‘The Boys’ Season 5 First Footage: A ‘Supernatural’ Reunion, Seth Rogen Cameo and Homelander’s ‘Safer, More God-Fearing Nation’
Image
“The Boys” couldn’t let “Gen V” have all the fun at San Diego Comic Con.

At the very end of the “Gen V” Season 2 panel on Friday afternoon, the upcoming fifth and final season of “The Boys” showed its very first teaser to the crowd of attendees in Ballroom 20. It was a brief teaser, packed with tons of superhero violence and gore — as fans of “The Boys” have come to expect — and quick looks at the new and returning cast members.

The action unfolded quickly, but a couple of the highlights included a new supe character vomiting up what appeared to be a bloody hairball onto another character and someone having what could only be described as a violent explosion in a bathroom stall.

Seth Rogen, who’s an executive producer on “The Boys” and has appeared in a handful of cameos across the previous seasons, also made an appearance in the teaser.

The Boys Built Firecracker to Provoke, But Ended Up Revealing Something Else
Image
When the Supe War started to take shape in Season 4 of Eric Kripke’s The Boys, Antony Starr’s Homelander sought assistance from some new promising faces. One such name was Firecracker, who quickly rose from a side character to one of the major problems that Billy Butcher and his ragtag group of vigilantes must take care of.

Interestingly enough, Kripke’s superhero spoof show had different intentions for her, where she would merely be a supporting antagonist. In the process of being a provocative figure on screen, she showcased a whole different side that was not part of the script. However, it did not disappoint, as her elitist side was quite an entertainer for the viewers to watch.

The Boys: Season 4 Unraveled a Different Side of Firecracker

After the events of The Boys Season 3, The Seven were weaker than ever. Using Vought as a cover, Homelander (Antony Starr...

‘The Boys’ Star Erin Moriarty Shares Graves’ Disease Diagnosis
Image
The Boys star Erin Moriarty shared she was recently diagnosed with Graves’ disease, advocating for people to listen to their bodies, especially when in pain.

“Autoimmune disease manifests differently in everybody/every body,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Your experience will be different from mine. My experience will be different from yours. Perhaps greatly, perhaps minutely.”

The first key art for the fifth and final season of The Boys has been spotted at the Prime Experience event, and it features Homelander glancing back at the camera as he walks towards the White House.

'It's Sort of Tragic': The Boys Showrunner Reveals What Homelander Really Wants More Than Anything Else
Image
The Boys' fifth and final season culminates the long-running Homelander saga, with fans awaiting the payoff to his many controversies and an expected clash with Billy Butcher. As deplorable and self-serving as Homelander can be, showrunner Eric Kripke believes that despite the Seven leader's dastardly ways, there is something less sinister at the heart of the character that fuels him.

Speaking with TV Insider, Kripke teased what fans can expect from Homelander in Season 5 and offered insight into what makes Antony Starr's character tick. Though Homelander is hard to sympathize with, considering his penchant for chaos, Kripke insists his desire to be loved is at the root of his complexities.

"The thing about Homelander — and I was just talking to Antony about this yesterday — is it’s sort of tragic, actually, but ultimately, the guy just wants someone to love him. He tries amassing all of this power just...

'The Boys' gears up for a wild final season -- and Homelander’s in charge
Image
Season 5 picks up after a full-blown political collapse and brings in new faces for the show’s final chapter.

There’s just nothing else like “The Boys.” It’s the superhero show I always wanted — dark, twisted, scarily relevant, and hilarious. Every season finds a new way to raise the stakes without losing its edge, and it never pulls its punches (literally or figuratively). Whether it’s exploding heads, corrupt Supes, or political chaos that hits a little too close to home, this show keeps delivering. With the fifth and final season on the horizon, here’s everything you need to know about “The Boys” Season 5.

Everything you need to know about ‘The Boys’ Season 5:

When will ‘The Boys’ Season 5 premiere on Prime Video?

