Per Tubi, it's been revealed that Prey will hit the free streaming platform on Jan. 1, 2025. This comes after the movie's original release on Hulu in 2022. Mark Harmon is finally coming back as Leroy Jethro Gibbs... just not on NCIS. David J. North, co-showrunner on NCIS: Origins, recently confirmed that Harmon will appear in new footage shot for the premiere episode of the hotly-anticipated NCIS prequel series about the early days of Gibbs.

Per Deadline, North told reporters on Thursday that new footage of Harmon as Gibbs was shot for the prequel series, which is set to premiere on CBS on Oct. 14. "That was a discussion between Mark, myself and Gina Monreal," explained North about including Harmon. "I hope the audience will be excited to see him after so many years." Harmon last appeared as Gibbs in the Season 19 episode, "Great Wide Open," which aired on Oct. 11, 2021, meaning that it will have been just over three years since fans have seen the character onscreen.

A new look has been revealed for the upcoming television series NCIS: Origins. Serving as a prequel to NCIS, the show will follow younger versions of Mark Harmon's Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Muse Watson's Mike Franks.

In the prequel series, Austin Stowell will play Gibbs while Kyle Schmid co-stars as Franks. Each of the characters is featured in a first look photo published by TVLine. In one photo, Stowell's Gibbs can be featured on the job as a new agent at t he Nis Camp Pendlleton office. The other image showcases Schmid's Franks relaxing in the office with his feet up on his desk. Both photos can be seen below.

NCIS: Origins star Austin Stowell recently shared a new promotional photo from the highly anticipated prequel series. While the show is still months away from release, the image will ramp up excitement among fans.

Shared via Stowell's official Instagram account, the image gives viewers a look at the actor as a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs. The role was originally played by Mark Harmon across 19 seasons of the flagship show. Set in the 1990s, the new series focuses on Gibbs' early career "as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling Nis Camp Pendleton office, where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks."

This fall, NCIS: Origins will launch on CBS, taking fans into the backstory of Leroy Jethro Gibbs and his history with the agency. Austin Stowell is taking over the role from Mark Harmon, and a new video provides the best look yet at the younger Gibbs.

The video was shared on the official Instagram account for NCIS. From the set of NCIS: Origins, the video reveals Stowell going through his transformation to more closely resemble the Gibbs character. This means getting a shave and a haircut before putting on Gibbs-style clothing, making Stowell look a lot like a younger version of Harmon. The video can be watched below.

More cast members have been announced for the cast of NCIS: Origins. The prequel series to NCIS is set to debut on CBS this fall.

Per Deadline, Two new additions have just been named for the cast of the prequel series. They include Lori Petty (Tank Girl) as an assistant medical examiner and Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live) as a lead forensic analyst. Their castings had been confirmed at the Television Critics Association panel for NCIS: Origins on Saturday, which was attended by franchise star Mark Harmon. For the prequel, Harmon will voice the older Gibbs as the series narrator, and he's also serving as an executive producer.

Petty previously played the titular role in Tank Girl, the 1995 sci-fi film from director Rachel Talalay.

NCIS season 22 and Origins premieres on CBS on October 14 at 9 and 10 Pm Et. The prequel follows Gibbs in 1991 as a Special Agent building his team. Younger versions of familiar characters join the cast in the series.

Mark Harmon is returning to his role as a working actor. Besides working as a producer, he has mostly remained out of the business since leaving NCIS. He starred as Leroy Jethro Gibbs for the first 19 seasons of the hit police procedural series.

Now, three years after leaving NCIS, Mark Harmon is returning for a new movie. He will star in the sequel to Freaky Friday titled Freaky Friday 2.

Big news is emerging with the Predator franchise. While a separate standalone film has gotten a major update, there are still plans for Prey to get its own follow-up movie.

Per Deadline, The Great star Elle Fanning is in talks to star in Badlands, a standalone film that's set in the Predator universe. Though it is not directly connected to Prey, the film will be helmed by the same director, Dan Trachtenberg, who co-wrote the script with Patrick Aison. The project was first announced in February.

The update on Badlands may be casting some doubt with fans that Prey will get a sequel. Given the popularity of the film, that could be seen as a big disappointment for many.

As 20th Century Studios and director Dan Trachtenberg move forward with their plans to expand the Predator franchise following the success of the most recent instalment, Prey, the next project to feature the iconic extraterrestrial big game hunter has now been announced.

Deadline reports that Trachtenberg is set to helm a standalone Predator movie titled Badlands, with Elle Fanning on board to play the lead role. Plot details are still under wraps, but the story is believed to be set "sometime in the future."

Trachtenberg is said to have wanted to land an "established star" for this movie, and began taking meetings with talent. Insiders close to the project say, "Fanning is a fan of the franchise and once execs got wind of her interest, moved to set a meeting with her and Trachtenberg."

As for Prey, a direct sequel to the 2022 film is also happening, though details are still few and far between.

The cast of the NCIS prequel series is coming together. While the show will be led by Austin Stowell as the young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, more details have been revealed about some of the other characters.

Per Deadline, the two latest additions to NCIS: Origins are actors Patrick Fischler and Julian Black Antelope. They join previously announced cast members Stowell, Mariel Molino, Kyle Schmid, Tyla Abercrumbie, and Diany Rodriguez. Mark Harmon, who played Gibbs in the original NCIS, is serving as the narrator for the series, reprising his role as the older version of the character.

Prey director Dan Trachtenberg discussed the film's multiple nominations for the upcoming 2023 Emmy Awards.

In an interview with The Playlist, the director reflected on the movie's six Emmy nominations including Outstanding Television Movie, Directing, Writing, and the technical categories: Music Composition, Picture Editing, and Sound Editing.
