“The Boys” couldn’t let “Gen V” have all the fun at San Diego Comic Con.

At the very end of the “Gen V” Season 2 panel on Friday afternoon, the upcoming fifth and final season of “The Boys” showed its very first teaser to the crowd of attendees in Ballroom 20. It was a brief teaser, packed with tons of superhero violence and gore — as fans of “The Boys” have come to expect — and quick looks at the new and returning cast members.

The action unfolded quickly, but a couple of the highlights included a new supe character vomiting up what appeared to be a bloody hairball onto another character and someone having what could only be described as a violent explosion in a bathroom stall.

Seth Rogen, who’s an executive producer on “The Boys” and has appeared in a handful of cameos across the previous seasons, also made an appearance in the teaser.

When the Supe War started to take shape in Season 4 of Eric Kripke’s The Boys, Antony Starr’s Homelander sought assistance from some new promising faces. One such name was Firecracker, who quickly rose from a side character to one of the major problems that Billy Butcher and his ragtag group of vigilantes must take care of.

Interestingly enough, Kripke’s superhero spoof show had different intentions for her, where she would merely be a supporting antagonist. In the process of being a provocative figure on screen, she showcased a whole different side that was not part of the script. However, it did not disappoint, as her elitist side was quite an entertainer for the viewers to watch.

As The Boys gears up for its highly anticipated final season, Antony Starr (Homelander) has shared his reaction to reading the final scripts — and it sounds like fans are in for a wild, unpredictable ride. With Season 5 marking the end for Prime Video's subserve superhero show, expectations are sky-high.

Starr talked to Collider about his mixed emotions regarding the show’s ending. While he’s grateful for the success and longevity of The Boys, he also believes that ending at Season 5 is the right call.

Starr is suited-up as Homelander in the set photo, and it doesn't look like there's been any major alterations to his costume. There was speculation that the leader of The Seven might don a new outfit for this final season after he took a step closer to the White House in the season 4 finale.

The actor also revealed some artwork for Ryan's (Cameron Crovetii) "Homeboy" costume, which never actually made the cut. Ryan appeared to fully give himself over to the "dark side" after killing Grace Mallory (Laila Robins) in the finale, so perhaps we'll see him suit-up alongside his father at some point in season 5.

Shortly after the fourth season of The Boys wrapped up, showrunner Eric Kripke indicated that Jensen Ackles' (Soldier Boy) former Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki might be set to join him in the upcoming fifth and final season.

Now, a new video posted to the show's X account confirms that Padalecki has indeed joined the season 5 cast... along with Misha Collins!

The Boys Season 5 will feature a World War II concentration camp setting, based on recent photos shared on Reddit. User True_Cabinet_9733 posted images of what appears a massive compound in the woods with a "Freedom Sets You Free" sign over the entrance. It's also one of at least 47 "Freedom Camps" built, hinting there are more in operation across the United States. "Vernon Corporational Services" is written on the sign, possibly in honor of Robert Vernon (a.k.a. Tek Knight), who was murdered in Season 4. He confirmed a deal with Homelander and Sister Sage to use prisons for detained Vought dissidents, both humans and supes.

As has become something of a tradition, The Boys star Karl Urban has marked the start of production on season 5 of the Prime Video series by sharing a set photo of his character, Billy Butcher, covered in claret.

A blood-splattered Butcher is not exactly a rare sight in The Boys, but following the events of the season 4 finale, this shot might just have even more sinister connotations than usual.

Butcher has always been a morally flexibal guy, but when we last saw him he had fully embraced his dark side (manifested by the late Joe Kessler), killed Victoria Neuman and set off on his own to begin a Supe genocide.

This left the rest of the team on the run, with everyone bar Annie January/Starlight rounded up by Homelander's forces, while the now unopposed leader of the Seven moved one step closer to world domination.

Homelander actor Anthony Starr recently discussed one of the most entertaining scenes from Prime Video's hit series The Boys, revealing why it was one of his favorites. Cameras are now rolling on the fifth and final season of Prime Video's The Boys, and showrunner Eric Kripke has taken to social media to share the first official set photo.

The shot features returning stars Antony Starr, Chase Crawford and Nathan Mitchell, who will be back to antagonize Billy Butcher and the gang as Homelander, The Deep, and Black Noir, respectively.

The Deep and Noir - who took up the mantle after Homelander killed the original masked villain in season 3 - became a lot more dangerous in the season 4 finale, stepping up as Homelander's enforcers after fully embracing their penchant for merciless brutality.

Things look very bleak for The Boys - especially after Butcher's betrayal - so let's hope the team gets some super-powered back-up in season 5.

On his official X account, Eric Kripke shared a behind-the-scenes image from the set of The Boys season 5. The image shows the creator posing in what appears to be the set for the Vought Headquarters with Chace Crawford, Antony Starr, and Nathan Mitchell in costume as The Deep, Homelander, and Black Noir respectively.