Who’s been cast in ‘The Boys’ Season 5?

What happened at the end of ‘The Boys’ Season 4?

Antony Starr teases an explosive and unpredictable ending for The Boys Season 5
Image
As The Boys gears up for its highly anticipated final season, Antony Starr (Homelander) has shared his reaction to reading the final scripts — and it sounds like fans are in for a wild, unpredictable ride. With Season 5 marking the end for Prime Video's subserve superhero show, expectations are sky-high.

Starr talked to Collider about his mixed emotions regarding the show’s ending. While he’s grateful for the success and longevity of The Boys, he also believes that ending at Season 5 is the right call.

It’s strange because as much as I love the show, I don't like seeing things outstay their welcome, so I'm kind of glad we're finishing at five, and that's it. I love the show and the characters, so it's a bittersweet moment.Antony Starr

This should come as a relief to fans who have seen other popular series lose momentum by overstaying their welcome.

The Boys Star Antony Starr Suits-Up As Homelander In New Season 5 Set Photo; Shares Unused "Homeboy" Art
Image
As shooting for the fifth and final season of Prime Video's The Boys continues, Antony Starr has shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set to Instagram along with two throwback snaps from the previous season and some unused concept art.

Starr is suited-up as Homelander in the set photo, and it doesn't look like there's been any major alterations to his costume. There was speculation that the leader of The Seven might don a new outfit for this final season after he took a step closer to the White House in the season 4 finale.

The actor also revealed some artwork for Ryan's (Cameron Crovetii) "Homeboy" costume, which never actually made the cut. Ryan appeared to fully give himself over to the "dark side" after killing Grace Mallory (Laila Robins) in the finale, so perhaps we'll see him suit-up alongside his father at some point in season 5.

The Boys Star Jack Quaid Shares Bloody New Season 5 Set Photo
Image
If there's one thing you can count on in every season of The Boys, it's Hughie Campbell winding up covered in blood.

Cameras have been rolling on the fifth and final season of the Prime Video series since last November, and star Jack Quaid has now shared a new behind-the-scenes photo from the set.

Though the image doesn't provide any context, it seems pretty clear that Hughie will be taking yet another bloodbath when the show returns next year.

In the season 4 finale, Hughie and most of his teammates were captured by Homelander's forces (these slightly spoiler-y set photos reveal where they were most likely sent), leaving only Annie January - now powered back up as Starlight - and Billy Butcher on the lam. With the latter on a crusade to wipe out all Supes, it's probably going to be up to Annie to rescue Hughie and the others.

In the season 4 finale, Annie and Billy Butcher were the only members of the team to evade capture from Homelander's forces (these slightly spoilery set photos reveal where they were most likely sent), but with Butcher on his own personal crusade to wipe out all Supes, it will probably be down to the now rejuvenated and powered-up Starlight to free her friends.

'Things Adjust All the Time': The Boys Showrunner Shares Exciting Update on Season 5 Storyline
Image
Series creator Eric Kripke revealed their approach to developing The Boys episodes. He also teased how current events (and how these unfold) will be written into Season 5's storylines.

Eric Kripke said they're developing The Boys Season 5's script on the fly. "I mean, they're not all written, by the way," he told Forbes. "They're about half-written. I mean, look - things adjust all the time." That revealed so much about their creative approach, which also put the previous seasons' plots in perspective. The Boys does not pull any punches in tackling difficult issues; Kripke has confirmed the show is a cautionary tale on authoritarianism, and Homelander is the embodiment of absolute, unchecked power. Kripke asserted that has always been their goal.

The Boys Season 5 Set Photos Reveal Possible Spoilers & New Superhero Team
Image
Stop me if you've heard this one before, but the latest season of "The Boys" was a total bloodbath and left us on its darkest note yet. Viewers have come to expect the worst with Prime Video's superhero satire series, which always seems to take the path of most cynicism. In season 4, that meant the United States ushering in a puppet as a President to do the bidding of Homelander (Antony Starr) and enact martial law, all while our heroes were either scattered to the winds or captured. Oh, and if all that wasn't bad enough, a mid-credits scene even teased the return of everybody's favorite freak Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles).

