entertainment news series E! News, hosted by Justin Sylvester and Keltie Knight; and Live from E! hosted by Laverne Cox.

The 42-year-old Emmy Award-winning TV personality, podcast host, author and former dancer shared a candid post for E! News detailing the procedure.

“I’m having a hysterectomy! I’ve been silently suffering for most of the last decade, and, like most women, I made up my mind that the debilitating health issues I have been dealing with daily were somehow all my fault. E! News has promoted Keltie Knight to co-host of the nightly entertainment news show.

She’ll co-anchor the show alongside Justin Sylvester starting Monday. The show airs at 11 p.m. Et/Pt Monday-Thursday on E!.

On Sunday, on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet, Keltie Knight, a reporter from E! News, looked down only to realize that she had lost the four-carat diamond of her ring on the red carpet in front of the Beverly Hilton.

She recorded a video of herself declaring a “Golden Globe emergency” and posted it to Instagram saying, “If you’re a celebrity and you see a four-carat diamond on the red carpet, please return it to Keltie Knight at E! cuz it’s gone and, um… it’s real.”

Additionally, she posted an article on the E! News website, “calling all stars” to help her look for the lost rock as well as a video to her Instagram story saying, “Humble brag, but also help!”

She revealed that she had the diamond while getting ready because she remembered cleaning it, but when the time came for pictures, the diamond was missing.

The annual event will take place on Thursday (November 23) in New York City, from 9 a.m. Et to 12 p.m. It will air on CBS and be available to stream live on Paramount+.

The parade will be hosted by Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier and E! News chief correspondent Keltie Knight.

The hosts will anchor CBS’ coverage of the parade from a site along the parade route. The Thanksgiving Day Parade is best known for its gigantic balloons of cartoon characters, fantastic floats and lively marching bands from across the country.

In addition to her hosting duties, Keltie will make her Broadway debut on the broadcast, starring as Roxie Hart alongside the cast of Chicago.
