Fox Sports And Liv Golf Ink Multi-Year Rights Deal
Image
Fox Sports and Liv Golf have set a multi-year media rights agreement that will deliver live coverage of Liv Golf League competition to viewers throughout the U.S. beginning this February with the start of Liv Golf’s third official League season.

The deal marks the Saudi-backed league’s first outing on a major sports network Stateside after a stint on the CW. Liv was launched in 2022. Liv Golf CEO Scott O’Neil said the pact signals its “next phase of growth.”

Throughout the season, all three days of Liv Golf tournament competition will air live across the Fox family of networks with more than half of the League’s schedule airing on Fox or FS1. Select rounds will air on FS2, Fox Business Network and the Fox Sports App, with nearly all of the Liv Golf season’s 210 hours of competition carried live across Fox Sports platforms. All Liv Golf...

Fox Sports Gets Back Into Golf With Liv Deal
Image
Fox Sports is taking a new swing at TV golf by striking a deal with Liv Golf, the Saudi-backed league that has been luring top players away from PGA Tour and has been seeking a wider presence in U.S. media.

Under terms of the deal, more than half of the league’s schedule will appear on the Fox broadcast network or Fox Sports 1. Select rounds will air on FS2, Fox Business Network and the Fox Sports app. Nearly all of the league’s 210 hours will be carried live on some part of the Fox Corp. portfolio.

Financial terms of the deal, termed as “multi-year” were not disclosed. Fox Sports previously showed the U.S. Open in a pact with U.S. Golf Association, but got out of that deal in 2020 due to pressures under the coronavirus pandemic.

“Liv Golf is getting bigger and bolder, and this relationship signals...

Under terms of the deal, the CW will air 14 global Liv Golf League live events in 2023 and will stream the events live on its app. Weekend tournaments will air live on Saturdays and Sundays on the linear network, and stream online Fridays.

The agreement brings live sports broadcasting for the first time to a network that never relied upon it. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The CW is officially getting into the Liv Golf business.

The Nexstar-owned broadcast network has signed a multi-year deal with the startup golf association, which is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

Under the terms of the deal The CW will air 14 Liv Golf events in 2023, beginning with a tournament to be held in Mexico Feb. 24-26. The tournaments will air live on The CW and stream on the CW app on Saturdays and Sundays, with the Friday matches streaming on the app.