Well, if you thought things couldn't possibly get any worse, you clearly haven't been paying enough attention. Season 5 has been confirmed to be the show's final season and is currently in the process of filming. Of course, since this...

The Boys Season 5 Set Photos Confirm Major Plot Point; Reveal First Look At New Supe Team - Spoilers
Image
In the season 4 finale of The Boys, Homelander took a major step towards taking full control of the United States by removing all political obstacles and rounding-up his enemies, including Mother's Milk, Frenchie, Kimiko, and Hughie (only Starlight and Butcher remain at large).

It was strongly hinted that Homelander's plan would involve interning those who opposed him in prison camps, and we now have confirmation that "Freedom Camps" will indeed be employed for this purpose.

These latest set photos reveal adverts for the camps on the sides of some buses, which also provide a first look at new Supe team, Teenage Kix.

This group is a parody of the likes of the Young Avengers and Teen Titans, and counts A-Train, Sister Sage and the late Popclaw among its former members. In the comics, the roster also includes Big Game, Jetstreak, Hyperion, Shout Out and Mesme.

2024 hasn’t been that great of a year for Prime Video, as the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power failed to make up for its abysmal first season and continued its streak of huge disappointment. That doesn’t mean there were no great shows on Prime Video this year. So, we compiled a list comprising the 10 best original prime video shows of 2024.

The Boys Season 4 (Watch Now) Credit – Prime Video

The Boys is a satirical superhero action dark comedy-drama series created by Eric Kripke. Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the Prime Video series returned for its much anticipated Season 4 this year and continues the Boys’ story as they continue their fight against the Supes. The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr,...

The Boys Season 5 Set Photos Feature An Appropriately Twisted Spoiler For Homelander's America
Image
In season 5 of The Boys, we expect to find America under the thumb of Homelander as he remakes the country in his twisted image. The supremacy of Supes will be bad news for humans, something that's evident from these newly released set photos.

We see that internment camps have been built across the country, with this one dubbed "Freedom Camp 47." Likely inspired by real-life concentration camps like Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen, it's an unsettling piece of imagery, particularly as they're located in modern-day America.

This camp also declares that "Freedom Sets You Free."

We'd imagine this is where Hughie and the rest of The Boys are being kept after their capture in the season 4 finale, and the design of the signage appears to be heavily inspired by both the American flag and Homelander's costume.

The series has never shied away from making its political leanings clear and season 5 promises double down...

The Boys Season 5 Set Photos Reveal How Homelander Will Punish Anti-Supe Humans
Image
Photos taken from the set of The Boys season 5 show the sinister lengths that Homelander (Antony Starr) will go to quell any resistance by anti-supe protesters. The dark Prime Video superhero series imagines a world where the profession of powered heroes is dominated by corrupt corporations and dangerous and power-hungry narcissistic individuals. The fifth and final season of The Boys will see Homelander finally gain control of the world, as the titular group is divided and imprisoned.

As filming for The Boys season 5 continues, new posts by True_Cabinet_9733 on The Boys subreddit show previously teased plans come to life. The photos depict internment camps being erected in a woodland. Dubbed "Freedom Camp 47," the installation is lathered in a red, white, and blue color scheme.

This is a developing story...

The Boys Set Photos Reveal Shocking Season 5 Storyline
Image
The Boys Season 4 ended with Homelander poised to take over the United States government. The final season is looking grim for the human population as new set photos tease what's in store.

