Susan Sarandon dumped by Hollywood agency over anti-Jewish rant
Image
Los Angeles, Nov 22 (Ians) Oscar-winner Susan Sarandon has been dropped by a top Hollywood agency after saying frightened Jews are “getting a taste of how it feels to be Muslim in America.”

The 77-year-old actress has spent the past few weeks raging against Israel and is now under fire for her latest outburst in the wake of the October 7 attack by Hamas, reports pagesix.com.

Sources say that several staffers at the agency were extremely hurt by Sarandon’s comments.

A spokesperson said the agency is no longer representing Sarandon.

Sarandon, the star of hit movies including ‘Thelma & Louise’, won her Oscar for ‘Dead Man Walking’, and had been a client of the agency since 2014.

Sarandon has appeared in two movies this year, DC spin-off ‘Blue Beetle’, which was a box-office flop, and rom-com ‘Maybe I Do’, with fellow veterans Diane Keaton, Richard Gere and William H. Macy, and...

UTA Drops Susan Sarandon After Comments at Pro-Palestine Rally in New York
Image
Susan Sarandon has been dropped by UTA after she made controversial comments at a pro-Palestine rally in New York on Nov. 17, Variety has confirmed.

Sarandon said at the rally, “There are a lot of people that are afraid, that are afraid of being Jewish at this time, and are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country, so often subjected to violence.” She told protesters to have conversations with Jewish Americans, who don’t feel safe amid the rise of antisemitism in the country.

Muslim American journalist Asra Nomani responded to Sarandon’s comments in a lengthy post on X, writing “Please don’t minimize the experience of Jewish Americans by sanitizing the hell that it is for Muslims living in Muslim countries and vilifying America for the life — and freedoms — she offers Muslims like my family. Go, live like a Muslim woman in a Muslim country.

New York Times Gets Backlash For Asian American Figure Skating “Overrepresented” Article
Image
The New York Times is being taken to the woodshed on social media for using the term “overrepresented” in an article on Asians in figure skating.

“The Asian American Pipeline in Figure Skating”article appeared before US-born Team USA athlete Nathan Chen won gold in men’s figure skating at the Beijing Winter Olympics. His parents immigrated from China and he grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Times article noted Chen and other Asian American skaters were starting to dominate in a sport once exclusively white.

Sportswriter Andrew Keh, who wrote the article, claimed that “overrepresented” was not intended to convey any sort of “judgment.”

“I used the word after hearing [it] in conversation with multiple Asian American sociologists,” Keh tweeted. “It literally just means that participation is clearly disproportionate to the population stat cited in the same sentence. There’s no judgment baked into it.”

However, the wording did not exactly convey that.

Asra Nomani and Seth MacFarlane highlight Real Time with Bill Maher
It would be hard for Bill Maher to top last week’s incendiary top-of-the-show interview with gay British bad boy conservative Milo Yiannopoulos. But the heat is subsiding after a week of scandal and outrage that commenced with his appearance on Maher’s Friday night salon on HBO. This week will be a hot potato too. Maher welcomes Seth MacFarlane, who like Maher is an outspoken atheist and critic of Potus Donald Trump. Family Guy creator MacFarlane is a multihyphenate phenomenon who produces, directs, sings and writes — and does it all very well. But it is Maher’s booked guest Asra Nomani that...read more...

‘We’re With You,’ Bill Maher Tells Paris Before Discussion of Terrorism and Islam
Bill Maher
“Before we get to the hilarity, we hope, I just want to say one thing to the people of Paris,” Bill Maher said, during Friday night's live broadcast of HBO's Real Time With Bill Maher. He then sang a few lines of the French national anthem, “La Marseillaise,” and added, “Now, I’m not a very good singer, but that’s my way of saying ‘We’re with you.’”Maher, who has become known for controversial comments about terrorism and Islam — including his assertions on his former ABC show Politically Incorrect in the weeks after 9/11 that “we have been the cowards” and that America’s actions precipitated the terrorists’ response — took the time last night to double down on many of his causes over the course of the show. In a later segment, Maher brought on his first guest journalist and author Asra Q. Nomani, who congratulated the host for...

Osama bin Laden's Pakistan Haven
It's not shocking that Osama bin Laden was found in a comfortable Pakistan mansion-what's shocking is that the U.S. pretends the country isn't a harbor for terrorists. Plus, full coverage of bin Laden's death.

To me, as an American Muslim, it's significant that bin Laden is dead. American-Muslim groups zipped out statements through the night after news of his death: Muslims for Progressive Values said it "expresses great relief" at the death, saying, "Osama Bin Laden has singularly disgraced Islam and dragged our faith through the mud..." Islamic Information Center called him "one of the greatest enemies of Islam, if not the entire world." American Islamic Forum for Democracy said it "applauds" the news.

The Left's Peter King Lynch Mob
Liberals complain that the hearings on American Muslims were a racist blame game. But they trashed anyone trying to tell the truth about the radicalization of Islam.

In the headlines, two minutes have defined the four-hour hearing of the House Homeland Protection Committee on radicalization of Muslim American community: Minnesota Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison breaking down as he told the story of 9/11 Muslim paramedic, Mohammed Salman Hamdani, saying some people tried to "smear" Hamdani's name before his remains were found, "solely because of his Islamic faith." "Keith Ellison cries," read a caption at conservative website, the Daily Caller. "Rep. Ellison breaks down during hearing," read the Washington Post headline. "Fear Thy Neighbor," flashed on the screen as liberal MSNBC host Chris Matthews played the Ellison video and took committee chairman Rep. Peter King (R., N.Y.) to task for bashing Muslims.

New Details About Daniel Pearl's Murder
A 3 1/2 year investigation into the kidnapping and murder of the American journalist shows that 27 men were involved in the crime-and 14 of them remain free on the streets of Pakistan.

Almost nine years ago, on January 23, 2002, Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was kidnapped off the streets of Karachi, Pakistan, brutally killed a week or so later, beheaded, and chopped into 12 pieces. In July 2002, four men were convicted of Pearl's murder, including mastermind Omar Sheikh and three men involved in sending out ransom notes to the world. Pakistan closed the case. The U.S. let the case go dormant, with one FBI agent told by his boss, "Let sleeping dogs lie."
