“We See a Pattern” - ‘NCIS Origins’ Austin Stowell Teases the Christmas Episode
Image
NCIS: Origins’ Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) is about to have a pretty depressing Christmas without his wife and daughter, who were murdered by cartel boss Pedro Hernandez (George Paez). The military series is set to end the year with the “Blue Bayou” episode on Monday, December 16, in which Gibbs prepares for his first holiday without his family. New episodes will then return next year, beginning on January 27, but while that’s still weeks away, TV Insider has some interesting news about the soon-to-arrive Christmas episode.

NCIS: Origins Tries Hard To Justify Gibbs & Lala's Romance
Image
Spoiler Alert for NCIS: Origins season 1, episode 9, "Vivo o Muerto"

NCIS: Origins heats up in episode 9, including the romantic spark between Austin Stowell's Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Mariel Molino's Lala Dominguez. If anything happens between them, it needs to justify their romance since NCIS: Origins revolves around what happened to Gibbs' wife and daughter in NCIS, and a romantic connection with the family patriarch could undercut his tragedy. Still, the case in episode 9 brings the agents closer as they search for a missing Navy corpsman named Dana Rogers (Zoe Sansanowicz), with their lead taking Gibbs and Lala to Tijuana, where they plan to work with a liaison officer.

When Lala and Gibbs arrive in Mexico, their liaison officer reveals that he believes Dana's disappearance connects to a human trafficking ring run by the Reynosa cartel. Pedro Hernandez (George Paez) is one of the two people running the operation,...

NCIS: Origins Episode 9 Recap: 8 Biggest Moments & Reveals
Image
NCIS: Origins season 1, episode 9, "Vivo o Muerto"

In NCIS: Origins episode 9, Leroy Jethro Gibbs gets dangerously close to his family's killer, with a massive reveal at the end. The prequel delivered one of its most compelling plot points yet in "Sick As Our Secretes," which revealed that Special Agent Randolph (Caleb Foote) has a secret connection to what happened to Gibbs' wife and daughter in NCIS. Randy is a new NCIS character, and tying his story back to what happened to Gibbs was a good move.

Episode 9 ties a new NCIS: Origins character's story back to Gibbs. The case in "Vivo o Muerto" brings Gibbs and Special Agent Lala Dominguez (Mariel Molino) to Mexico, where Gibbs' team member tells him how deeply she connects to his case. The agent has a special connection to Mexico, revealing she's half Mexican, and the agents grow closer on their journey over the border.

Exclusive: Lifetime has rounded out cast for both installments of Toni Braxton’s Fallen Angels Murder Club, and Angie Harmon’s Barstow (working title) movies. The movies fall under previously signed deals with Braxton and Harmon, in which they will star in and executive produce multiple films for Lifetime.

Eddie Cibrian has joined the first installment of Braxton’s Fallen Angels, while Kelly Hu joins the cast of the second film. Both films are based on the Hollis Morgan mystery book series by author R. Franklin James.

Cibrian stars as Avery Mitchell, Hollis Morgan’s (Braxton) charismatic boss, while Hu will make her debut in the second installment as the mysterious Joelle. Both productions have started filming and will premiere in 2022. Additionally, Harmon’s Barstow (working title) movies has added Kristoffer Polaha as Elliot, a mysterious stranger with a troubling past.

In the first installment of Fallen Angels Murder Club (wt), members of the Club must have two things in common – a love for books and have a criminal record. Hollis Morgan (Braxton) meets both requirements. Left holding the bag in an insurance fraud scheme concocted by her ex-husband, Hollis served her time and now hopes the court will pardon her conviction so she can return to law school and fulfill her dream of becoming a lawyer. But when a member of her book club is murdered in a scene straight out of the previous night’s novel, Hollis once again becomes the subject of police scrutiny. Refusing to get stuck with another bad rap, Hollis sets out to investigate her fellow club members and after a second book-inspired murder, she races to identify the killer before she becomes the next victim.

Cast also includes Keith D. Robinson, Lisa Berry, Yanic Truesdale (Gilmore Girls), Kaitlyn Leeb (Spinning Out), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia), Rainbow Sun Francks (Umbrella Academy), Henderson Wade, Rob Stewart, Raoul Bhaneja and Shawn Ahmed.