The Boys Season 5 will feature a World War II concentration camp setting, based on recent photos shared on Reddit. User True_Cabinet_9733 posted images of what appears a massive compound in the woods with a "Freedom Sets You Free" sign over the entrance. It's also one of at least 47 "Freedom Camps" built, hinting there are more in operation across the United States. "Vernon Corporational Services" is written on the sign, possibly in honor of Robert Vernon (a.k.a. Tek Knight), who was murdered in Season 4. He confirmed a deal with Homelander and Sister Sage to use prisons for detained Vought dissidents, both humans and supes.

Filming recently began on the set of the fifth and final season of the Amazon show, based on the comics of the same name by Garth Ennis, and fans have been getting sneak peeks along the way. While plot details for Season 5 still remain under wraps, showrunner Eric Kripke and star Karl Urban have shared exciting pictures and updates on production that give some hints as to what's in store.

Kripke posted a heartwarming message about how the show and its actors saved him, as well as an explicit update for the first episode of the upcoming season. The posted title page of the script revealed that the first episode is "Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite," which fans of the comics and series believe points to the wild character Love Sausage, which could only...

The Boys Star Karl Urban Shares A Bloody First Look At The Returning Billy Butcher In Season 5 BTS Photo
Image
As has become something of a tradition, The Boys star Karl Urban has marked the start of production on season 5 of the Prime Video series by sharing a set photo of his character, Billy Butcher, covered in claret.

A blood-splattered Butcher is not exactly a rare sight in The Boys, but following the events of the season 4 finale, this shot might just have even more sinister connotations than usual.

Butcher has always been a morally flexibal guy, but when we last saw him he had fully embraced his dark side (manifested by the late Joe Kessler), killed Victoria Neuman and set off on his own to begin a Supe genocide.

This left the rest of the team on the run, with everyone bar Annie January/Starlight rounded up by Homelander's forces, while the now unopposed leader of the Seven moved one step closer to world domination.

'We've Gone Too Far': Antony Starr Reveals Why 1 Wildly Absurd Scene From The Boys Is Among His Favorites
Image
Homelander actor Anthony Starr recently discussed one of the most entertaining scenes from Prime Video's hit series The Boys, revealing why it was one of his favorites. In Season 2's third episode, "Over the Hill with the Sword of a Thousand Men," Chace Crawford's The Deep chases Billy Butcher and his titular team's Yatch down riding a whale. Butcher eventually impales the creature with the boat when the Vought hero attempts to block their escape, leaving The Deep devasted.

Starr and The Boys' creator, Eric Kripke, discussed the series and its upcoming season in a Collider interview, where the actor insisted that the characters on the show are awful and almost always do bad things for a reason, enabling them to connect with fans. To emphasize his point, Starr recalled the scene from Season 2, which seemed ridiculous to him at the time but worked because it was character-driven. "One...

The Boys: Members Of The Seven Suit-Up In First Official Season 5 Set Photo
Image
Cameras are now rolling on the fifth and final season of Prime Video's The Boys, and showrunner Eric Kripke has taken to social media to share the first official set photo.

The shot features returning stars Antony Starr, Chase Crawford and Nathan Mitchell, who will be back to antagonize Billy Butcher and the gang as Homelander, The Deep, and Black Noir, respectively.

The Deep and Noir - who took up the mantle after Homelander killed the original masked villain in season 3 - became a lot more dangerous in the season 4 finale, stepping up as Homelander's enforcers after fully embracing their penchant for merciless brutality.

Things look very bleak for The Boys - especially after Butcher's betrayal - so let's hope the team gets some super-powered back-up in season 5.

'The Boys' Showrunner Explains How the Show was Never Intended to Mirror of Reality
Image
The Boys showrunner, Eric Kripke, disputes claims that the hit Prime Video series has gone woke, saying it's the world that has changed to match the series. Despite its comical setting with evil superheroes, The Boys has always been a scathing satire of the American commercial system. Later seasons saw the show get political, as Homelander (Antony Starr) made a play for the White House in Season 4. Fans criticized the series for being too on the nose with its satire in Season 4, but Eric Kripke never could have predicted just how accurate the show's reflection of reality would be.

