The two characters currently tied to the Captain America name, Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson, are headed to war against each other in Marvel's epic upcoming crossover, Captain America: Cold War. In the current scope of Marvel Comics, Steve and Sam have both been roaming the world leading their own solo adventures under the Captain America mantle. While Steve has battled the Outer Circle in the pages of Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and Carmen Carnero's Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty, Sam has found himself in conflict with Wakanda in Tochi Onyebuchi and R.B. Silva's Captain America: Symbol of Truth.
Now Marvel has announced that not only are the two books set to collide, but so are its two Captains America. A first look at Captain America: Cold War showcases Sam Wilson clocking Steve Rogers in the face for new cover art pitting the two Captains America one-on-one. The preview...

Warning: Spoilers for Savage Avengers #9!Due to a shift in Marvel's official timeline, Punisher 2099 has a new origin involving Ultron, and it makes Frank Castle's heart-rending origin look like the easy option. Frank Castle is a former marine whose family were gunned down during a picnic at the park, caught in the crossfire of a gangland hit. Unleashing a darkness that had always resided within, Frank became the Punisher, making it his mission to take devastating vengeance on anyone whose crimes cost the lives of innocents.
The Savage Avengers just can't seem to catch a break. After leaving Conan's Hyborian Age, they entered the dystopian future of 2099, where Ultron has taken over the planet with an army of Deathlok soldiers. The Savage Avengers have tried to counter him with a Deathlok of their own, the future Miles Morales, but it's been an uphill battle. They've even recruited Doom 2099 and Punisher 2099 to overthrow Ultron.

Warning! This post contains a Preview for Marvel's Captain America: Cold War
Marvel Comics has just revealed new details for its upcoming Captain America: Cold War event while also teasing some significant tension between Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson. Having their own trials in their respective series Sentinel of Liberty and Symbol of Truth, their enemies will soon join forces to become an even darker threat, one that will bring Marvel's two Captains together once again (while likely testing their friendship like never before).
In Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty, Steve Rogers is battling the new shadow organization known as the Outer Circle, a cabal with influence and authority over every major organization Captain America and his allies have ever fought for or against. Likewise, Winter Soldier has discovered major ties to the Outer Circle and has joined their ranks as the new Revolution, seeking to take them down from within.

Warning: contains spoilers for Savage Avengers #8!In a preview for Savage Avengers #8, Marvel has confirmed that the Punisher’s infamous skull logo is cursed. The Punisher’s legacy is one of bloodshed and violence, and as seen throughout the pages of Savage Avengers, this legacy extends at least to the year 2099, when the team is forced to recruit that era’s Punisher for a highly dangerous mission.
The Savage Avengers’ most recent arc kicked off when a future Miles Morales, now Deathlok, came back to the present to prevent a great catastrophe. Unfortunately, the Savage Avengers - including Elektra, Cloak, Dagger and Anti-Venom - were thrown back in time, and then forward to the dystopian future of Marvel 2099. There, they discovered that Ultron had conquered the Earth, using an army of Deathloks. The team first recruited Jake Gallows, the Punisher of 2099, in his first comic appearance in years. After recruiting Doom 2099 to the cause,...

The ape-movie crossover that you never knew you needed is on the way. Boom! Studios is going to be unleashing a brand new, six-issue comic book miniseries that will bring together the King Kong and Planet of the Apes franchises in a crossover that is appropriately titled Kong on the Planet of the Apes. The series is set to release its first issue this November.
Kong on the Planet of the Apes is written by Ryan Ferrier with art by Carlos Magno. Empire recently debuted some details on the series, which will take place in the continuity of the original 1968 Planet of the Apes movie, as opposed to the more recent reboot of the franchise. Empire spoke with Ferrier about the series, who explained what we can expect in terms of story. Here's what he had to say about it.
"The short of it is that Skull Island still exists in the future,...

Boom! Studios is at the Emerald City Comicon today to announce a new comic called Kong of Skull Island, which will serve as a prequel to the classic film. At first, I thought we were looking at an adaptation or a tie-in to the new film from Jordan Vogt-Roberts, Kong: Skull Island, but this Boom! Studios comic is a totally different thing. James Asmus (All-New Inhumans) is the writer for the limited series, while Carlos Magno is going to be the artist. The first issue will have a number of alternate covers from guys like Eric Powell, Ryan Sook, Paul Pope, Nick Robles, and Felipe Massafera, whose art you can see below. The logline for the series is, “Two fractured and combative civilizations are forced to band together as they venture into Skull Island — their new home.” Setting stories on Skull Island seems like the best way to keep telling Kong stories,...
