Exclusive: 'Vikings' Postmortem: Alyssa Sutherland Spills on Show's Shocking Death (Spoilers)
Travis Fimmel in Vikings (2013)
***Spoiler Alert!! If you haven't watched Wednesday's episode of Vikings, do not read!!

And with that, it's time to bid farewell to Queen Aslaug.

Vikings said goodbye to Ragnar's (Travis Fimmel) second wife on Wednesday's episode, titled "In the Uncertain Hour Before the Morning," after she was shot in the back -- yup, you read that right -- by Ragnar's first love, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick).

Exclusive: 'Vikings' Star Alexander Ludwig Talks Bjorn's 'Power Play' and 'Transition' Out of Ragnar's Shadow

Et recently hopped on the phone with Aslaug herself, Alyssa Sutherland, who revealed that while her death might have left us with our mouths gaping open, Aslaug pretty much knew it was coming.

History Channel

"She knows she's done," Sutherland said of Aslaug's thoughts just before her death. "I think she knows exactly what's going to happen to her. What's left is how."

How is right! Audiences watched Aslaug deliver one last "dig," in Sutherland's...

Clive Standen and Maude Hirst travel to Scandinavia as Real Vikings looks at Paganism
Real Vikings this week looks at how pagan beliefs shaped nearly every aspect of Viking life. From how they worshipped to how they fought and ruled, their complex religion influenced many of their decisions and practices. Actors from Vikings Clive Standen and Maude Hirst head to Scandinavia, where they find out that Norse paganism encompassed a broad range of beliefs prior to the Christianization of the region. Worship was not made in formal temples but rather in the home or in sacred groves, much like the Celtic druids. However, there were specific sites that seem to have been particularly important and remains have...read more...

Vikings' Kevin Durand: The 'Enchanting' Wanderer 'Definitely Leaves His Mark'
Travis Fimmel in Vikings (2013)
It was, literally, a dream come true on History’s Vikings (Thursdays, 10/9c) when the mystery man that Queen Aslaug, Siggy and Helga each saw during their sleep set foot in Kattegatt, his dripping blood smoldering in the snow.

What effect might this Wanderer, Harbard, have on the women while Ragnar, Rollo and Floki are off fighting? (While the proverbial cats are away, will the mice play…?) Kevin Durand (The Strain, Lost) previewed his visit to Kattegat and its lasting reverberations.

Focusing on ‘Vikings’ Season 2 Episode 7: Blood Eagle
I severely doubt there was a more compelling hour of television this week than what transpired in History Channel’s Vikings episode 207, “The Blood Eagle” so let’s break down some of the biggest moments, what built up to them and how they’ll impact future episodes.

The Blood Eagle

I would be remiss to begin breaking down this episode from any point except the end. Jarl Borg’s (Thorbjørn Harr) execution was the most brutal, horrific yet riveting ordeal to play out on TV in a long time. The Blood Eagle sounded like a cool visual when mentioned at the end of the previous episode, then reality started to sink in when Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) walked Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) through it. But actually seeing it? That was a game changer. I didn’t think Athelstan’s (George Blagden) crucifixion could be topped, but I was wrong. Borg said it...