Speaking to Variety, Eric Kripke discussed how The Boys became one of the most relevant superhero shows around. Unlike the McU's Falcon and the Winter Soldier, whose social lesson boils down to "do politics better," The Boys takes a multi-faceted approach, dissecting several elements of the American political and capitalistic system.

The Boys Season 5 Officially Begins Shooting; Episode 1 Title Revealed
Image
Fans assumed that season 5 of The Boys would likely start shooting this week after star Laz Alonso (Mother's Milk) shared a photo of the cast meeting up for dinner to his Instagram page, and showrunner Eric Kripke has now confirmed that cameras are rolling on the Prime Video show's final batch of episodes.

Kripke posted the first page of episode 1's script to social media, revealing the title: "Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite."

While speaking to TV Guide about his plans for the final season earlier this year, Kripke was asked if he's already decided who is going to survive and who will come to a no-doubt messy end.

"Anyone who dies in season 5 will richly deserve it. We have a certain sense of who live and who dies, but we don't have it all totally figured out. But you get to do the final season of a show and...

The Boy Season 5 Episode 1 Title Revealed
Image
The Boys season 5 gets a new update, with creator Eric Kripke unveiling an intriguing title for episode 1. First released on Prime Video in 2019, the hit superhero satire has become one of the streamer's most popular offerings. After the release of season 4 earlier this year, which continues Billy Butcher's (Karl Urban) bloody quest for vengeance against Homelander (Antony Starr), The Boys season 5 is confirmed to bring the show to an end, with production getting underway in Toronto this month.

Kripke now takes to X, formerly Twitter, to share an image of the script title page for The Boys season 5, episode 1, revealing the title to be "Fifteen Inches Of Sheer Dynamite." The title page also confirms that episode 1 was penned by Paul Grellong and directed by Phil Sgriccia, both of whom are also executive producers on the show. Kripke's post includes a "#DayOne" hashtag, seemingly confirming that filming is now underway. Check out Kripke's post below:

The Boys Season 5 Just Got a Hugely Exciting Update
Image
Queue up that famous Thin Lizzy song because filming has begun on the fifth and final season of The Boys. Based on the graphic novels of the same name by Garth Ennis, Prime Video's The Boys has been a runaway hit and a breath of fresh air in the increasingly stagnant superhero genre. Starring Antony Starr, Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Erin Moriarty, Karen Fukahara, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso, Colby Minfie, and many, many more, The Boys is set in a world where superheroes are real, and they're all arrogant, narcissistic celebrities. Season 4's finale saw Homelander (Starr) eyeing a place in The White House, while Billy Butcher (Urban) unleashes his most violent desires.

Laz Alonso revealed that production on Season 5 has officially begun through an exciting post on Instagram. The photo showed the entire cast of The Boys Season 5 getting together for dinner. In the photo, Quaid, Urban,...

The Boys Showrunner Says He's Afraid Of The Series "Becoming The Thing We’ve Been Satirizing For Five Years"
Image
Over the course of its four seasons, Prime Video's The Boys has taken aim at major superhero franchises (numerous shots have been fired at Marvel Studios and Warner Bros./DC), with Vought basically doubling for a massive studio machine that churns out endless sequels and spin-offs with little regard for the quality of the projects.

It hasn't gone unnoticed that, as the show has grown in popularity over the years, these parodies have been lacking some bite, and The Boys has spawned a few spin-offs of its own. In addition to Gen V and the animated Diabolical series, we have Vought Rising and The Boys: Mexico in development (and they're just the ones that have been announced).

While speaking to Collider, showrunner Eric Kripke admitted that he is afraid of the show selling out by becoming what it's been satirizing.

"I live in absolute terror of becoming the thing we...

