Image
On January 1, 2024, the earliest versions of Mickey Mouse – seen in the animated shorts Plane Crazy, The Gallopin’ Gaucho, and most famously Steamboat Willie – became public domain… which, of course, means we’re now going to get multiple horror movies that feature characters inspired by Mickey Mouse. Within the first three days of the year, we saw the short film The Vanishing of S.S. Willie, a trailer for the slasher movie Mickey’s Mouse Trap, and an announcement that Terrifier 2 producers Steven Della Salla and Michael Leavy and director Steven Lamorte, who previously made the Grinch-inspired horror movie The Mean One, were teaming up for a Steamboat Willie-inspired horror flick that we now know as Screamboat. And there’s more: Mouseboat Massacre, I Heart Willie, The Dark Domain: Mvw Mickey-vs-Winnie. If you’ve been wondering why Minnie Mouse has been left out of the action – well, writer/director Brett Bentman has been wondering,...

Move Over Mickey, Another Classic Children’s Character Is Getting a Bloody Makeover With New Two-Part Horror Film
Image
We live in a time when classic characters are getting horror makeovers to the extent that it’s fast becoming their own sub-genre. The trend started with Winnie the Pooh coming into the public domain and turning into Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey which saw some success and turned up a universe in two years. Since then, any classic character that comes into or already exists in the public domain is getting twisted treatment, be it Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, Bambi, or Peter Pan. Joining the ranks is Aladdin.

Bloody Disgusting reports, a two-part twisted take featuring the iconic Arabian Nights character is in the works. B22 Films is making Aladdin and Aladdin’s Revenge, which will present a darker take on the Middle Eastern folktale. The movie is written and directed by Brett Bentman, known for horror titles like Bull Shark, Meteor, Foreclosure, and more. The first of the two features,...

A few months ago, we heard that director Bradley Stryker was about to go into production on a horror film called Aladdin: The Monkey’s Paw – and now, our friends at Bloody Disgusting have learned that two more Aladdin horror films, completely separate from Stryker’s project, are in the works! Writer/director Brett Bentman is gearing up to tell a two-part horror story with the films Aladdin and Aladdin’s Revenge, which have scream queen Devanny Pinn on board to star in them!

Aladdin and Aladdin’s Revenge will be filming back-to-back, with production scheduled to begin in Oklahoma this month. They’re aiming for 2026 release dates. Coming our way from B22 Films,...

From Winnie the Pooh to Mickey Mouse and Peter Pan to Bambi, it seems that no classic character is safe from the horror genre. And now it’s your time, Aladdin.

Bloody Disgusting has learned that B22 Films will be bringing Aladdin into the world of horror with a two-part twisted take featuring upcoming films Aladdin and Aladdin’s Revenge.

We’re told that cameras start rolling in Oklahoma this month, with a 2026 release planned.

The two-part saga centers around a struggling young woman who stumbles upon a magical lamp that offers the ability to grant three wishes – wishes that go horribly wrong…

Aladdin stars scream queen Devanny Pinn and Rob Zombie alumni Billy Blair. It...
