Hugh Hefner
Hugh Hefner Remembered by Friends, Celebrities and Playboy Bunnies
Hugh Hefner
Hugh Hefner, the legendary founder of Playboy magazine, has sadly passed away. Hugh Hefner died on Wednesday night at the age of 91 and now celebrities and former Playboy Bunnies are paying tribute to the legendary cultural icon via social media. Hefner helped to launch the careers of many models and actresses through the magazine including Pamela Anderson, Jenny McCarthy, and Donna D'Errico, just to name a few. In addition to the models and actresses, Hefner also helped boost the careers of writers and comedians while fighting for freedom of speech.

Drew Barrymore, Farrah Fawcett and Linda Evans are among those who have posed for Playboy. Several Playboy Bunnies became celebrities, too, including Blondie singer Deborah Harry and model Lauren Hutton, both of whom have good memories of their time with Hugh Hefner and Playboy. Hefner ran Playboy from his elaborate mansions, first in Chicago and then in Los Angeles, and...

Taran Killam couldn't be any sweeter!

The former Saturday Night Live star got sentimental on Wednesday, penning a heartfelt message of support for his wife, Cobie Smulders, in celebration of her Broadway debut.

Killam took to Instagram to share the tribute, alongside a stunning black-and-white photo of his ladylove, who stars as Joanna Lyppiatt in the Noel Coward comedy Present Laughter, alongside Kevin Klein.

Watch: Taran Killam Talks Supporting Cobie Smulders' Broadway Debut

"I don't normally like to get very personal on social media but tonight is the opening of this woman's Broadway debut," Killam wrote. "This woman [is] the kindest, most selfless, most stunning individual with the most educated heart I've ever encountered."

The 35-year-old comic actor recalled how Smulders uprooted their lives and came with him to New York City when he got the chance to join the cast of SNL, which is when she "set a goal for herself."

Saturday Night Live (1975)
Exclusive: Taran Killam Talks ‘Hamilton’ and Supporting Cobie Smulders' Broadway Debut
Saturday Night Live (1975)
While famous for his snarky impressions of Matthew McConaughey and Brad Pitt on Saturday Night Live, Taran Killam is now busy taking on his biggest real-life persona: King George III in the hit Broadway musical Hamilton, taking over the role from Rory O’Malley and following Jonathan Groff, who was nominated for a Tony for his performance.

The Broadway debut is a welcome turn for the actor who spent six seasons earning laughs on NBC’s long-running live sketch comedy series and often brought a musical theater flair to his many popular sketches.

In August 2016, it was announced that Killam, who was busy filming his directorial debut Why We're Killing Gunther, was not returning for season 42, to the surprise of fans and the actor alike. "My gripe, if there's any -- and I really don't have many -- [is that] I'm a sentimental guy and I would have liked to have been given the chance to do some proper...

Happy Birthday Vincent Price! A Look Back at Vincentennial
Today is Vincent Price’s 104th Birthday! Price was born here in St. Louis on this date in 1911 and is the most iconic movie star to hail from our city. Price, who died October 25th 1993, was also a gourmand, author, stage actor, speaker, world-class art collector, raconteur, and all-around Renaissance man. Vincent Price was simply one of the most remarkable people of the 20th Century. Four years ago we had the opportunity to celebrate his 100th birthday and St. Louis was the place to do it. I teamed up with Cinema St. Louis to present Vincentennial, The Vincent Price 100th Birthday Celebration, an event that lasted through much of the Spring of 2011. The following year Vincentennial won two coveted Rondo Awards, one for “Best Fan Event” and a second for myself as “Monster Kid of the Year” for directing the event. The Rondo Awards are prestigious Fan Awards given out...

Sigourney Weaver Chats with Kevin Klein for Gotham Magazine December 2014 Cover Story
Her longevity in the film industry is worthy of admiration and Sigourney Weaver is determined to continue blazing a trail for actresses in their 40s and 50s.

The “Alien” star discussed the current state of affairs in Tinseltown with Kevin Klein in her Gotham magazine interview for the December 2014 edition.

Klein asked, “More and more actresses in their 40s and 50s are still working and getting key roles. Well, three of them are—you, Helen Mirren, and Meryl Streep. What are the reasons for this?

Weaver replied, “I think one of the reasons the roles are coming to us is because, with someone like Meryl, people can count on her to turn in these amazing performances that [moviegoers] will go out to see. Writers are writing stories with good women’s parts because women are a part of our world. We’re much more integrated than we used to be.

And as a mother,...

James Gandolfini and Tom Hardy in The Drop (2014)
'Skeleton Twins' Scores Best Limited Opening since 'Boyhood'
James Gandolfini and Tom Hardy in The Drop (2014)
The fall season began in earnest this weekend as several top festival films opened well. Fox Searchlight's tough guy thriller "The Drop," starring Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival, landed in sixth place in the Top Ten, opening in over 800 theaters for an excellent gross of $4.2 million. The clear standout among the specialty films, "The Skeleton Twins" delivered the best limited initial showing since "Boyhood."  Both "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby" (combined version "Them") and Kevin Klein and Maggie Smith vehicle "My Old Lady" opened well as the adult season finally gets under way. "Boyhood" continues to dominate the summer specialty openers, but four summer releases are still grossing $380,000 or better deep into their run. Such robust takes show that the core older art-house audience is the most reliable demographic these...
