Netflix's Get Gotti offers viewers an inside look into the FBI's crusade to bring down notorious Gambino family crime boss John Gotti. The three-episode docuseries features interviews from both members of law enforcement and former Gotti associates, while also providing insight into a wide cast of characters who made lucrative livings throughout the '80s and '90s as members of New York City's criminal underground.
Now, Joe Pesci may not be among those characters, but he does actually have a connection to a couple of the mobsters mentioned in Get Gotti. Well, a movie role-based connection, anyway. Sal Polisi played a significant role in the Italian American Mafia and New York organized crime scenes, being associated with both the Gambino and Colombo crime families. Polisi became disillusioned with the Mafia and eventually aided the feds in their pursuit of mobsters like John Gotti, testifying against his former associates in several trials. After his involvement with the Mafia, Polisi has become a successful public speaker, author, and Hollywood producer while running Ubatz Productions with his wife.
Sal Polisi's role within the mob as a whole — and what happened to him after John Gotti's trial — is one of the more compelling aspects of Get Gotti. Salvatore "Crazy Sal" Polisi was an associate of both the Gambino and Colombo crime families, which led him to leave an indelible mark on the Italian American Mafia and New York organized crime scenes. As portrayed in Netflix's three-part docuseries, John Gotti killed Paul Castellano,...

Everyone likes to tell war stories, including cops and definitely gangsters. Such tales provide the fuel for Get Gotti, Netflix’s new three-part docuseries that tries to breathe fresh life into a story that ended well before there was even such a thing as Netflix. Fast and slick, well-sourced and cogently told, it opens up most when the tea gets spilled by those on both sides of the law.
Loose lips, of course, eventually doomed Gotti, the Eighties New York crime boss who couldn’t stop talking into the bugs...

Important Note: There may be some films that do not become available on the specified dates. This is merely a report of the most accurate release dates I can find, but is not directly confirmed by Netflix themselves.
