Cole Sprouse
Moonshot review – sprightly space romcom stows away to Mars
Cole Sprouse
A sharp script, solid direction and an able crew give this classic mis-matched boy-girl story a satisfyingly fun sci-fi spin

This is a smarter-than-it-sounds sci-fi romcom, the kind Gen-z kids would presumably dig. It sends a seemingly mismatched boy-girl couple – poor, hapless but good-hearted Walt and super-competent but neurotic swot Sophie (Lana Condor from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) into space following their respective romantic partners who have already flown ahead to a much-coveted colony on Mars. So while the overall project is a heterosexual space-rom, along the way there are sprightly touches: thoughtful world-building; snarky jabs at billionaire space entrepreneurs (Zach Braff co-stars as a capricious Elon Muskian tech overlord); and a cute lesbian couple with commitment issues (Cameron Esposito and Sunita Deshpande).

Most welcome of all is the generous sprinkling of good one-liners thanks to screenwriter Max Taxe’s witty script, solid direction from Christopher Winterbauer,...

Exclusive: Lana Condor and Cole Sprouse Are in Serious Trouble in "Moonshot" Clip
Image
Lana Condor and Cole Sprouse team up in the new sci-fi romcom "Moonshot," where the duo play college students who end up on a space ship headed to Mars. Condor plays Sophie, whose boyfriend lives on Mars, working his dream job. Sophie meets Walt (Sprouse) and tells him all about her own plans to move to Mars, fixing their long-distance relationship. But Walt confesses that going to Mars has always been his dream, too, and he sneaks onto the ship before it takes off. Sophie has to help Walt stay hidden away so they can both make it to the red planet.

In an exclusive clip from "Moonshot," Sophie smuggles Walt into her room and urges him to stay there until they make it to Mars. Walt is less sure that staying in a small space together is a plan for success. "What do you think happens when two people...

Daredevil Season 4 Was Already Planned Out Before Netflix Cancelled It; Cast and Crew React
Last night Netflix announced that they cancelled Daredevil, and fans were not happy. It sucks! This was just such a great show that got better and better with every season!

It’s hard not to think that the whole Disney+ thing played a role in its cancellation. Some fans think that all these Marvel shows that Netflix has cancelled will eventually continue on Disney+ and I hope that happens!

Marvel and Disney+ are currently developing a slew of new, big budget shows that will focus on characters that have been introduced in the Marvel movies. Will they want to spend even more money on continuing these Netflix shows that were supposedly seeing dips in ratings? I hope that we haven’t seen the last of Daredevil, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Anyway, Daredevil season four was already planned out when the team got news of the cancellation.
