“American Song Contest” continued its premiere season with Episode 4 on Monday, April 11. Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg host the NBC reality TV competition that showcased 11 more qualifiers hoping to reach the semi-finals. So which state or region outshined the rest? Representatives from each of the 50 states, five US territories and the District of Columbia will take part in this round-robin tournament to find the best original song in America.

Each locale will be showcased with an original song that will be performed by a home-grown talent, be it a solo singer, duet or band. There will be three rounds: the first five weeks will be qualifiers followed by two semi-finals and the final. Voting will be by both fans and “a jury of music industry professional.”

“American Song Contest” is live once again on April 11 with episode 4. This round-robin tournament features representatives from each of the 50 states, five US territories and the District of Columbia, all of whom are hoping to be the ones that perform the best original song in America.

Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg host this reality series modelled on the Eurovision Song Contest. They will kick off this fourth qualifier with the big reveal of which three contenders from Week 3 have earned enough votes from viewers and jurists to make it through to the semi-final. They will join Tennessee’s Tyler Braden who won over the national jury with the song “Seventeen.”

NBC has confirmed to Gold Derby the identities of the 11 new participants who will take the stage during the fourth episode of “American Song Contest.” The Crystal Method, a two-time Grammy nominee in the electronic/dance field, is just one of the acts on deck for the Monday, April 11 episode, which airs live from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The four contestants from this group who receive enough votes from the national jury and the at-home viewers will advance to the all-important Semi-Finals.

As “American Song Contest” approaches its March 21 premiere date, the “Eurovision Song Contest”-inspired NBC show has announced 56 artists that will compete in representing the 50 U.S. states, along with a new deal with Atlantic Records to release the upcoming series’ original songs.

Some familiar names pop up on the stage-by-state list of competitors — including Jewel (representing Alaska), Macy Gray (Ohio), Michael Bolton (Connecticut), the Crystal Method (Nevada), Sisqo (Maryland) and Allen Stone (Washington) — along with dozens not so well known outside their local territories.

Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg were recently announced as co-hosts for the show. The first episode will air from 8-10 p.m. on March 21, telecast live from the NBCUniversal lot, with the finale slated for May 9.

Every Monday night, there’ll be a batch of songs released along with the airing of a new episode, as Atlantic will issue the original songs from that episode at midnight Et/9 p.

After being in development for several years, “American Song Contest” finally debuts on NBC on March 21, 2022. The reality TV show is based on the worldwide phenomenon “Eurovision Song Contest,” which has been a mega hit overseas for the past six decades. The American version of the musical competition series features live original performances from 56 acts representing all 50 states, five U.S. territories and the nation’s capital. Each act vies for the audience’s vote in the hopes of earning the title of Best Original Song. The Season 1 contestants are a mix of solo artists, duos, DJs and bands and explore all different music genres.