‘The Boys’ Eric Kripke and Antony Starr on Homelander: ‘He’s the hero of his own story. It’s just a really twisted story.’
Image
One thing that Eric Kripke and Antony Starr share in common? They “both have hard times absorbing compliments.” Kripke is the executive producer-showrunner-director for “The Boys” on Prime Video, and Starr plays villainous superhero Homelander, and they both take turns making each other extremely uncomfortable with praise during Gold Derby’s in-depth chat about Season 4. Watch the video interview above.

Accepting kudos “is a deep-seated damage in both of our lives,” laughs Kripke, who then delves into why Starr is “doing some of the best work on TV right now.” The filmmaker says, “He is in an all-timer list of great antagonists, and he just makes it so real and complicated and weirdly vulnerable at times, and just human. You know, we’ve always said as we’re working on the character together, you don’t have to sympathize, but you do have to empathize. You have to understand where he’s coming from,...

Susan Heyward Has One Sister Sage Request For The Boys Season 5
Image
Sister Sage (Susan Heyward) is the most compelling new supe in "The Boys" season 4. Unlike Stillwell and Stormfront before her, she's the first woman on the show to successfully form a respectful alliance with Homelander — and by "successfully," we just mean she managed to survive the whole season around Homelander without getting lasered to death. That's pretty impressive; sure, Firecracker (Valorie Curry) has also tried her best to do the same in the fourth season's final episodes, but somehow we don't think it's gonna go as well for her.

What makes Sage's survival of Homelander more impressive is how much she hid from him throughout the season; she knew A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) was the mole in the Seven instantly, but she never snitches him out. Her explanation in the finale is that she saw A-Train as controlled opposition; he was leaking info to the Boys, sure, but all that...

The Boys Parodies Donald Trump's Recent McDonald's Event With New Homelander Image
Image
The Boys has always mixed in a healthy dose of political satire along with its comic book and comic book movie parodies, and while they're not particularly subtle, they are usually pretty effective.

Former President Donald Trump has become a favourite target of the Prime Video series, and this latest image shared on the official Vought International X account is a clear shot at Trump's recent appearance working the drive-through of a Pennsylvania McDonald's restaurant.

"Growing up, Homelander dreamed of working at his local Vought A Burger. Recently, his wish came true, as Vought shut down a restaurant and staged pre-selected customers, so Homelander could “serve” “people” “food.” Thanks, Homelander, for showing everyone how you’re a true man of the people!"

The Boys Star Aya Cash Is 'Terrified' the New Spin-off Wont Live up to Expectations
Image
The Boys fan base is nervous about the upcoming spin-off series, Vought Rising, but few are more scared than the show's co-lead, Aya Cash, who's concerned the show won't live up to her expectations after she read some incredible scripts. Unlike other superhero franchises which try to cash in with endless, unnecessary spin-offs, Prime Video's The Boys has found tremendous success with its first spin-off show, Gen V. The newest project is hoping for the proverbial lightning to strike twice, as Vought Rising takes audiences back to the creation of the malevolent superhero company.

Speaking to GamesRadar+, Cash shared her concerns about the new show. Cash will reprise her role as Clara Vought, a.k.a. Stormfront (the literal Nazi), alongside Jensen Ackles' fan favorite character, Soldier Boy. The actress revealed that she isn't nervous about the quality of the storytelling. But, she was reportedly so impressed with the first scripts,...

Jack Quaid's Makes One Simple Request for Hughie in The Boys Season 5
Image
Jack Quaid, the young actor famous for giving life to Hughie in Amazon's superhero series The Boys, has decided to share what he expects from his character for season 5, which will premiere sometime in 2026. Specifically, he has one important request: he'd like less screen time for his butt.

In The Boys, Quaid plays Hughie Campbell, a member of the gang fighting the "supes" who work for the mammoth-like corporation known as Vought International. While he doesn't have a specific power, in recent seasons, we've seen Hughie experiment with Compound V, allowing him to go toe to toe with other supes for a limited amount of time.
